Went in with the kids tonight. Had almond chicken dinner, sweet and sour dinner, sesame dinner with chicken fried rice and shrimp fried rice. Also came with egg rolls and wonton soup. Egg rolls were so fresh and crispy. Soup flavor was phenomenal. (And I'm picky about my wonton soup) All the chicken for the dinners were fresh and crispy even with the sauce on it. Customer Service was great. Had a young gentleman who was on top of everything and I mean everything. Didn't have to flag him down or look for him. Refills for drinks, boxes, picking up empty dishes. He was on it. We really appreciate good customer service and attentiveness and he did just that. read more

Ordered takeout from here and had a positive experience. The only negative was the time to pick up and the egg role sauce. We were quoted 35 minutes and it took an hour to get our food. This review is based on my only visit to pick up our traditional Christmas eve Chinese dinner (take out). From my experience over some 20+ years of picking up a large take out order to feed as many as 6-8 people, Christmas eve has to be the busiest night of the year from many Chinese restaurants and our visit on 12/24/2020 was no exception. My son called ahead and was given a pick-up time of 6:00pm. we waited over 40 minutes as they we slammed. We ordered six different entrees along with both wonton and egg drop soup, crab Rangoon and eggrolls. They shorted our order 3 eggrolls. Not good when you're an eggroll lover like me. (minus 1 star) The food was quite good so I have to say I'd recommend this family owned and run establishment. Just moved to town and read great things about this place, so gave it a chance tonight. So grossed out and disappointed. At pick up the restaurant smelled like raw sewage (husband mentioned that AFTER we ate). Sweet and sour chicken was soggy and no sweet to it at all - just vinegar! Egg rolls were over cooked and had no veggies in them. Maybe we were spoiled coming from the west coast but nothing in our meal I would order again. After 3 entrees, two soups and an appetizer, I have no desire to give this restaurant a second chance. read more

Haven't had it for about 15 years. I moved to the city. I haven't found anything out here that was as good as Golden Dragon. I could live on the Pork Dumplings with plum sauce. Do NOT order from here! Five of my coworkers and I all ordered this for dinner at work and not one single meal was good. It took 2 HOURS from when we called even though when we picked it up the place was empty. I personally ordered the chow mein and it was disgusting. They have me a tub of vegetables and a bag of dried noodles? They were supposedly noodles but were more like the tiny crunchy things that go on salads. They tasted awful. I couldn't even eat the meal because of how bad it was and one of my coworkers said it was the worst chinese food she's ever had. I went there twice and was disappointed both times. The first time I went I ordered their "Pad Thai" which was not pad Thai because they used pad see ew noodles with pad Thai sauce. The second time I went I ordered their yellow curry and there wasn't any curry broth. It was a plate of vegetables with light bad curry sauce. Would not recommend this place. This place has been in my hometown I think forever. I believe I wasn't impressed my first couple times a long time ago. Having few options this last New Year's Eve, I did carry out. My take is that it's pretty average Chinese fare, with nice egg rolls (crispy and not greasy), good wonton and egg drop soup. Wife got shrimp fried rice and I got Mongolian beef, both were... meh. I believe this is a place you have to try different items but would stick with actual Chinese dishes as it is Chinese owned and operated. My complaints would be it is a little bland on spice, I ordered mine "hot" and would say it was closer to mild. I'd also recommend adding soy sauce (comes included) because the food not salty at all (doubt they use msg - which is a good thing). Also I wish they added vegetables (bamboo shoots, broccoli etc...). During cooking because they're obviously added long before hand and mushy. GREAT place for your Chinese food cravings. Service is always great whether dine in or take out. Good variety of options and always fresh. Admittedly, the place is kind of a dump. But the food and service more than make up for it. Staff is super friendly, if a little too chatty at times (may be my fault for becoming a regular). Food is fresh and reliable, always delicious and the portions and price can't be beat. Sizzling rice soup, General Tao, and Almond Chicken are some of our family's favorites. Is everything here frozen deep fried and soaked in msg? First time ordering from here. Picked up carry out. Lo mein noodles were mushy and over cooked with cheap msg sauce. "General Tso" chicken was hard chewy bits wrapped in soggy breading soaked in wet runny sauce. Not crispy at all. Wonton soup was brine with tiny flakes of green onions mushy dumplings with no meat inside. I squeezed and egg roll and almost filled up the 2oz dipping cup with grease. It's hard for me not to be bias but I grew up in Oxford and ever since I have moved away I am been looking for a Chinese restaurant that compares. I have had no luck. I love the almond boneless chicken it has a yellow sauce (I wish knew the correct name) instead that salty brown sauce you find at other places. Also when you order chicken, beef or shrimp you get a actually normal size pieces of these meats you would expect. I have try most things on the menu and have them like them all. I will admit thou I have not tried any of the thai dishes but when I go there I am not look for Thai specific food. I highly recommend this restaurant, the owner and waiter are incredibly kind. Even known they are pretty busy all the time with carry out and very busy on the weekend for eating in they keep the place running smoothly. Egg roll was fresh, hot, and crispy (not pre cooked and sitting in a heating tray). I was in the mood for bean sprouts so I opted for basic chicken chop suey - it didn't disappoint (added red chili sauce to spice it up). I went there on a whim because I don't know any good chinese restaurants in my area, because it was close and I was STARVING! The place only had one customer in it, which made me a bit leary. The waiter was a character and he was super friendly. They had the typical Chinese horoscope placemats, which I love and the decor was pretty simple. I got the Almond Chicken (typical fave) and the bf got Thai Curry Chicken..It came with soup, egg roll, and a fortune cookie. The food was actually good and more people started to walk in as I was eating. The price was a little on the high side, given that I usually get the $6.00 carry-out anywhere else I go. I love Golden Dragon. It is an Oxford classic. I have been eating out here ever since I was a little kid 15 years ago. The owner (who runs the register) is a little bit rude, but I've gotten used to it. The server though works very hard and has been doing so forever. My family and I have this weird tradition of going to eat here on Christmas Eve (because everywhere else is closed) and he treats us like a family friend. The food is good, too. I love the friend dumplings and their eggrolls are great. I usually end up getting General Tso's chicken along with sweet & sour chicken. Relatively cheap pricing as well. read more
