I took in some precious metal for an appraisal. When it was taken into a room out of my sight, some of it "disappeared".

I previously wrote a review, and I'm here to update it. David the owner reached out to me because I left a chain with them a month ago and didn't hear anything from them, minus being told it would take two weeks, I left my phone number then heard nothing. David reached out to me and explained it was a communication error and my chain was ready after three days of dropping it off. He said he would speak with his staff in regard to the issue, and I'm very grateful he called me. I'll stop in within the next few days to pick it up and am very grateful he contacted me to fix this. read more

I went to Gold Trader this morning with a ring I was hoping to have: 1.) Identified. 2.) Appraised. 3.) Converted to paper money. Not only did the employee, (for the record this was NOT the owner) incorrectly identify the diamonds in the ring as "definitely not diamonds," he fabricated the current price of gold, stating that it was below the actual current price. This was not my first time in Gold Trader, and probably will not be my last, however this visit did leave a bad taste in my mouth. I received a second opinion from a jeweler down the road, and received 40% more than the price offered at gold trader. I WILL return to this establishment based on its proximity, however I WILL NOT return without seeking a second opinion. 2/5, do not want. Thank you! read more

After speaking to Jande, their wonderful store manager, she convinced me to come in and have the Gold Trader team help me in my search for the perfect wedding/anniversary band. I went in and was pleasantly surprised at their knowledge of fine jewelry, diamonds, and watches but their interest in making sure that I was well informed, happy, and excited about the process. I went to this establishment to sell a gold ring that I have had for a long time. I chose them because of their TV commercial, advertising how they pay more than anyone else. The first thing the clerk asked me was "Have you ever sold any gold before?" I did not see the relevance of this question except to find out how much (or how little) he could pay me. I told him "no". He then said "Well forget about what you paid for it, you won't get anywhere near that" I thought to myself, whatever he offers me is going to be a whole lot less than what it is worth because, he could not make such a statement when he has no idea what I paid and when I bought it. Gold prices have soared significantly since I bought this ring a couple of decades ago. Well, he did make me a ridiculously low offer, so I took it somewhere else and was happy that I did. Went to Gold Trader yesterday with old / broken jewelry. Jande' went over our booty with a very clear process as to what grade of gold there was, what was silver etc. She tested all pieces right in front of me so I could see the results. I was hoping for enough for a front end alignment; Received a check large enough to also buy 4 tires an oil change and some tankfuls of gas! Very pleased, so pleased that I am planning a return trip next week with more, and am hoping for a dishwasher on that trip. Will report again in another week. read more
