When the extended, extended family arrives in town for any reason, Golden Corral pops to the top of our list. Bountiful variety, buffet pricing, long tables, service enough to keep everyone decently satisfied with extra napkins, drink refills, take away used plates and the other small needs of a table full of diners of all ages. March 29th, 2026 a herd of humans gathered to feast. A Sunday, the after church crowd was present in their finery. Other families were in for a Sunday supper. Our crowd gathered from Albuquerque, Northeast Arizona, Deer Valley, Central Phoenix and? Remembering our deceased. I sat next to a lovely woman in her 70's, and two seats away from a six year old. My modest beginnings of spiced beans, cornbread and select salad parts was ultimately supplemented and completed by wings, mashed potators and greens from my left, and a hot dog with one bite gone and a giant helping of mac and cheese. The six year old ran off with my frozen yogurt cone. Such is life. Our service was excellent, a young woman successfuly dealing with her crowded section of The Corral. I'm giving two stars ONLY BECAUSE our server Ashlie was amazing, super empathetic, kind, apologetic, and very attentive. The food however was absolutely disgusting we arrived at 11:30 lunch starts at 11:00 which one would expect to have fresh food unfortunately that was not the case everything was either cold or so hard that it wasn't edible. I did speak with the manager who was very nice about it and actually gave me two certificates to come back which I appreciate but then there was this bald manager who was rude and seem to have an attitude including with his staff very unprofessional as management is the face of the brand. I wish I had just gotten a refund because paying basically 40.00 dollars to enjoy only the salad and dessert wasn't worth it. Hopefully they see this and make some changes. read more

After few years went back to Golden Coral. Did not see much change in the resturant of the food. Huge amount of food to cater to many different taste . Price has gone up quite a bit . You have nice big salad bar . Soupe and selection of Mexican food offering . Pizza and pasta. The grill area making steaks . Carved ham slices . Fried chicken is always good with mashed potato and gravey. Lots of different veges . Few of the vegetables were steamed to death. Broccoli was way overcooked and not tasty at all. Brussel sprouts were brown colored and tasted like crap. Various offering of beans were barely edible. Went to the grill asked some steak and I asked if he had medium done . He cut the steak in half it was well done, I refused that and he cut 2nd steak it was also well done . He could have offered to cook another , but he did not offer. That showed me the service was lousey. The only thing I enjoyed was piece of chicken and corn bread stuffing tiny bit potatoes and lousey green beans. Some fried shrimp are good too. Golden Corral is a staple of my childhood. I used to earn gift certificates in elementary school for good grades and take my entire family! When I found out I lived right down the street from one, I WAS THRILLED! This location is always busy, but being busy is a good thing imo. The cashiers and servers are always so polite. The restaurant is kept surprisingly clean for being so busy. The food is TOP TIER delicious and quickly replenished. I take advantage of their "3 and under eat free" rule and I love to have mini meals with my toddler. This restaurant, its people, and its food always feels like home to me. 10/10 recommended and I have been back probably twice in the last week! read more

Celebrating a Sweet 16 at the birthday girl's favorite restaurant. Our server, Maday, was excellent and attentive. She provided great service. Of course I checked out the menu in advance. I decided I'd only get an omelette and bacon. The cook knows what he's doing. Oh my goodness. That omelette with bacon, onions, green peppers and both yellow & white cheese was DELICIOUS!! A customer came up while my omelette was being made and ordered an omelette in Spanish. I asked what was that. He said spinach. There was no spinach visible. However, I asked if he could add half of what was in the guy's pan. Anymore wouldn't fit. lol I should've stayed away from the buffet after that. The coleslaw is made with vinegar. No thank you. The carrots & raisins tasted funny/spoiled. No thanks. I went back to the buffet to see if there were fried chicken wings or drumsticks. The last wing looked better than the last drumstick. It was tasty. I got a few more strips of bacon. I should've passed. The salt was getting to me. A third visit to the buffet was so so. The Breakfast Pizza was quite tasty. The Bacon Hashbrown Bale is a no and stayed on the plate after one taste. The "dessert" I picked up was labeled incorrectly. I like bananas so ate a little more than half of the muffin. I was pleased that I didn't go overboard. Next time, omelette, little bacon and Breakfast Pizza if they have it. I liked this location better than the restaurant closer to me. Everything needs to improve cleanliness to start with second variety of food was all bland all desserts were frozen and served nothing fresh a hockey. Puck is how it describe what they consider a chicken fried steak. The only thing that seem to be fresh on the entire buffet was the catfish. If you love large amounts of bland food, consider Golden Corral. They have been around for a very long time serving unlimited amounts of food to large numbers of people. There is slight variation from one Golden Corral to another, but they are essentially the same. The senior buffet goes for $12.99. Coffee was included. Now it's $3.99. There were no grilled meats at this lunch. They did offer hush puppies, fried fish, pizza and various types of Mexican food. There were many desserts including cake, pie and frozen custard. Over all the food is good. The restaurant including the restrooms is clean. If you believe that a large amount of food represents value, and value is what you want then this is place for you, even if your pants are a little tight. The food is unlimited. read more

Keeping in mind that this is a Golden Corral Buffet and therefore reviews will vary broadly, for many various reasons, I do want to provide you with my take on this particular location. I am from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, so that is where I would normally eat at a Golden Corral, but I just happened to be in Phoenix for a few days in July, while out west helping out my adult son, who has been homeless for quite some time. It was my son's choice the entire time I was visiting with him and on this particular occasion, he was desirous to eat at "a Buffet." When presented with the options, my son chose Golden Corral. We arrived at this location around 4:00PM, so the grill was not yet churning out the traditional sirloin steaks, but the rest of the buffet was in full swing and everything was in plentiful supply. When I go to a Golden Corral, I really do try and get a little bit of everything and everything I did get during this visit was hot and tasty. (Okay! So, we all know that Golden Corral is not a four- or five-star dining establishment and a lot of people who do eat at Golden Corral - likely the same ones who are eating at Long John Silver's - do not share the details with their snootier friends...) I really enjoyed the fact that the restaurant was clean and that our server was friendly and was obviously giving her best, to all of her table guests. For what it's worth, this Golden Corral location is cleaner than the ones I have visited in the DFW area, and I really have zero complaints. Well, I actually do have "a" complaint; I do not appreciate it that Golden Corral fails to offer a military discount for active duty and retired members of the US Armed Forces. That really is a letdown, but other than that... If you decide to eat at this Golden Corral, or any Golden Corral Buffet for that matter, please keep in mind that the food is being prepared in very large quantities and where there is a buffet, with pizza, chicken nuggets, french fries, and desserts... there will always be children and children always tend to make messes and are loud. First time ever going to a Golden Corral, and there was a hair intertwined throughout the popcorn shrimp. Sometimes that happens, I get it. But when I told the worker he seemed irritated that he was going to have to do something about it. Then took it in the back in a huff and made me feel like he was just going to pull the hair out and not the batch of food. I guess that's why it has the reputation of a gross buffet. read more

I've been a fan of Golden Corral for as long as I can remember and this is one of the better chain locations I've been to. The servers are all friendly and attentive even when it's super busy. We had dinner at Golden Corral and honestly, it wasn't great. The food was below average some of it tasted old or just off. And to make things worse, my aunt found a hair in her food. We told the manager, and he did come over to apologize, which we appreciated. But still, that kind of thing shouldn't happen in the first place. Also, it was freezing inside. Like, actually uncomfortable. We felt like we were eating in a meat locker. We rushed through the meal just to get back to the car and warm up. The one good part? Our bus boy. Then we went in and started paying like normal, and then the manager realizes we're together and he pulls us to the side and acts like we are trying to steal because he says there is a mandatory tip for parties our size, which is fine but then he wanted us to pay for 25 people and we advised there is only 12 of us and we already paid. And he throws a fit and I think it's done. Then he comes to out table asking for a tip and we told him we tipped our server and he is scolding us because he wants the tip on a card. Fuck this place. You have to remember that this is a buffet and not a restaurant. Food sits and sits and sits out for hours. The only HOT item I found was the FRIED CHICKEN that had just been placed out. The fish was WAY over breaded and salty. Wings were so tough I couldn't eat them. Salad Bar was a Salad Bar OK. Steak was cool even after being taken off the grill and not anywhere near tender. Drinks are out of sight at over $3 a piece. Good think our EXCELLENT SERVER IAN brought water. Chocolate pie was awful. Rice Krispie's tasted like they were made last week. The most enjoyable item was the ice cream which gave me a brain freeze. Save you money at $18 each and go to a regular restaurant where you dinner will be served HOT. My wife and I visited this location twice during the run of the Arizona State Fair and once after an Arizona Cardinals game. Friendly cashiers and table service each time. Darius - our favorite server from the Gilbert location - was working at this GC on our last visit. Such a charming and polite server who really takes care of you. The process is simple. Pay as you enter, grab some silverware, and order your drinks which will be brought to your table by your server. So many options. Grab yourself a plate and fill it up. Potatoes of all kinds, meatloaf, vegetables, ham, steak, pizza, chicken, mushrooms, a salad bar, a taco/burrito bar, soups, desserts, etc. The buffet areas were being replenished as quickly as the items disappeared. Great place to bring friends or large groups because of the variety. Every person can eat whatever they like and no two plates will be the same. They provide gloves for the handling of utensils to put food on your plate and have several hand sanitizing stations. They now have an app so you can earn a $10 reward for every $100 you spend. This was my first time to a Golden Corral. I've seen the commercials and always get hungry watching it on tv. We arrived for dinner on a school night. Lots of parking at this location. Upon entering you get in line to pay the cashier before eating. You're asked what kind of drink each person in your group will have. This is printed on a receipt and given to your waiter/waitress when seated so they can know what drinks to bring to your table. Free refills on drinks. Lots of choices to mention when you approach the buffet line. You just grab a clean plate that's stacked nearby and start piling on the food on your plate. My favorites were grilled steak and the meatloaf. I tried 70% of everything that night and no complaints. I just got too full after coming back for more steak on three different returns to the buffet line. Make sure you tell them well done for the steak as I got one that was medium rare so I didn't eat that piece completely. Deserts were very yummy, about a dozen choices from cookies, cakes, pies, and soft serve. I'm sorry there's no pics, I ate like a pig and the last thing I was thinking was to grab my phone. I would definitely come back here, I might have gained 8 lbs just on this dinner alone. I'll go to the gym for a while and than come back. Went for breakfast today. Arrived and found a seat at a clean table. After ordering drinks it was off to the buffet. I ordered a ham & cheese omelette (good). The bacon was saturated in oil and grease (not good). Link sausages were dry. Fried chicken wasn't bad. The carving station had sliced ham (good). Service was great with regular table checks. Came in on a Sunday to eat with my family. Stood in line with my husband and had my mother in law who is elderly and my newborn wait in the car because the line was going outside the door! My husband and I didn't want them to wait outside in the heat as it was 100+ degrees outside. We got to the front to pay and told the worker they were going to come inside and she was very rude. She did not want to help us and she told us to get back in line at the end with my newborn and elderly MIL after waiting about 30 minutes in said line Def not going back because the worker was rude about it. Like did she want them to wait outside in the heat too!? It also looked very unsanitary so we weren't even mad that we weren't able to get seated!
