I probably go to a Golden Corral 2-4 times a year. And basically by myself. My wife has never been a fan. It's the 40 year of Health Department in her. She doesn't like a buffet or says she can't eat enough to justify the price. Had our 8 year old grandkids Twins A boy and a girl. I asked them what they wanted for lunch and as soon as they saw the sign both hollers at me from the back seat saying Papaw Golden Corral. In we went. I barely got the tab paid and looked around and they were all ready making their plates. I realized I had made a decent choice since they apparently knew where everything was. Now I have always liked GC's fried chicken and their veggies. The kids had a chicken leg a slice of pizza some shrimp and our granddaughter had made herself a salad.So in the back of my mind we came to the right spot. I had some shrimp,some catfish, a chicken breast and some chicken livers over rice with chicken gravy. My grandson went to the salad bar and got me a small bowl of white slaw. I'm just getting into my shrimp and they had inhaled their food and was going back to the bar again. She came back with a taco in a hard shell and Mac and Cheese. He came back with Mac and Cheese and one of their mini cheeseburgers. After a shot of Ketchup he was eating like a hungry young man. I had just gotten up to get me a little something to fill that void and they had gotten themselves some ice cream with sprinkles and a couple cookies.One of them offered to get me some ice cream so did say no sprinkles please. Everything was fresh the bar was clean and well stocked. Our waitress kept our empty plates gone and our glasses full of tea,sprite, and lemonade. I think as we were leaving they were content with lunch. I definitely realized at 29.00 dollars for our lunch we did good. Their daddy asked when we got back home where did we go and said they like the Golden Corral where they live also. I used to like their breakfast. But they call it brunch now and they don't seem to have the choice of breakfast items like it used to. Or maybe the weekend differ's from the weekdays. I haven't been to GC since before the pandemic, and honestly I could go another five years before needing to make the same mistake again, I think. 2 stars because of the rolls, but beyond that most of the food was meh at best and several items I had to waste because it was just inedible. They did away with the chocolate fountain as well, which I figure is a sanitary thing. Not sure if this location had the fountain before or if other locations are still doing the fountain, but I don't really care to find out. Place is far from clean and sanitary anyway, but that is to be expected at a place like this unfortunately. You're not going for a fine dining experience. You're going because you want to punish yourself. I'm also confused as to who exactly would want to work at a place like this? I can't imagine staff are well paid or making any kind of real noteworthy tips. Guess I'll leave that a mystery that maybe I'll return in five years to ask. I took my family here for my birthday. I showed the cashier my coupon for my birthday, where I buy a meal and get one free. She said okay and later saw she didn't even apply the coupon. I paid for four adults and a kid. It was expensive, but I let it go because I don't like being argumentative. Then my sister and I went to the restrooms, and they were disgusting. The salad bar was trashed. Lettuce was everywhere on the bar and floors, yet the lettuce bowls were almost empty. So my sister and I couldn't even get a salad. We waited, and it was never refilled or cleaned up. It was December tenth at dinner time, and the place was not very busy. So there was no excuse for the mess or leaving the lettuce empty. Then it gets worse. After I couldn't get a salad, I went to ask for a steak, and I explained I wanted it extra rare. He couldn't understand me, so I repeated myself three times, and then he said okay. Come back in ten minutes. I return in ten minutes, and he cuts open a completely well-done steak. No pink, just all brown. Then I realized this man could not even understand English, and they had him cooking. So I started looking for someone that could understand me. I found a guy, explained what happened, and said he understood and would bring it to my table in a few minutes. I waited around thirty minutes, and nobody came. My family had already moved on to the dessert. And the waitress never gave us refills until they were already on dessert(One refill of our drinks the whole time we were there). Moreover, I went up there to find him, and he said he hadn't even started it yet. So told me to wait another ten minutes. ( very rudely, I might add) So I did wait yet again, now my family was just about finished, and I still never got a steak. My fiancé finally got fed up and said I will go and take care of this myself. They shouldn't be treating you like this. (Because knows I'm a people pleaser, and I didn't want to cause any more problems or keep begging for a steak) And was gone for about five minutes and came back with a steak. Now, I must hurry up and eat it because everyone is already done and ready to go home. I was beyond upset. I even sent an email to Golden Corral, and they never even sent a response, and it's been over 15 days. It was a horrible experience for many reasons, and I will never bring my family to eat here again. It was nothing more than a massive waste of my money, and I paid a lot. We really enjoyed our trip to this Golden Corral location today! Folks need to remember that this is an AYCE buffet restaurant and not a Michelin 5 star establishment. The moderately large crowd ensured a rapid turnover of the food which was hot and fresh or cold and fresh as appropriate. The fried chicken is always a favorite. Our server was attentive, friendly and polite. I don't have her name (middle aged black lady) but will look to see if she is working next time we are in. Golden Corral is also to be lauded for their work with veterans and the children of veterans through their summer camp program. Today the DAV was present and what a blessing they are to America's veterans! If you don't like buffet style restaurants don't go. It's not like there aren't other places to eat in the area. For the money, the choice and the service it's my "go to" place! read more

Really good food we loved the fried fish and chicken and the deserts were amazing I got cotton candy from it

Food was good and abundant but super crowded and extremely rude staff. Was in the third dining room and a fat waitress in a flower dress with an out of date jeans jacket ran into us twice and didn't even acknowledge it. When I said you hit us twice now she said she didn't feel it and didn't care. Guess with that much blubber she probably didn't. One crazy lady was screaming at the bbq man. The good food doesn't compensate for the extreme rudeness of staff!!! You need an employee overhaul. Get rid of the crap and get some decent help. read more

Since my last visit over a year ago, this Golden Corral has been remodeled. It now has the newer format, which includes separate bars for Asian, Hispanic, and seafood items. I also noticed some food items that I had not seen at Golden Corral before, such as chicken parmigiana and lasagna. Plenty of variety in the food choices, good value. read more

Started to come here after the virus shut down the one closer to our home. Still serving great food and the service is always excellent. The steak is cooked to order and very good. Vegetables always fresh and flavorful. I would recommend going on a weekday or night as the crowds on the weekend can cause a lot of congestion in the dining room and lines form in front of some of the more popular foods especially the grill. It was worth going the extra miles out of our way to have such a good meal and plenty of it at an affordable price. read more

COVID HOTSPOT!!! I had gone there alone on a Friday afternoon (Sept. 25th, 2020), they were reminding people on the overhead speaker to wear masks at all times when not seated at their tables, and folks were complying; so I felt safe taking family there Sunday Oct. 04, 2020. The staff on duty were NOT making this announcement; and at one point 6/7 people at the main grill were NOT wearing their masks. Average mask rate was 1 in 3!!! I mentioned this (Friday Sept. 25 overhead reminder) to the cashier while the 6/7 people were at main grill who just huffed like 'shut up, I don't care' yet didn't say NOR DO anything even though 2 were at the front with NO customers in line. The Chinese looking waiter had his mask COVERING HIS CHIN ONLY!!! the entire F&^%ing time! They did NOT have out steak (11am due out) until after 1130-further lengthening ones exposure to this CORONOVIRUS HOTSPOT. We left without getting any steak. I live a half a mile away and used to go there almost every Friday and Sunday since 2012, now I will NEVER EVER go back to this place!!!! Their GROSS (pun intended) and flagrant disregard for BASIC sanitation and public health is just disgusting. MANAGEMENT- DO NOT even bother to offer a free meal. What can you say about any Golden Corral? You don't go there for great service, but all you can eat at a good price. When I am in town and really hungry, I go here. There is no reason to leave hungry. From salad bar to desert, they cover it all. The steaks are just OK, but for the price I don't expect fillet mignon. The help is always there to please. read more

Stay away! There were ants crawling on the steak buffet and when i brought it to the attention of the person grilling he looked at the ants and took the steak back to the kitchen then put it right back out. No manager offered to come to our table or anything. Needless to say we didnt finish our meal and still trying to get a call back from the manager to get my money back. The food has went way down in quality and way over priced! Little kids running around playing and yelling, sticking their fingers in the food and when we complained, nothing was done about it. We will not eat here again. Their food was so bland it tasted like leftover TV dinners. $52.58 for 3 people. $2.49 for a drink and you gotta dodge a bunch of rowdy Mexican kids to get a waitress for a refill. I am sad to say that this is all I can give. We love Golden Corral, but were sadly disappointed this trip. It was our first meal at this location. It may have had the new format layout, but the food was not up to par. There were so many dishes that looked absolutely horrible, that we had little to choose from. I have a restricted diet and so this made the experience very upsetting. A lot of the dishes that night were overcooked. The quality of cleanliness around the food was sorely lacking. And as already mentioned by other reviewers, where were the employees who were supposed to stop by to see if we needed anything, take our dirty plates, refill our drink glasses. Our girl was nowhere to be found. We had to waive someone down to get some help. I think someone should find out if the time of night we ate has something to do with this or it is always like this. For the most part our family outings to this particular Golden Corral were satisfying. First of all there's lots of parking. We haven't once had to search for a place to park. They have parking areas in the front as well as on both the right and left sides of the main entrance. Despite the number of people waiting to be seated, we have never had to wait any unreasonable amount of time. The waitresses are very prompt. They were immediately at our table to sign the ticket and make sure that we had everything we needed. They have a really wide variety of choices on their buffet bars. There are steaks cooked to order on an open flame where as the customer, if he or she so chooses, can watch while it's being prepared. They also have Asian and Mexican buffet bars. They have fruit and salad bars with honeydew melon, cantaloupe, kiwi, pineapple, strawberries and many other healthy choices. However, we have had a couple of not so pleasing experiences during each of our visits. First of all, the tables are too close together. Secondly, the bathrooms were not up to sanitation standards. If not for these two undesirable experiences this Golden Corral could be a well rounded family night out at a great price. read more

Never again will I eat at this sorry excuse for a restaurant. I used to go here for the steak and mashed potatoes, that's about all I ate here. The last few times I've gone I've found it near impossible to get steak that didn't have blood running out of it. Id ask for medium well and get offered a raw piece of meat. When I said "no, medium well" I would be told 2 minutes. I was told "2 minutes" several times and eventually my family was done eating while I was still waiting on steak. They weren't busy either. I noticed a lot of people having the same problem. I asked to speak with the manager. I told her about my experience and she said she didn't understand why the cook couldn't keep up being that they were slow that day. She walked off to tall to the cook and I never seen her again.
