The sauce dish that I ordered was strange. The meat had a very slimy thin texture less consistency. The sauce had no taste at all, we did not eat past one bite. The egg roll was small, actually the spring rolls were more well stuffed than the egg roll which were opposite in the menu photos. You have to enter in main entrance as the only other entrance is off a merge lane that leads to 45 south but only from merge lane..and the merge lane is currently under construction. Their lunch specials are $7.95. They don't charge extra for non-white rice options. Rare. They have white, brown, and fried rice. The meal also comes with a vegetable or pork egg roll. I had the General Tso's chicken. I asked for fried rice, but they gave me brown rice, possibly by accident since my coworker ordered it with her meal. I didn't complain and ate the brown rice. Everything tasted great. Large portions. I had leftovers. I had to try their scallion pancake since that's my favorite. It wasn't as scallion-y, and it was pretty oily. There are a bit of scallions inside, too, but not much. The concept was different, which the waitress explained. You put a smear of hoisin sauce and sliced scallions on top, then roll it. Additionally, we had two servers, one who was very nice and the other would yell as she came to the table. I'm not sure if she just wanted to be sure we heard her but it was a little off putting. This place is a hidden gem!!!! I am so glad I drove past. I've been here for almost a year and have yet to find decent sushi in the immediate area. The sushi was fantastic, fresh tasting and the sushi rice was perfection. I did a pick up order but the interior is very inviting at first glance and the decor is simple and tasteful. This is not our usual Chinese food spot but we were closer to this one so we gave it a try. I am so happy we did, if you're a vegetarian and are tired of only having veggie lomein, veggie fried rice & broccoli in garlic sauce as your only options this is the new spot! The Kung Pao tofu was delicious & I can't wait to go back to try their sesame tofu as well. Also, they have veggie fried egg rolls for apps, which our usual spot doesn't offer either. On my initial visit to this establishment I was pleased with the service and food. Today we drove 15 miles to eat here. We ordered a pork fried rice dish. When the dish came out and we tried it the pork had a funky smell to it. When we brought it to the servers attention her response was simply "we've been serving it this way for 8years". Perhaps that is correct but we did not feel safe ingesting something that smelled spoiled. She did not take it back to the cook to inspect or smell nor did she do either. The egg roll came out quickly and was nice and crisp with great flavor. My sesame shrimp followed soon there after and was equally good. Portions were huge (i.e., Texas sized). More than a dozen jumbo shrimp battered and fried with a tangy sweet and sour like flavor. I gave up on the rice since I was getting full and still struggled to finish the shrimp. There's not many Chinese food restaurants that I trust but this is definitely will be one that I go back to. First off our waitress was Phoebe, and she was very nice and attentive, and didn't make us feel rushed at all. They offer free soup with your order, so naturally I got wonton. The broth was so flavorful and warm and the dumpling was tender and had the slights taste of beer which was yummy.
