Food is usually stocked well and fresh. The service is usually attentive and clear dishes promptly. Their meatloaf does have a slight liver flavor to it-which is not present at other locations. This location can be a bit hit or miss. I'd recommend going at higher traffic times, as they can "slack off" if they're not busy.

Last time I was here it wasn't good at all. Maybe couple years back but it's way better now! So many selections. Big thank you to Marcos and Teresa. Excellent customer service. Will be back .

Selling Groupons they won't honor. Bought a Groupon for this specific location and went to use and was told they no longer accept them. Why even have a Groupon for sale if you aren't going to honor it? The girl at the counter wasn't too friendly when I asked and had concerns. Did not even apologize a staple in customer service.

Dessert. Best thing on this plate is the sugar free jello. Bread pudding is too sweet. The fruits are old.

We have been going to this place since it opened. The first management group was really good and the quality and service is actually excellent. After Covid this place started declining and unfortunately, with the current management this place is just bad. When I go, I have a few favorites in this place, steak is really good. The fried chicken, the fried fish and the shrimp are actually really good. At one time they actually even started serving liver, including chicken liver and then they took that off the menu too. The last few times we have been there the food and the service have been declining. So now let me tell you about tonight. All the foods are either cold or old. I ordered a steak, medium rare and a steak was warm. There were no fresh fried chicken and and even while we were leaving, they still have not put any new ones on. I had to ask him to put some fresh shrimp and some fresh fish on there and she told me there was some in there and I told her that it was cold that's why I'm asking. Now for the soup, the broccoli and cheddar soup I think I assume that's what it is had a greenish brown, thick dried cover on top of it. The clam chowder is starting to build a white yellowish cover, and the chicken noodle was actually the freshest one out of the three. Tonight there was a lot of people in this place and they even have big groups that showed up and I know the big groups were all disappointed when they started serving themselves. They started asking for food that ran out. Service barely showed up. I got up and got my own soda. They need to do something here soon. I am going back to check on this place because I have hopes for them.

Down a star from last year because while I had the free birthday dinner it's still not worth the regular or senior price. They didn't have my favorite dressing Bleu Cheese, deviled eggs, meat loaf, or topping for ice cream hot fudge or caramel. Most of the hot foods wasn't really hot enough and the guy who did steak grill was on his smart phone between me and other customers waiting for them. And fried chicken is too salty. I think I'll avoid this location and try the one on 4th again when I'm around.

I come to Golden Corral in Pomona about twice a month, usually during the work week since it's close to my job site. Being on a keto-ish carnivore diet, a buffet like this just makes sense, quick, cost-effective, and full of meat options. Every time I visit, it's a solid experience. The restaurant is clean, and the food is always well-prepped. None of the meats I've had here have been dry; they're fresh and cooked just right. I especially appreciate the bacon and scrambled eggs, which help me load up on protein without any fuss. The staff here are friendly and on top of things. They clear dishes quickly after I'm done, which I really appreciate. If you're doing a meat-based diet or just want a filling meal with plenty of choices, this spot does the job.

    What's up with the emptiness?

Oh, this place is a goner, 9-6-2025 around 2 PM, lot of food containers are empty, pot roast only with potatoes no beef or gravy what's up with that? They turned air conditioner off, open the side emergency door, toilets were out of service both men and women's side. Looks like water heater is broke too cos food dish are greasy and cold, also, lot of leftovers still stuck on the plate. Dirty dish, empty container without food, no air conditioning , no working toilets what a mess. Lady from the kitchen took out the food from warmer and just place it on top of other food, while putting the new container/food on the warmer. Ok to her to drink the dirty water from the warmer? WOW This place is in mess. Looks like no one cares about their job, no work ethic. Good luck to finding new job, when this place shuts down and blame on bad economy.

Here's the thing about Golden Corral, sometimes you don't want a lot of one type of food but you want a lot of different types of food. In those instances, GC hits the spot. Especially for breakfast I think it shines in its myriad of offerings. I always walk away from breakfast more than satisfied with my experience. At dinner it's pretty good too. Is it "A" quality food? No. But it's B's and C's that make you feel like you got your money's worth. The fried chicken, the roast, and the bourbon chicken are all standouts. I don't know--in a world where more buffets are closing down I think GC is a much-needed alternative to the traditional sit down restaurant.

First time visiting Golden Corral in Pomona. Plenty of parking in the big lot shared with other businesses. Overall Service was okay... Lisa, part of the waitstaff, was exceptional! She took away our used plates & refilled our drinks without us having to ask... Lisa, Thank You for being funny, prompt & attentive. What we needed for a somber day. You are a 10/10. We need more Lisa's! We had a very big group of 50-60 people. We went here on a Friday for a lunch reception after a funeral, for one of our good friends dad. They gave them the private room. Highly, likely wasn't expecting all of us to take up 1/2 of the restaurant. They were accommodating to our large group for additional seating and was able to keep us on one side of the restaurant. Plates were available, just silverware was lacking. We did get a huge stack of forks that were individually packed inside of a sleeve. I appreciate this for sanitary purposes. I didn't take pictures of the buffet set up. But they do have American Food offerings: Salad Bar, Soups, Seafood, Burgers, Fried Chicken, Meatloaf, Pastas, a good assortment of Fruit and Veggies & lots of Desserts. They even had individual Baked Potato & Baked Sweet Potato that you can put endless toppings on. Just needed to crank out more food. It was a busy lunchtime rush. I didn't have a problem, but I overheard some people saying they had to wait in line for chicken. That fried chicken was good! Im glad the Mr grabbed me a fresh piece. I actually liked their meatloaf too. & Definitely can't get enough of their honey butter rolls/buns, especially when it comes out fresh. I was surprised at their dessert selection. Seems like more dessert is offered at this location. I was happy to see there were at least 3 sugar free dessert options. Blueberry Pie, Vanilla Cake & Chocolate Pudding to be exact. I appreciate it, especially for family members who are diabetic... And, they have an Icee Machine. It works, & tasted like Icee from the movie theater haha. The Ladies Bathroom was acceptable, good sized & had plenty of stalls. Mandatory to have hand soap available, just don't look for paper towels to dry your hands.

Nice open air area with a nice breeze on a warm summer night. Our waiter Jordan, was very knowledgeable about the menu and made some great suggestions. As a visual person, it did hamper the ambiance for me, especially since I was sitting right next to it. We were the only table that wasn't a couple, and even when it got more crowded, the noise level was pleasantly low. Our server asked us how we felt about salt, which was very much appreciated. AMARETTO SOUR: 3/5. Very sweet, and orange-forward which is a new flavor profile for this cocktail for me. BREAD & WHIPPED BUTTER: 5/5. Served warm. The bread was pillowy soft, and the butter, (which was more air than butter and therefore definitely zero calories), was delightfully salty. BRUSSELS SPROUTS: 5/5. I've been burned by so many poorly done sprouts that I don't order them anymore, but my partner wanted to try it and I'm so glad we got them. Zero bitterness, and crispier than an newly minted dollar bill. OCTOPUS: 5/5. Grilled to perfection, soft, not rubbery. The spices in the romesco sauce were aromatic and punchy. STEAK TARTARE: 4/5. Good. These crostinis were the most crostinis to have ever crostinied. The perfect vessel for the rich steak. MUSHROOM SOUP: 5/5. This is the first time I've found balance between being truffle-forward without being overbearing. Usually I'm done after about two spoonfuls, but all 3 bowls (shared between 6 of us) were cleaned. SURF & TURF: 5/5. Owen's checks internal and external temperature, which means steak is cooked true to the way it's ordered. More impressive is that they didn't overcook the lobster. A moment for the gorgeous blue plates; they are heirlooms, and only 7 of them exist in the world. CHILEAN SEA BASS: 4/5. For me, the radish did a lot of heavy lifting in balancing out the saltiness of the soy vinaigrette and richness of the fish itself. STEAK FRITES: 4/5. Again, perfectly cooked steak. I only had one fry, and I thought it was a damn good fry, but my partner did say it eventually got salty. And he loves his salt. CAMPING TRIP: 5/5. The crust on the salmon, the theatrics of the hot rock, the fresh veggies. It's a classic for a reason. MAITAKE MUSHROOM: 4/5. While it was good, I didn't find myself continuously reaching for more, as I nearly always do with mushrooms. ROBUCHON POTATOES: 5/5. AKA indulgent, buttery velvet. A labor of love well received. STRAWBERRY TART: 5/5. While the strawberries were phenomenal, the vanilla (?) custard was a little heavy for me. My mom inhaled it though. CRÈME BRÛLÉE: 5/5. So good. I don't know when it became normalized to serve crème with an Ozempic-thin layer of brûlée, but thank you Owen's for not doing that.
