Food is usually stocked well and fresh. The service is usually attentive and clear dishes promptly. Their meatloaf does have a slight liver flavor to it-which is not present at other locations. This location can be a bit hit or miss. I'd recommend going at higher traffic times, as they can "slack off" if they're not busy. read more

I recently went to Golden Corral with my adult daughter for dinner and was disappointed by the overall experience. In the past, I've felt that the food quality was better than mediocre and the wait staff was friendly and capable. On this occasion, the food had been sitting out for too long and was lukewarm and not tasty at all. Neither of us felt satisfied with the meal and left not wanting to return in the future. I know that in today's economy it is difficult to run a AYCE buffet restaurant and turn a profit, but perhaps the concept has come to the end of its life. We have been going to this place since it opened. The first management group was really good and the quality and service is actually excellent. After Covid this place started declining and unfortunately, with the current management this place is just bad. When I go, I have a few favorites in this place, steak is really good. The fried chicken, the fried fish and the shrimp are actually really good. At one time they actually even started serving liver, including chicken liver and then they took that off the menu too. The last few times we have been there the food and the service have been declining. So now let me tell you about tonight. All the foods are either cold or old. I ordered a steak, medium rare and a steak was warm. There were no fresh fried chicken and and even while we were leaving, they still have not put any new ones on. I had to ask him to put some fresh shrimp and some fresh fish on there and she told me there was some in there and I told her that it was cold that's why I'm asking. Now for the soup, the broccoli and cheddar soup I think I assume that's what it is had a greenish brown, thick dried cover on top of it. The clam chowder is starting to build a white yellowish cover, and the chicken noodle was actually the freshest one out of the three. Tonight there was a lot of people in this place and they even have big groups that showed up and I know the big groups were all disappointed when they started serving themselves. They started asking for food that ran out. Service barely showed up. I got up and got my own soda. They need to do something here soon. They didn't have my favorite dressing Bleu Cheese, deviled eggs, meat loaf, or topping for ice cream hot fudge or caramel. Here's the thing about Golden Corral, sometimes you don't want a lot of one type of food but you want a lot of different types of food. In those instances, GC hits the spot. Especially for breakfast I think it shines in its myriad of offerings. I always walk away from breakfast more than satisfied with my experience. At dinner it's pretty good too. Is it "A" quality food? No. But it's B's and C's that make you feel like you got your money's worth. The fried chicken, the roast, and the bourbon chicken are all standouts. I don't know--in a world where more buffets are closing down I think GC is a much-needed alternative to the traditional sit down restaurant. read more

First time visiting Golden Corral in Pomona. Plenty of parking in the big lot shared with other businesses. Overall Service was okay... Lisa, part of the waitstaff, was exceptional! We need more Lisa's! We had a very big group of 50-60 people. We went here on a Friday for a lunch reception after a funeral, for one of our good friends dad. They gave them the private room. Highly, likely wasn't expecting all of us to take up 1/2 of the restaurant. They were accommodating to our large group for additional seating and was able to keep us on one side of the restaurant. Plates were available, just silverware was lacking. We did get a huge stack of forks that were individually packed inside of a sleeve. I appreciate this for sanitary purposes. I didn't take pictures of the buffet set up. But they do have American Food offerings: Salad Bar, Soups, Seafood, Burgers, Fried Chicken, Meatloaf, Pastas, a good assortment of Fruit and Veggies & lots of Desserts. They even had individual Baked Potato & Baked Sweet Potato that you can put endless toppings on. Just needed to crank out more food. It was a busy lunchtime rush. I didn't have a problem, but I overheard some people saying they had to wait in line for chicken. That fried chicken was good! Im glad the Mr grabbed me a fresh piece. I actually liked their meatloaf too. & Definitely can't get enough of their honey butter rolls/buns, especially when it comes out fresh. I was surprised at their dessert selection. Seems like more dessert is offered at this location. I was happy to see there were at least 3 sugar free dessert options. Blueberry Pie, Vanilla Cake & Chocolate Pudding to be exact. I appreciate it, especially for family members who are diabetic... And, they have an Icee Machine. It works, & tasted like Icee from the movie theater haha. Decent food and great selection. We come here with the family once in a while for the variety, especially when you have kids. I enjoy the fried fish and shrimp, and some of the hot entrees. Some things can be really good and some really basic. The salad bar didn't look too fresh on our last visit, so I stayed away. I've been going to this location since it opened. The management has clearly changed post COVID because the restaurant fell off a cliff. Clean plates don't exist anymore; they just stack them up with water and God knows what else on them. This goes for the utensils as well. There's a strange smell when you walk in, like there was a water leak or something that wasn't properly taken care of and mold is now growing under the carpet. Food quality can be decent, but isn't replenished properly. Their fried chicken and steaks are still solid. I've been going less and less to this location. read more

Stopped by this Golden Corral on a Monday night since we were in the area. It was our first time here since we last visited before the pandemic started. I didn't realize this place has become so run down. The staff had us sit on one side of the buffet since the other side was closed. We had to switch booths because the table was loopsided and was not stable. The booth seat also had a major tear. The food was mediocre at best. The horchata machine was dispensing watered down horchata. The pizza was cold and some of the food was under the warmers too long. The best tasting food were the biscuits. One batch of mashed potatoes was kind of dry until they brought out a new batch. The gravy was good and the fruit was nice as well. The corn was flavorful but it looked overcooked. The chocolate brownie was too sweet but the dipped marshmallow was fine. Overall, I don't plan to be back until they completely remodel and get better staff. We were also overcharged because the cashier charged us for an employee meal which was $5.99 after they charged us for dinner meals and drinks. As a vegetarian, I appreciate that there are a mix of cooked vegetables, pinto beans, and a salad bar. I also appreciate the variety of eggs (scrambled, deviled, and hardboiled) as well. I eat well every time I come here. The buffet is spacious, easy to navigate, and the food is presented in an organized fashion. The workers here are very kind and greet you with a smile. Recently, I came here and forgot to take my gift from a friend. I was so worried it was thrown away, and one of the workers even took the time to help me look through the trash! We ended up finding it in another area fortunately. I will never forget his kindness, and I will never forget the workers who made sure my gift was safe and secured. I've heard about Golden Corral by ear and social media but never had the opportunity to try it until recently. Parking is pretty easy in a large plaza. I found the entrance to be a little clunky to navigate, since the beverage station was where the line began. The staff were all friendly and easy to interact with; however, I think the food could have been better. As a blanket comment, I found most of their food to be way too salty. Starting with the soups, I found the chicken noodle soup to be as expected, but the clam chowder to be too salty. I couldn't make it past the first sip. The entrees were a mixed bag. Most of the breaded entrees were too salty. The steamed fish was more on the bland side, and a relief from the other items. Of all the entrees that I sampled, the pork steak and pot roast (?) mix were among the better dishes. Overall, I was disappointed that of all the food I got, I was only able to enjoy about half. I didn't have the opportunity to try their dessert section, but I am also not too big a fan of sweets. read more
