We went to the Golden Coral today early afternoon, I enjoy eating the fish they serve. Once we got there to look for food we noticed the food bars half empty, the fish was extremely greasy and they added anoder fish that was very spicy. There was barely any fruit, they had no tomatoes at the salad bar. I looked for the Manager to let him know about my disappointment with the food, also mentioned that the tags for the food didn't match what was served. The only response I received from him was, "I need to check I just got here". This is really not what Golden Coral stands for, and we have eaten at many all over the USA. Most definitely we will not eat at Colden Coral in Sheridan again. What a big disappointment. read more

Last time we ate here it was so dirty and gross. We saw kids sticking their hand into the chocolate fountain, licking their hand, and sticking it back in. Where the heck were the adults?! I told them to stop and was super grossed out. People coughing over the food. So many tables with dirty dishes piled up. The buffet in general seemed like a lot of items were sitting there for a while. The employees seem annoyed to be asked anything. The food is so bad now I don't know what to compare to. I got greens and cabbage. If I did not know what I ordered I wouldn't be able to tell if I got the right order. Plenty of parking upon arrival. The initial greeting of the young male cashier was lackluster and unhelpful. Our server did a much better job with our first visit attention and guidance. I think her name was Mica. Older Asian woman with a M name. She wrote her name on our ticket like a signature. After getting our drinks. We enjoyed a buffet with a variety of delicious food. It's a good deal for your money. The establishment has a lot of energies among fellow hungry patrons. We were able to find a cozy area in the back room. Thank you for supporting our veterans!! I was in to have breakfast this morning and was very happy to see you have a special room and price for the veterans!! It was very gratifying to see that there was an American flag in the room and the vets doing the pledge of allegiance. I joined them. On Thursday I was at the buffet at the Lodge in BlkHwk when it opened. Much of the food there was cool - yours was all hot. Haven't been to this location in several years, so decided to try it again at 11:30 a.m. today. Would rate quality no more than a 2/5 and that's being kind. Started with a salad which was average at best. Tried a deviled egg which tasted strange/bad, so threw it out. Tried meat loaf which tasted strange/bad, so threw it out. Buttered rolls were good. Wanted to try fried chicken, but only two large misshapen pieces to choose from, so kept checking to see if the bin would be refilled with identifiable pieces, but never was. Think the workers were focused on pushing anyone to take the two available pieces before adding more. Ate some bland pot roast, mashed potatoes and baked beans. Baked beans were ok. Diarrhea then hit, so made a quick trip to the restroom and then left. Several bouts of diarrhea since then. I only tried the food that looked somewhat appetizing and skipped the others. Couldn't speak for the desserts though. The carrot cake and pecan pie looked like they might be good, but didn't feel like dessert after eating some of the other selections and then feeling queazy. We were in Englewood so my friend and I decided to try out a buffet nearby. The closest was Golden Corral. I think it's been nearly 10 years since I last went to one. I remember finding their food back then to be good and the restaurant to be a great place for us to meet with military friends in Savannah. This weekend we came in during dinnertime and the meal total was just under $20. Not bad really. I started off with salad and found the salad bar to have a decent selection. Nothing too extravagant, but good enough. After the salad, I went to choose from a smorgasbord of delicious entrees. I like to try a little bit of everything, although I eventually found out that was impossible, as there were too many dishes offered. My favorite was the steak, cooked rare. It was perfectly seasoned and very savory. The dessert bar was decent. In Georgia where I last went to Golden Corral, there was a liquid chocolate fountain for people to dip their dessert. This wasn't offered here. Instead, I tried the strawberry cake, which tasted bland, so I switched to the chocolate cream pie, which was very good. The color of the vanilla ice cream looked off and tasted ok. I will also mention that our server was very nice and refilled our waters as needed. The empty plates were taken away and the table cleared regularly. Lastly, the parking was good as there were ample spaces available. In the end, this was a great place for the price and I would bring my family here. read more

Come here hungry and put on the feedbag. I came here for lunch one day and was amazed at all the buffet style tables they had full of every type of everyday food you could imagine. Roast Beef, pizza, burgers, tacos, fried chicken, catfish, eggrolls, mac and cheese, corn, green beans, and a ton of other veggies. A whole table for salads, and a whole table for deserts which included pies, cakes, puddings, cookies, ice cream and much more and that was just scratching the surface. I grabbed a plate and loaded up and loaded up and loaded up so many times because I didnt want to miss out on any of the food. I felt like such a fat little kid when I was leaving. This is a typical buffet. I always think at nearly 18 dollars a person, it's a tad pricey. They do seem to take great care with keeping the food fresh and the building very clean. That's always a plus. The wait staff today was my issue. She just acted like getting us our drinks and dealing with refills are a chore she would prefer not doing. I have eaten at this restaurant as well as the one in Aurora. The difference is the one in Aurora has no flavor and this one has plenty of flavor in the food. I don't recommend going to the Aurora Golden corral but coming here instead it's worth a trip! read more

Let's start with what is good about this place... Nothing!! Whew that was easy Now strap in and get ready for a road trip!! I know I know this is a buffet but it doesn't have to seem like a bunch of pigs eating at a trough! The food is poorly managed and it feels like everyone has just given up here. Sure we don't expect Gordon Ramsey in the back for 15,00 a plate but then again, we shouldn't expect our 6th grade lunch lady cooking in the back either. Wait that's not fair my lunch lady was a way better cook. We paid for the up charge for I think was steak but I have eaten horse meat that was closer to beef then that " steak". The shrimp is frozen and who ever cooked it evidently cant follow simple instructions on the box it was hard, and probably 3 days old. Totally inedible. I'm not sure what the mystery meats are but I'm prettier sure ASPCA dogs would walk away from this...poor dogs they deserve better. Salad bar left a lot to be desired. But it was the best thing over all. However I'm not sure what this is?? We eat at the Golden Corral on the average of once or twice a month, which is way more often than I would like but the hubby likes buffets. In a nutshell, sometimes the food is okay, but more often than not, too many items are way oversalted or over-seasoned. I don't know why some restaurants insist on doing this. There are always salt and pepper shakers on the tables if people want their food a little saltier, but once the salt is on the food, there's no way to remove it if it's too much. I'm guessing they waste a lot because people aren't able to eat what they've put on their plates. That, in addition to the many gluttons who just take way too much. They do a better job of washing the dishes and silverware now than they did pre-pandemic. I guess they got new dishwashing equipment somewhere along the line, but sometimes the plates still aren't as clean as they could be. On the plus side, their clam chowder and breaded shrimp are usually quite good, and the service is generally decent. I'm giving this place 2 stars because of the chronic oversalting issue. There are probably worse places to eat, but there are definitely better ones too. read more

Wife and I went to Golden corral at 2:30 in the afternoon on the second week of March. We had no waitress getting us drinks or clearing any plates. One tall waiter guy showed up after a shift change, he stood in the corner in the back room by the exit sign and was vaping and talking on his phone. I finally got up and got my own drinks. Then my wife saw this waiter guy take a photograph of a messy table that was left him from a family with a bunch of messy kids and she heard him mumble to himself by saying, "and not even a tip?" Country buffet shouldn't give discounts to children but rather charge them double for the mess they leave. This restaurant usually has good food at a low price with decent service. I had high hopes for this one. I ordered a chicken dinner, white meat. Got a drumstick? and 1/2 breast. Unfortunately the chicken meat was rubbery, stringy and a darker color for white meat than am used to. My cat didn't even like it. Maybe they marinate it? The crispy coating was tasty but, greasy. The food is scrumptious, the servers keep up with the large crowds of people from getting drinks to clearing off the tables and cleaning up the messes from the kids on the floor.
