There didn't seem like there was much of anyone around. A few cars in the Parking Lot, no one in line. The Cashier had a bland personality. Seniors get a discount but, the price of a buffet is like $20 that's not including a drink. I believe drinks are four Dollars with free refills. Drinks are small so you will run out and have to ask your Server and he's not around when you need him. The Cashier won't fill your drink even though she got it the first time and was right by the drink machine? She wants the waiter to do it. Food was ok. Mashed Potatoes were delicious and Mac and Cheese was creamy and Cheesy. Dumplings were good. I did not care for the Sweet Potato Casserole, Nachos, or Meatloaf. The didn't have Chicken Strips or Chicken Nuggets? We had a friendly server but he was too friendly. If you know what I mean. I don't think the price is worth the food. Went in on a Sunday afternoon around 2 o'clock for lunch with our family of 5. For three adults, one child and one free child plus drinks for each all came out to be $90! I kept trying to figure out how it was so much. Then when we got home I saw we were charged dinner prices instead of weekend lunch prices. We called up there the last few days to see if that was right and not a soul has picked up the phone. The food was not $90 good whatsoever, not even $9 worth. The place was gross and hot too. I've never eaten so little at an all-you-can-eat joint to where I was starving later that night. The only thing I can say is that the wait staff were very nice, courteous and kept our drinks full. I probably drank more of my drink than eat the actual food. My 1 star goes to them. $80 of my $90 should go to them and I'd be happy. read more

On a Christmas Day road trip, my husband and I located Golden Corral in Fort Worth that was open for business. What a mistake! The serving areas were nasty with spilled food around the containers, and no employees were seen cleaning., Many serving dishes remained empty the entire time of our visit which was during the lunch hour. Two types of chicken (grilled and fried) were offered in undesirable cuts like chicken backs. It was also expensive considering the food that was served; I even overhead other guests talking about the $20 per person price. We left with the hopes of not getting sick as they did not have hand sanitizer that is available at other Golden Corrals. Outside, a Corral sign was laying on the ground along with cigarette butts and debris. This franchise needs to be closed. read more

If you are looking for a good review this is NOT THE PLACE!! The parent company needs to shut this place down. Or the health department. I've never had a dining experience like this before. Absolutely terrible. I heard several people say that if they had not already paid that they would walk out. You know when the kids aren't eating the mac& cheese that there is problems with the rest of the food. It all looked like left overs from either lunch or the night before. The meatloaf was burned and it was drowning in ketchup I guess to hide the fact. The gravy was all water, the mashed potatoes could have hurt someone if they had been dropped on their foot. We are still trying to figure out what kind of mystery meat they were passing off as steak. Trying to pass off soggy fried fish as shrimp. Just a mess. I don't believe that the help had any experience in restaurant work because they didn't know what they were doing. I went through 3 plates looking for one that was clean enough to put some salad on. And forget about a clean soup bowl. The soup was watered down anyway. This used to be one of the better Golden Corrals in Ft.Worth but now it's the worst. We should have been tipped off when the parking lot was mostly empty at 6:00pm on a Fri. night. We thought it was because it had been a thunder storm just passing through. Live and learn huh?? First thing noticed was the air conditioner was not cooling well. The food was mediocre (except for the steak which was good). No bread was served or drinks refilled. No waitress or waiter acknowledged or checked on us. We bussed our own table putting our used plates on a neighboring table. Male waiter came took those plates to a table two rows over and then put stacks of other dirty dishes on the same table. Female employee stayed mostly on the phone not acknowledging us at all. Came here at 6:30pm the AC is out the whole building is hot and they have little staff working and old dried out food being served. There was no steak or pizza being served they had little mashed potatoes being served. It wasn't until after 7pm that they finally started to cook steaks and make fresh items. I was finally able to get fresh chicken and the steaks were over cooked. There was only one guy behind the counter and he sucks at cooking and gives you little chunks of meat. Save your money! So, so, bad... Loved the Golden Corrals in Austin and was looking forward to going to the one on Alta Mere here in Fort Worth for my birthday, dinner, Tuesday, July 22. Wish I had read local reviews first! It was absolutely horrible. So disappointing and pissed off that my family spent so much money for such a sorry experience. First, entering it was warm and muggy. The cashier was rude. The food... please... where is the district manager? Who's checking quality issues for this unit? I can't believe this is such a horribly run store and I can say that having been in the food service management business for 30 years as both General manager and District manager. Almost no labels on the food so you had to ask what a couple of the meats were. There was no shrimp as advertised with is the main reason I chose to go. Mostly overcooked, canned vegetables. Meat was dry, except for the steak which was cooked perfectly for me by a very courteous gentleman! The deserts looked like they had been sitting out since the beginning of lunch service. I had to asked for a fresh cobbler and it looked not better than the old one. The ice cream machine had obviously had over-runs onto the floor for hours and there was a couple of ice cream soaked rags on the floor in front of it. The floor was so sticky. And again, no labels so it was a crap shoot on what flavor you were getting. The only highlight was our waiter. Very friendly and attentive young man. Definitely an asset to this unit. Where to start - 1st and foremost myself and 2 others in my party are sick and throwing up at the moment. the diet soda didnt even taste right, should of been a sign of thing to come for us this visit now - the website says breakfast, we went in 10am and were told AFTER we paid, breakfast is only on weekends. then went to sit down and were told by the old fart working the register to not sit on the right side but the left, because the only had one sever, and he didn't have rollerskates. great no breakfast and then a comedy show. food was last nights leftovers, there was clam chowder caked and old on the side of the steam table crock, 4 types of chicken, all cold in the middle as if out of the cooler. fish cold in the middle, the baked or broiled chicken, not sure which since its not labeled was old and dry and after one bite, tasted and smelled of FISH thus ROTTEN (see opening comment for resulting issue) looked up and the old fart is now seating whites on the left with us, and telling blacks to sit on the other side...this is not 1963 old fart! the liver and onions looked like dry and old beef jerky. finaly after total disappointment i decided to try some fruit and BINGO, winner....a live walking cockroach on the serving handle to the tuna salad in the salad bar area. we got in touch with the manager, who's only reply is '" i make chicken and fish now all fresh 3 min" well friends. i am not eating chicken of fish thats only been fried 3 min no way its up to temp and the steam tables must of been set wrong because every single thing was cold we immediatly got up and left, still hungry and totally disappointed. quick update- Old fart at the register, did not give me a diet drink, had to of been regular..thus the weird to me taste...i am diabetic and my blood sugar is 215...its not been over 110 in 5 yrs of my maintenance of it. Went to this golden corral to have lunch made it there around lunchtime, it was not that busy at all and I thought is a good time to go because it was not busy. I went to fix my plate and was thinking I really want cabbage and soon as scooped the cabbage up, I noticed it was something in it as I looked closer. I realized it was a roach. I immediately asked to speak to a manager. They told me his name was Carlos Sanchez. He came out look at it apologized, but seemed concerned as if this was something that he see all of the time. Sample anything you'd like, then pig out on your favorites. My favorites are the clam chowder, chicken noodle soup, roast beef, fried chicken and catfish, mashed potatoes with cream gravy, corn on the cob, black eyed peas, salad bar and carrot cake. Took my daughter there for her birthday lunch because she never been to Golden Corral and I haven't been in decades. It was $40 for both of us to eat trash food! I have NEVER been to any restaurant with food this nasty! The rolls were hard, food was just gross, most dishes not labeled! I got what I thought was thin steak and bit into it just to find out it was liver! GROSS! My daughter got a piece of fried chicken that she said tasted like fish! Desert cakes were very dry and stale. After we left within about 30 minutes I got diarrhea and later in the night both my daughter and I had bad stomach aches! Went to go look for more food and nope. It looks like it's just been sitting there all day. Everyone came back to the table with an empty plate. The younger two didn't even want dessert. I saw pictures and a glowing review on a local foodie FB group. I decided to give it a try. I should have paid attention to the part where it was a paid partnership with the foodie group. We walked by the food on our way to find a table. The food did not look good. Something marked as ham looked a lot like loaf turkey. The food that was out looked old and had a dry crust on top. We walked by many empty tables, but they all had dirty dishes on them. A man walked to the front trying to get a drink refill and was told a waiter would get it for him. He said he hadn't seen a waiter. We went to wash our hands before eating and the bathrooms were disgusting. 3 out of 5 toilets were backed up. I didn't get to see the others. The hand soap was empty. This is when we decided to get a refund without eating and go somewhere else. The staff we did have contact with were very polite and helpful. They didn't question why we didn't want to eat because they already knew. Stop paying to hype your restaurant and get down to the problems in-house. read more

Excellent bacon, eggs, ham, fried chicken, etc!! A big however, "since covid, no more cartons of milk, yogurt, or cereal," which is strange because they're self-contained as opposed to being out in the open like everything else and susceptible to the virus. So obviously it's a cost issue, sadly, just as asparagus is (years ago I could always depend on it being on the buffet). Steak used to be a given for breakfast too but there's no surprise there that it's gone, not for only $9.99!! An even bigger however, though, my server tried to find some milk, was told there was none anywhere, but she didn't give up. That's rare. Her name is Gabby.
