Golden Corral located in Forest Acres, the only one in Columbia. Comparing this location to the one in Florence we always frequented I hoped to see some differences, but it was about the same. There are two sides for dining left or right and there's not much difference maybe more booths. I was disappointed to see the food zones were the same mostly identical so the menu must be set chain-wide. The food quality is serviceable it's not prime rib but the prices aren't either. $17.49 sounds reasonable but where they get you is $3.79 per drink plus tax then your sitting right under $50. I'm not a buffet person but come here to appease my wife. I think there is value in the Weigh & Pay take-out system. Food was bland. I had to add salt. Since it is a buffet, they do as little as possible to the food. I was not expecting to pay near $50 for two people. I personally do not think it is worth the price. The bathroom is small with very little privacy. They were not very clean. I will only go back if people I am visiting want to go there. Had dinner here the other day. It's been awhile since we've been here. Their price is reasonable but the drink is not included if you want a drink it is extra. There lunch price runs until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday then it goes to dinner price but if you're there before 4:00pm you still are entitled to get dinner on Sunday it's all day dinner price. They have a good variety of food to choose from. They have a salad bar with an assortment of different toppings you can put on your salad. Their menu changes a little bit depending on the day you go. They have steak after 4:00 p.m. and they also have a make your own taco spot. They also had cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza, cooked mushrooms yams, baked potato, Mac and cheese, lasagna, hot rolls, make your own fajitas, soup depends on the day what they serve and chili these are a few of the things they have they also have many more. They have a large variety of dessert as well hot apple pie, regular apple pie, pecan pie, chocolate cake, cheesecake, fudge, chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal cookies, they also have soft serve ice, cream vanilla, chocolate. I went to this restaurant Sunday and they were very busy. A person had a service dog, and when they finished eating the server left their unused plates at the table for the next customer and only wiped around them. Another table that only had 2 people left several unused plates and they just reused them for the next customers. This is not sanitary at all. People could have touched those plates or even sneezed on them. All plates need to be sent back and a new set brought out every time the table is cleaned. I came with my family to enjoy a nice outing here. My family and I were sat and there was a group of kids making remarks and jokes about calling ICE on us. Unbelievable! I was wondering whom their parents were and they were left unsupervised. I would get up and get food but they would continue to makes jokes. We came in as soon as it opened on 5/30/24 right after my son graduated from basic training. The service was great, the food was fresh and good. Lots of options from BBQ, to Mexican, and American foods. The salad bar was great too and the dessert bar hit the spot. Our waitress who attended us Niki, I believe her name was, was fantastic. This is my first time ordering takeout from this restaurant. I ordered through Ubereats. This location is 3 mi from me and when the food arrived it was barely warm to the touch I had items missing and an item added that I did not even order. The holiday turkey meal, but did not include the gravy nor the cranberry sauce, the sweet potato casserole is barely a casserole at all. It's the most stringiest sweet potatoes I've ever been served and it came with marshmallows on top that we're not even melted down because the sweet potatoes were so cool. The turkey you can see the dry demarcation line on the turkey like it had previously been cut and left waiting and they added two chocolate chip cookies. I guess to make up for the two finger slices of cornbread, guess that supposed to be cheesecake with strawberry jelly on top. I have never gotten a meal that looked like this, like it was an order for someone else that was repackaged in sent to me. I've never ordered sweet potatoes from a restaurant and they were full of strings. Because the order was through Ubereats there is really no disputing. OK, I admit it . . . I LOVE CHEAP FOOD!!!!!! Especially buffets. So, if it's cheap AND a buffet, you can only imagine how happy I am. The cashier was playing on her phone, my server was busy not being busy, and some of the food sat under heat lamps much longer than it should have. However, the meatloaf was surprisingly good. Overall, nice and we will come back occasionally. Came back another day for breakfast at 8 am, cost $18, which is a decent price for 2 breakfast buffets with free juice.
