Wednesday is definitely chicken liver day. This place almost caused me to get admitted to the ER due to a food coma. Smoked chicken and pulled BBQ goodness. If I had found these two items before getting all the other things like squash and zucchini, it would have been the only thing on my plate. Super good, tender, and tasty. Count your days golden corral, because everyday this place is open is a literal miracle. This place got a huge problem with flies buzzing around. There is nothing special ab this place even the bread rolls are hollow, the gravy is watered down just like the drinks . And they didn't even have ice cream cones, so we had to eat it off of a hot place which melted the ice cream. They had a long line for the grill station, but it is not worth the wait, i was fighting for my life trying to eat the meat bc it was so tough. I felt like i was eating straight rubber . It's hit or miss when it comes to Golden corral. But this location is doing a really good job. All the food had a great flavor to it and plenty of it was available at all times. Dining area looked clean and tables were ready for new diners very quickly. Service was very attentive to my drinks being full at all times. The food was good and flavorful. Lots of choices of meats and sides. Our server, Lavanda (I'm sorry if I misspelled) was an absolute breath of fresh air! She was polite and attentive. She kept her area clean and kept rounding to get dirty dishes and asked about refills. She would be the reason I would return and tell others about coming. SHE IS THE REASON FOR THE HIGH STAR RATING!!! As 8p neared, the staff behind the potato/salad area started putting up the fixings. I asked about sour cream and she said there wasn't anymore but they kept putting out more potatoes.... Several people inquired about the sour cream. The manager was loud and show offish. She kept calling for servers and 300. One of the servers was like, we have already completed this. The manager would have known had she walked around to see. At the end of the night, she called for all of the servers to meet at the register area. Where she proceeded to belittle her staff, rolling her neck and waving her fingers In the air. She was threatening towards the ones that work tomorrow telling them that whatever transpired today is the reason they won't be successful tomorrow on their shift. I began to record her and she turned and saw me so she changed her tone. I will not blast it on this but the corporate office is more than welcome to contact me. She should be more loving and nice to her staff because they all seemed to enjoy their job until she started with her rants. My partner and I come to this location every week because we love the service we get from the waitresses and waiters. Candy especially is our favorite who we see every Friday. How strange I used to have a review for this establishment but AGAIN somehow YELP has made it disappear? Golden Corral is a buffet joint and as is expected a lot of the food is of mediocre quality like most buffets. Their grilled steak is probably the best item on the menu and is of a good quality that is above most other buffet joints items. The biggest thing that makes this establishment a real winner is that they have a free dinner for military vets every year for Veteran's Day so as an army vet I would like to offer a sincere THANKS to Golden Corral for doing such a fantastic thing for vets. read more

I e been to the breakfast buffet for the last five weeks and it's delicious Fresh omelets made to order anyway you want Freshly cracked over eggs cooked perfectly The fresh fruit is fresh and delicious The fresh biscuits are huge and amazing The country fried steaks are pre made but very tender everything done really well for about $10.00 and the iced brownies are very very good best breakfast you will find. Our first time at this particular location. I don't think I've eaten at a Golden Corral in at least 10 years. I had forgotten they serve breakfast. The buffet is quite long with dozens of choices to pick from. I was surprised to see that you can get lunch and dinner items at 830am. But at any rate it was a good sized buffet. The quality could of been better,but consider they have are putting everything out in bulk. Speed will trump quality. The bacon was probably the biggest victim. Not a piece was left unburnt. The eggs were obviously liquid egg. Overall, the food was average and I would come back because if you price it to Waffle House, your paying about the same amount but you get to pick more of what you want. 9-26-2017 Barfaroni. My husband and I visited Golden Corral in Hammond about a month ago and felt that all Covid protocols were being met. HOWEVER, tonight was a very different story. People were walking all throughout the restaurant without masks, and many of the waitstaff were wearing their masks below their nose. I spoke with the owner and he was very RUDE. He told me that he wasn't going to ask his customers to wear a mask. When I told him his waitstaff wasn't wearing their mask correctly, he told me this conversation was over! I only went here tonight because my best friends father decided to have his birthday party here. I have actually been here once before and I despised the experience. This night was just as bad. The service was alright, we had one waitress and there were 20 people in our group. Nobody helped her out and I feel like she was pretty overwhelmed by all of us. But she operated okay given the circumstances. The food was terrible! Everything was bland,flavorless, and just gross. The crabcakes tasted like crap instead of crab. The bourbon street chicken had been sitting out too long. The mashed potatoes had lumps. The salad bar was pretty sorry too. I promise you that the ingredients were not fresh. Overall the food was gross and tasteless. The restaurant itself was nasty. I understand the fact that the place was packed with people but they should have had at least one person cleaning up. The restaurant had lots of people tripping over themselves to grab food. It was a real cluster Fuck trying to get by people who jump in and out of your way just to grab one thing. My biggest pet peeve is when I saw some kids touching the food at the buffet with their bare hands and then leaving it there. Not a very sanitary thing I happen to witness. Everything was well stocked on the bar which was clean and the food was hot. Most of the food was tasty. Some items were really bland. Steaks were small, fatty and overcooked. Yeast rolls were undercooked and almost gummy. Waiter came to the table 4x refilling drinks and removing dishes. This place is ALWAYS crowded and the cashiers are usually overwhelmed and have an attitude, the wait staff is really good at keeping the tables clean and the floors from being disgusting with old food that folks have dropped. Kitchen staff keeps the bar filled with food despite the huge crowds of people. If your hungry and want homestyle food in unlimited portions it's a good place to eat for 15 dollars a piece. Food here is always fresh and hot. Place is always PACKED! A testament to their low prices and great selection I can only assume. Were this based on food alone I would give it 5 stars. The place is always so busy and so packed you are running into people and have very little space at your own table without knocking into the table behind you. Staff are courteous the majority of the time. Bathrooms always need attention. Wish desserts where a bit more abundant. Food is totally worth the price and most days worth the fight to get in the door and to a table. Might I add that though the staff is wonderful the majority of the time, most of the patrons are just awful! This place attracts some real trash sometimes.
