It's tradition and it's good! On every trip north; we find a Gold Star and stop in. 3 way spaghetti was amazing! The Gorito was also great and you have to have a mini chilli cheese dog or 3. Of all three cheese coney places, this one ranked second for me. I didn't mind the chili taste, but I liked Dixie Chili the most.

Great place. Never had them before. They were better than Skylinr IMOP! Been to Cinci to see my daughter who is there for college.

Came here with my son to give the burgers a try. We both had a double cheeseburger with fries. The burgers are pretty small in comparison to what you see on the menu. We also ordered shakes that didn't come until we were completely done with our meal. The table across from us needed to be bussed but was not during our entire time in the restaurant. With two kids under 5, we do not eat out very often as a family. I don't like leaving a mess or arguing with my kids to sit still All that said, we had a great lunch at Gold Star today with both of our boys. While they were busy, the staff was doing all they could to give the guests a great experience. Our food came out quickly and was freshly made. What really made our experience today, though, was our server Jessica. She was wonderful! She was patient and attentive to our preschooler, and even convinced him to wear a bib while he ate his chili! Jessica made me feel so much better about taking the kids out, and really made our day while we were out to do some holiday shopping. read more

If you've never had Cincinnati style chili, you have to at least try it when you are in town! Most people either love it or hate it but it's worth checking out. My review today is actually burger related, as this particular location sells hamburgers. They are great! I've tried the regular burger but also the chili burger (with chili, cheese and Fritos on top) and really enjoyed them both. I was also given a huge portion of fries. If you've already decided you aren't a Cincy chili person, these burgers (obviously not the chili one but there are options) are a good alternative if your family still wants to come here. If like me, you enjoy Cincy chili, take a break from your usual order and go for a burger. Plus crinkle cut fries are the best kind of fries! read more

Literal garbage, garbage customer service, i never write reviews but this place made me so mad, I put in my order 20 minutes before even showing up to the place, I get there I tell them I have an online order (I already paid by card online btw) they tell me I don't have an order then walked away, I had to call them back over and show them my receipt for them to finally say " oH yEaH wE dO hAVe aN oRdEr" than I proceeded to wait another 15 minutes for them to give me my food which should've already been ready with no compensation that's the whole point of ordering before hand read more

We came here to do a taste test. Being from out of state we could honestly give it our best taste. Between Skyline chili and Gold Star. Here is what we decided. Gold star is more chili with less cinnamon sweetness. Other than that I found Gold Star to have just as nice a servers and the sizing to be similar in both places. If they were both on the same street I'd have to pick Skyline because they had a different menu that includes cake. Gold star has burgers and shakes. I love Cincinnati Chili... I wanted to try the vegetarian options at Gold Star, as my family have increasingly appreciated such options. The 3-way regular and vegetarian were both good (not great), and one thing I think really knocks their good chili down a notch is their hot sauce. It's far inferior to the sauce you get at Skyline. That may seem strange because they're so similar-- but there is enough of a difference to impact the overall enjoyment of the meal. read more

A first time trying Cincinnati Chili (in Kentucky). We went in as a party of 6. Since we've never been we had to ask how it works..... you seat yourself and then a server comes to you and takes the order. We had the server go over the history of the place since we wanted to be extra touristy! 3 brother from Jordan came up with the chili recipe and chain restaurant. Many coney's with cheese were ordered as we as a couple 3-ways and 5 ways. Spaghetti, chili, cheese, beans and onions. Back where I'm from, we don't eat chili this . However we all thought it was pretty tasty! The chili has cinnamon and nutmeg, very different than southwestern chili.... but awesomely good! The buns were soooo soft and the amount of cheese put on all items was insane, handfuls of finely shredded cheddar! Service was great, it's incredibly cheap in cost for the amount of food and order a shake afterwards... you won't regret it! Also they serve oyster crackers with hot sauce before the order come out haha, very interesting for this AZ girl but definitely worth a try! read more

DONT GO HERE! Service was terrible and food was even worse. My mom and I went here, Dec 16, 2021, yesterday. When we first walked in the lady at the register gave us a dirty look like they were about to close. So we ask what time they closed and our waitress said 11pm. Keep in mind we walked in at 7pm. We got our food relatively fast but the only item the was WARM was our fries. I got a chili bowl and my mom got 2 coneys. One of the coneys was hard to cut into because the hotdog was still frozen and my chili was lukewarm. After we finish eating my stomach hurt all night long. But finally this morning, Dec 17, 2021, I got some relief; I throw up 4 times. I will not going to that gold star again. read more

This location is really neat! The interior has an edgy kind of vibe and they have upbeat music playing softly in the background. They have sandwiches, salads, and burgers for people who don't like chili. The service was great! I sat at the bar and chatted with the employees and watched them as they worked. I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in Florence. read more

I walked in and said hello to a woman who was evidently on break. She never cracked a smile and I barely got a response. I ordered ice tea and a 4 way and there was so little ice in the tea that it was completely gone by the time I stirred in the sugar. The floor was dirty and I had to go to the register to get my check after my meal because the girl ignored me the entire time I was eating. Will not go back and will never go to another Gold Star!! i just cant believe the changes to your menu and size of serving and we ordered extra juicy and our spaghettis was dry as hell did not even get enough chili for the serving and we got two three ways that amounted to one of the old three ways and the cheese barely covered the spaghettis we got. i used to love gold star and now i am so disappointed that I'm not even sure we will come back. Tried the cheese coney while in the area. Hot dogs were very reasonable, but had a mismatch with bun size. How these chili dogs really shine is the mother load of cheese covering the top. There was a good combo of cold cheese and steamed hot dog and chili. Chili wasn't my favorite, but overall is was a good meal and way better than I've tried elsewhere. read more

When we walked in most of the tables were dirty so myself and 2 kids only had the bigger table to sit at and that was fine but after sitting there for 10 to 15 ish minutes no one came to help us, even when we walked out no one said anything. I called to tell them what happed and when the foreign manager told me it wasn't his problem and to just not come back. I wouldn't make this post if he wouldn't have said that. read more

I had to throwaway half of my doubledecker sandwich because it was soaked in pickle juice. When I spoke with the manager, I was told it was Good Star's policy that I had to return the food in order to get it made again. I was an hour away by then and was not coming all the way back for a sandwich. I will never go to that Gold Star again and I certainly will switch to Skyline if I don't hear back from the corporate inquiry I sent. read more
