This has to be one of my favorite closest Chinese restaurant. They have nice size portions and they're reasonably priced. It's not fancy, just good food. I usually get the General Tso's chicken or the sesame seed. I've had this at many places and some are either overcooked or the portions are so small and filled with vegetables I don't enjoy it. I live around the corner from Golden China and I can actually say that, for a small American Chinese delivery restaurant, they are pretty good. What you need to know: 1. I have ordered from this place many, many, many times since late 2014. 2. They are FAST. Especially if you pick up. 3. They are actually incredibly friendly. Especially the woman who works the counter. Bad food: 1. Crab Rangoon (it's just awful). 2. The mumbo sauce. Good food: 1. Crispy beef 2. Fried chicken anything. (Kind of salty, but good). 3. Szechuan chicken. Remember this place is exactly what you expect. It's not gourmet food. It's decent Chinese take-out. It's fast. They're polite. We tried carry out from this restaurant when our favorite in Burtonsville closed. (We used to drive there from Silver Spring because we liked it so much). We were disappointed with the dishes we tried: moo shu chicken, kung pao tofu, veggie fried rice, and orange chicken. The food was flavorless for the most part, and the majority of the vegetables in the kung pao were diced broccoli stems. We won't go back. read more

Ive tried the food here on 3 different occasions. Each time I ordered General tso chicken or Orange chicken, both with only white meat & with brown rice. Each time the chicken was mostly fried up scraps with no sign of any white meat, it was always very bristle-y and mostly fried filler with no discernible chicken meat. The brown rice was always very mushy and resembled white sticky rice that had been overcooked. The red chili hot oil had a rancid taste the last time I ate from here. One of the better hot and sour soups in the area. Good chicken wings from what I remember (try to stay away from fried Chinese food.. Adds more guilt) dingy feeling but most Chinese places give you that feeling. read more

I live close by this place and have tried a few different Chinese places in the area. This is by far the best Chinese in the area. We usually order the Singapore noodles and moo shu pork. I was in a hotel with my girlfriend. And we needed to eat something. Mcdonalds and Friendlys right across the street, but definitely dont like either of them. So we checked around to see what places delivered. Golden China came up first. So I ordered a general tso chicken and my girl ordered a combo lomein. We got the food in less than 30 minutes which in my opinion, was very good. I tried out the chicken, and it definitely had a distinct flavor. Not the usual chicken you get anywhere else. But ofcourse it still had lots of batter and not much actual chicken, but the flavor..... It tasted like it was fresh off a charcoal grill. Which I actually kinda liked. We both had some lomein, and it was typical. Kinda greasy, not much flavor. In my experience, it wasnt bad. I liked my dish. But I only tried out 2 dishes from their extensive menu. So maybe you might experience better or worse? Should give this place a try tho. read more

Their Chinese food may not the greatest. But what do you expect from a small place like that? I will tell you their chicken wings with mumbo sauce is the bomb and If you like greasy overstuffed subs try their steak and cheese with everything on it. the food here is pretty good. the rice here is nice and fluffy and not hard and stale. i had the chicken wings with fried rice and beef lomein, i needed the $12 minimum. the lomein was a little salty, maybe a bit too much soy sauce, but the portion for the lunch special was enough to keep you full. the wings came hot and tasted great with the mambo sauce it came with. the fried rice wasnt too bad either, not too bland and not too salty. all in all the food was pretty good and cheap. read more

Amy is one of the owners and she is great. She allows you to create your own dishes from the extensive menu. The food is good the first night you order but it is great when you reheat it for lunch the next day. The portions are great. My favorites are General Taos combination, Peking Duck, boneless bbq pork, spring rolls, steak and cheese egg rolls. Truly all the food is good so you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. This establishment is extremely unprofessional. We ordered and did not receive the food for 2 hours. When we did receive the food, 1. The food was not fresh and cold 2. Half of the order was wrong 3. There was hair in the food. Their fried rice was bland, no seasoning or flavor and lacked moisture (DRY). Not only that but the shrimp tasted as if it was cooked in the microwave. We were told we would receive a refund if we had any issues with our order but when we brought these issues up, the manager said, and I quote "Do not play with me....get the fuck out of my phone.... I dont care... You're a liar... etc" and then proceeded to hang up on us, TWICE. A $50 order of terrible food and extremely unprofessional service. Definitely not ordering from here again. The best thing is for this establishment to get closed down, they lack in all areas. I was not refunded by the way. If I could rate them 0 stars I would because even 1 star is too generous. read more

Golden China is the worst Chinese food/ Carryout restaurant I have ever eaten at. Not only do their delivery drivers constantly demand tips, on numerous occasions I have received lukewarm food. The only thing good about this restaurant are their French fries and that is also a hit or miss so you have to catch them on a good day. Just two days ago I ordered a chicken and broccoli lunch special meal with two egg rolls, I was charged $12 when the menu says the meal is only 5.65 not only that but once I received the food I found a piece of METAL (like the kind used to tie a loaf of bread bag closed) in it under pieces of broccoli. Upon calling the restaurant and them sending the driver back out, I was only refunded FIVE dollars. I was also told that the food is still fine to eat which is why I wouldn't receive a full refund. Needless to say I will NEVER order from this disgusting place again. read more
