It's good to be able to sit down and eat inside the restaurant. I stopped in again today for a lunch special of chicken cashew and egg drop soup. Decor inside hadn't changed since before the pandemic. Service was quick and friendly. I got my soup ahead of my chicken. My dish had plenty of cashews. The big surprise was the price: my lunch special was only $7.34! A fast food combo meal is easily twice that. read more

Very disappointed! Was there a year ago... And I really like the place. I would give it 4 stars last year. It went down hill big time. I really think that they have new owners. Entrance is different. The tables look new. The plates look new. They were NOT playing Chinese music like other Chinese restaurants do. They were playing English music. We sat down. Nobody came over. We waited, waited and waited. Eventually someone came over. We almost walked out. She asked if we were dining in or ordering out. We said we were dining in.... That is why we were sitting at a table. I asked for a kids menu. They said they don't have a kids menu. I told them that they had one last year. She told me that that recently change the menu. I asked if they had BBQ ribs. Lady said yes. We told her that it is not on the menu. She insisted it was on the menu. But she could not find it. They never give us chips when we first sit down. Husband got dinner plate. He got a Japanese Bento box for his Mongolian beef. I got the ribs. The ribs were super dry and tough. The one was so tough - I could not tear apart. I send that one back. I had to wave the waitress down for water. I drink the water up because the meat was so dry. She finally came 5 minutes later with water with little ice. Very disappointed with this restaurant. I still really like the staff and the fried rice, but I will say their pad thai should be taken off the menu. It isn't good. It tastes mostly of fish sauce and peanuts. We like the food here pretty well but we are baffled about why they serve the food on a divided tray. It seems that that makes the portions smaller and it makes it hard to mix the rice with the main dish. The main dish that we both had was good. However the egg rolls were mushy and pretty much inedible. This restaurant could become a much better place with just a few changes. Well they remodeled & increased prices considerably. $15 for broccoli beef imo is California pricing & as their food is decent for Sierra Vista it's not $15 good. Lunch specials used to be affordable & a nice treat to meet up with your friends during the week, after seeing the "boxes" instead of plates they are now using to serve dine in lunch I'll pass. I did order a to go lunch special & it looks like the lemon chicken had gone up $3. They might even be charging for takeout boxes now mixed with the tax amount. On the up side the inside looks nice, more roomy now that they did away with some of the seating in the middle. What big parties that used to eat in the middle are going to do now is unknown. read more

My go to restaurant for Chinese food in Sierra Vista. While I generally have the chicken fried rice - with extra egg and bean sprouts - the chicken curry and cashew chicken are also good. The wait staff is friendly and the service is always solid. read more

IF you select the correct entree the food is great. If you pick the wrong one be careful. Management likely knows what they do best and what's popular. Management is smart here. Start with the best selling and dispose of the remainder of the menu. Unfortunately the entire facility appears ready to fall apart and is unlikely to be salvaged. A strange multi door entry feels like a trap. Most customers want to see where they are going. Like many restaurants where deep frying is integral, every surface appears to have a layer of grease. It does not have to be this way if habitually cleaned from the start. A new location 1/2 the size (plenty of empty spaces in the run down strip mall that houses it to move to), an updated menu, focusing on popular entrees, and a host/hostess that smiles with clear annunciation "Welcome to the Golden Dragon! " would save this family run favorite. Hopefully it won't die with its owner. However her consistent grumpy mood may indicate it will be hard to change until she has fewer pains. Perhaps a new management team would be a good place to start? read more

This place went into a significant transformation in the last 12 months. The dining area seem to be packed at lunch hour with regulars. I don't know where some of these other reviewers have eaten chinese food before. It makes me wonder. I was in town for work and decided to give this place a try. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken lunch special to go. When I came to pick it up, I asked for some hot mustard. The lady working there replied "you didn't ask for any". Wait a minute...I just did! Anyway, on to the food. The Kung Pao was bland as was the rice. The "egg roll" looked like 1/2 of a miniature taquito. I also had the hot and sour soup, which was awful. Never again. This was our first time to eat here and we were impressed. We were met at the door by a smiling young server who showed us to a booth and took our drink order for hot tea. She returned shortly to take our order. I ordered Shrimp & Veg. and my wife ordered Chicken & Veg. The lunch specials come with choice of Soup, Egg Roll and Fried Rice. Our Hot & Sour soup came out quickly and was followed by the meals. Everything was served hot, fresh and delicious. The shrimp and chicken were very generous portions. I purchase take-out at the Golden Dragon this last weekend and it was not good. The sesame chicken was overcooked. The beef fried rice tasted stale and the "beef" didn't taste at all like beef. What's more I got food poisoning as I developed uncontrollable diarrhea after eating there. I know for a fact that it was the Golden Dragon as I vomited up the fried rice. It's easily the worst Chinese food I've ever had in my life and the only Chinese food to make me sick. read more

Well we walked in and just told to pick a seat, said ordering takeout, lady said just kinda looked at us. Never asked if we wanted water or tea, never came got our order, finally we went up to order our food, had questions, got home and egg rolls are about a inch if that, fried wontons were burnt. Me & the Broheim used to drive out to the far ends of town to the Fortune Cookie for their General Tso's Chicken. Sadly that mom & pop is closed. My boss loved coming here for the occasional team lunches, so decided to give this a shot on our own. I wasn't too impressed with the Mongolian Beef, but my not-so-easily-impressed Bro really enjoys the Sweet & Sour Chicken & Lo Mein noodles. Our server is always a hoot, with a lovely side of sass, despite how busy she is. We highly recommend the amazing bargain of the Special Dinner Plates at the bottom of page 3 of the menu. For $8.95 or $9.95 you can choose from Mongolian Beef, Beef Brocolli, Kung Pao Chicken, Shrimp with Vegetables, Chicken, Pork or Beef Chow Mein, and Chicken, Pork or Beef Lo Mein for the main dish. Along with the main dish, you get Fried Rice, Egg Roll, Sweet & Sour Chicken or Pork, Hot & Sour Soup or Egg Flower Soup (with Wonton Soup option for an extra $1.) This is an excellent option for sleepy bobbleheaded nightshifters who can't decide on one item. The food was okay but the staff was just so rude. There is an older lady maybe in her 50s or 60s who just seems to be upset at everything and was just disrespectful to me and my friends when we came in for pick up. I called a day before and a young lady picked up, I asked if they made general tso's tofu since it was not on the menu and they said they do. The price the young lady told me for general tso's tofu $10.99. I call the next day to order food for me and my friends and an older lady picked up. On the phone the older lady had a bit of an attitude. I place the order anyways and told her that we will be paying separately. When we get there she gives the final bill with all of our food on one bill. I politely ask her can we pay separately and she gave such an ugly disgusting look like I threw trash at her and she rudely asks us if we want it in separate bags... She then told me my price for the general tso's tofu and she was like $14.10 and demands my card immediately, like a teacher taking away our phone in class. She was already pissed at us for paying separately and I was like forget the hassle and did not want to deal with her. I gave it to her cause I was done with her attitude, was so hungry and wanted to leave. I did not leave a tip cause of my experience, which is very rare for me. My total would have come out to that much anyways with a tip but I was trying so hard to be nice to her but she was just so rude. They even gave us the wrong rice, just all kinds of mess. So I've been here before and had other items on the menu. I was craving some duck and I seen they had it on the menu. I ordered the duck and chicken wings. I specifically asked where the wings whole wings and they young lady stated it was. When I got there to pick up my order, it wasn't whole wings but just drums and flats. I was like ok, hopefully the duck would be good. So I get to eat my food and the duck was very dry, some pieces were overcooked. I don't know if I'll revisit this establishment again. read more
