Doesn't look like much , I believe they need to remodel it. It is very dirty looking and the food usually appears dried out. They replace very few things as they should. So for the amount of your meal cost. The cleanliness of the store should be a must and the food fresh. The wait staff do a very good job of keeping up with the customers. But overall this is not one I'd recommend, the one in Tallahassee.

This is getting a solid four-stars from me. As a reminder, I rate much in the same way as the real-estate "comps" model. I'm comparing this to other buffets in town. It'd be foolish to compare it to, say, Yostie's Chili Parlor or Bahn Thai, right? This stands out against other buffets. Generally, in TLH, you have two varieties: 1. Chinese/Asian buffet and 2. "Country vittles" buffet. This is neither. This reminds me of the mess halls of my childhood at a couple of overseas bases (Torrejon AB and Ramstein AB). Granted, it probably leans more towards an O-Club than an NCO-Club mess hall, but it has that feel nonetheless. In large measure, it's because it attracts a noticeable number of color-wearing vets. You're going to get a lot of "Thank you for your Service" opportunities here, in my experience. The price is right. Definitely a solid value. You walk in, get your drink/receipt, and then you can either get in line right away or call dibs on a decent table while one of you holds down the fort whilst the others load up. "Loading up" options are varied. For me, the logical sequence is to begin behind the drink-stand at the reception, and work clockwise back to the opposite end where the soup vessels are found. In between those two points you'll have a broad range of choices (taco/fillings, pot roast, pizza, brussel sprouts - until you get to the meat/grill station, where there, you'll find all things protein (yes, steak is available at the temperature requested. I know, since I'm the "medium-rare" or "rare" guy and consistently get it spot-on. Salad bar is not Jason's Deli, but it's good. Dessert Bar is where the market is cornered. The chocolate fountain is clearly a draw - and there's the full spectrum of desserts to boot. You'll find me/us here 2-4 times annually - but I understand why folks might visit more frequently.

Soooo it's Golden Corral. You shouldn't be expecting much from this place. Service was slow to non existent. It's is a buffet in all fairness. Food: couple items may have hit the mediocre level but everything else is from bad to below mediocre. Still not sure why I'm here (I was kinda dragged) but believe me next time I will fight harder against it. Pros: their bread rolls and if you're feeling glutinous this place is for you...

We started off with the "Devils on Horseback" which are basically shrimp jalapeño poppers. We were told they weren't too spicy, but I was literally rubbing ice on my lips from the heat! I should've expected them to be spicy from the literal name of them being called a devil haha. The flavor was absolutely there, but for $15 I was hoping that it would come with more than 4. For our entrees, we had the "Boom Boom Shrimp Tacos" and the "Ribeye Sliders". The sliders were my favorite of the two, but the tacos were also delicious! The sweet potato fries here are great also :) I also ordered a double strawberry mule, and it most definitely did the job for a decent price. Our waitress was so kind (I completely forgot to get her name though) and gave great dessert recommendations!

I rarely complain -- I've been a server myself, so I understand how things can get -- but there were only four tables in the entire restaurant and we still felt ignored. It took a long time just to be greeted, and even longer to get our drinks, despite the place being almost empty. The food itself was good, but the service didn't improve. She only asked if my husband wanted another beer and didn't offer refills to anyone else at the table. We also waited way too long to get our bill. When my husband asked (twice) if Walk-On's offered a military discount, she went ahead and ran the card anyway and acted like she didn't hear the question. She eventually got it corrected, but the interaction felt careless. When she brought the check back, she even told us NOT to fill out the survey -- which honestly felt like she knew the service hadn't been good. As someone who works in this industry, I know how important those surveys are.

However, on a recent trip I discovered something a bit disturbing and honestly confusing. I was with a group of colleagues, and three of us have Alpha Gal (red meat allergy caused by the lone star tick). Thankfully I desensitized myself enough that I can eat SOME red meat. The other two are highly sensitive. I ordered the wings again and passed them around to share. One of my AG friends ate one and the other asked the waitress if there is cross contamination. We were informed that the wings are fried in BEEF tallow. I panicked because the one friend is so sensitive that she can't even go to a petting zoo with hoofed mammals without reacting. So lucky that she had taken an Allegra that day which helps with the allergy enough that one wing fried with beef fat won't cause anaphylaxis. However, if the other girl had eaten it, she very likely could have had a terrible reaction. It does not state on the menu that the wings are fried in beef tallow. It's very important that allergens such as this are noted. I would never have thought myself that it was fried in beef fat. I would've thought it was vegetable or peanut oil. I would hope that this restaurant will add red meat allergens to their menu as Alpha Gal is becoming more and more common. Better yet, don't use beef products to cook chicken products.

Not many places have it on the menu these days. Some friends had mentioned Texas Roadhouse a few weeks ago, so we gave it a go. There were a lot of cars in the lot for so early on a Friday. There were a lot of customers in the restaurant as well! A host greeted us and shortly afterward showed us to a booth. Our server delivered freshly baked yeast rolls with a cinnamon spread. She took our beverage orders and returned with them quickly. I inquired whether prime rib was available and she informed us that they slow cook it overnight and they had plenty. We ordered a 10oz and a 12oz, both mid rare, with creamy horse radish and jus. Mashed and a Caesar salad for one, broccoli and Caesar for the other. The salads came out quickly and on chilled plates. Our server returned quickly and said the entrees were ready, did we want to wait a few minutes - yes was our response. We were finishing salads and she returned with our entrees. Generous cuts perfectly cooked. They were delicious and tender! The one thing we would change - the rub used was too thick and salty of a crust on the meat. Both of us trimmed it off. Overall - a delicious meal. We will be back next time we are hankering for a good prime rib dinner!

It was extremely busy when we arrived so we decided to place a pickup order instead of dining in, thinking it would be quicker and easier. Unfortunately, our food still came out over 20 minutes later than the quoted time, which kind of defeated the purpose of ordering ahead but by that time we were starving and just happy to have some food in front of us. When we opened it up however, it was disappointing across the board. There was no sauce included at all, like not on the food itself and not packaged on the side. That meant everything was dry and pretty bland. I was actually kind of bewildered. We ended up going to another place nearby to grab some drinks so that we could choke down the dry food. Maybe it was just a fluke since this place has pretty good ratings or they we're just so overwhelmed that someone decided to leave the sauces off so that the food didn't get soggy and someone else forgot to put them in so that the food had flavor. Either way, this was a very disappointing meal.
