I so wanted to give more than 3 stars because my steak was actually really good but the second I walked in there was this gawd awful smell that almost made me leave ( no joke it smelled like nasty body odor ) and when I asked the cashier she said ya I smell something as well but kept doing her job ‍. I sat down and went to get a salad and steak & actually had to ask someone to come over to the grill because there wasn't anyone there @ the grill station. So like I said the Steak was good as well as the salad. But that dang odor inside the place was really strong and I swear I could smell it on the shrimp and fish as well. On 2/27/2024 my mother took me and my son to the Golden Corral in Dothan Alabama O our birthdays she spent over $60 we got there at 3:30 in between lunch and dinner there was no clam chowder I wasn't aware of the clam chowder or any of the soups only available during lunch I thought they were available all day there was no butterfly shrimp waited 30 minutes for wings the roast beef looks so nasty and dry and overcooked the pork I guess that's what the other one was was nasty it was dry I didn't see no orange chicken everything that was advertised that you see on TV and you see on a little TV and Golden Corral they didn't have so basically me and my son's birthday was ruined because they didn't have any of the stuff that was advertised to be there management was not helpful so unfortunately my mother will not bring us back to Golden Corral nor will I ever give my business or my money to Golden Corral it was a very disappointing visit there was nobody in the bakery department couldn't get caught in candy unless you don't offer it no more there was no strawberries actually the pakery looked pitiful why have something advertised when you could see it on TV inside your restaurant that shows strawberries and chocolate and they don't have it there's nobody even there to help not one person was helpful at all our birthdays was ruined we had four adults with us read more

I wanted to treat myself for my birthday on October 28th 2024. Golden Corral has been promoting their hot wings. I went to the hot bar and there was no hot wings. I asked someone in the kitchen and my server about the issue and they couldn't give me an answer. I then found a manager and asked her. She blamed it on truck being delayed. My wife and I went there a couple of months ago on a Wednesday evening and the dessert bar was empty and the hot bar was missing some food. I asked the manager about it and she stated that the truck would be there on Thursday. It's always about a truck there. The franchisee needs to quit opening new restaurants around Dothan and start keeping food in his store. People save your money and go somewhere that actually has food. read more

I'm not sure how this place stays in business. Their Health Rating is 89, but looking around I'd say the Houston County Health Dept is very generous. There was very little food, no salad dressing, slow service yet servers standing around everywhere. The only good thing about my visit was the cashier that greeted us at the door. I took my son and sisters out and we've dined here before but this was by far the worst experience we've had. Our server didn't even greet us so we never knew her name and had to wait 20minutes for her to come from the back to take care of us. The only thing my son ate was pizza. On top of that the staff itself was coming from the back arguing with each other in the dining room using profanity in front of my son and sisters. Crazy to experience this in a family restaurant. On top of that when i spoke to a manager, she refused to give a refund because the server would've had to dig through the trash to find out receipt she threw away from our table, telling us we should've paid with card instead of cash because there is no other way for her to issue us a refund. The remodel looks great. Food was superb. I remember when it seemed they had faltered but they are definitely back on their game. My husband loved the fried catfish and shrimp. They remodeled so the inside looks great. The food is good. However, the staff isn't so great. Waited over 10 minutes for refill with the waitress walking past multiple times and not even stopping to make sure we didn't need anything. My boyfriend had his cup where she could see it and she looked at it and never offered a refill. I understand they started preparing for shift change but they should still take care of the customers. We weren't the only ones. The table next to us had been waiting for about the same time for a refill. If they had a better staff it would be better reviewed.
