D&M is under new ownership in the last year. The new owner, Harry, is really exceptional. He runs an honest business and his team does superb work. I had my VW Sportwagen in for him to repair a broken side mirror (clipped while parked). He was able to salvage most of the expensive bits and getting it looking like new for a very reasonable price. Most shops would have replaced the whole assembly, but they found a better way. Where do i begin........ I had a horrible experience with my car being broken into. I was sad and freaked out, unable to deal with all of what was being put in front of me. First thing i know i had to do is fix the broken window, that made me feel more vulnerable and exposed. I was so lucky to be given Harry's name and number at D and M auto body. I got rear-ended and decided to have the repair work done at Golden Gate Collision based on Yelp reviews. I could not be happier with the whole experience from start to finish! I was able to drop my car off immediately after calling to check availability - no appointment needed. I was greeted by Harry, the owner of the shop, who was the main point of contact throughout the repair. Talk about taking pride in your business, this guy takes quality personally! I've found that at many other car places, I've gotten the "little lady" treatment, called "sweetheart" etc and been treated differently for being a female. Not here, Harry and his staff are nothing but respectful and helpful. I was in, out, and in a rental car in less than 20 minutes. The crew over at Enterprise knows this shop well, and you get the Harry-treatment as a result. I realized when I got to work that I had left my keys at the shop. I called and Harry offered to put them in my mailbox, completely out of the way for him. It didn't end up being necessary, but the offer alone was ridiculously above and beyond the call of duty. While my car way being fixed, I received updates via email and voicemail. GGC also lets you communicate via text, which is awesome during the work day when phone tag is inevitable. When I picked up my car, Harry showed me the work and explained exactly what was done. A very nice young woman that was working with Harry in the office took my rental car keys and told me they would take care of the return (I received a courtesy call from Enterprise within 20 minutes letting me know it was returned and everything was good.) I had not yet received the check from the car insurance company of the guy who hit me, so Harry did not make me cough up the money out of my own pocket and told me I could send the check whenever it arrived. Our driver side mirror was accidentally knocked off and our driver side door was knicked and scratched by a truck at a construction site. This was a huge problem for us given that we have one family car (a leased Ford Focus 2016) that we share for commuting to work. Harry is one of the most customer-service-oriented people I know. I needed a front bumper area repaired and painted. His price was several hundred dollars less than surrounding body shops. Harry also observed that earlier work I had done was not done well (paint drips, modified parts, etc), and he fixed the other body shop's mistakes. If I could give these guys forty stars I would. I had my extremely rare Volkswagen Corrado (which should have been totaled, based on insurance; I was barely able to negotiate) repaired there back in early 2016. The fact I am bothering to post this after so long should tell you something; the other day I was looking at how gorgeous the passenger side still looks; not even any orange peel on the paint, it's like the car is brand new on that side. So I had to finally post this. Not only do these guys do excellent work, they understand an emotional attachment to a car, especially a museum piece like mine (look up Corrado, you will get it). The job must have been in their shop for a month, and yet they persevered with it and it turned out perfect. A month later someone screwed up my front bumper and I took it in there and they fixed it like new for a really great price. I will never forget the service I got from them, not only on the management side of things but *especially* on the technical side as well. They would take me back to the shop and show me the car and what they were doing to to it (galvanizing and what not). Also they had a guy who had worked in the insurance industry before and understood the bidding process and its ambiguities on totaled cars etc. Please, take your almost-wrecked car here, they will take care of you. I always check yelp before spending my money. Several years back D&M did some work on my car. I never forgot them...but I wanted to check yelp and see what folks had so say. So it was a no-brainer to have them repaint my old 1993 Toyota pick up truck. What a super job they did! Extras at no cost included fixing my antenna, fixing my window opener (this is a manual one - no power in this truck!) and a few other odds and ends. The truck looks like new. I had my window broken and my insurance company used their default auto-glass shop to repair the window. The default place used after market window glass that was very squeaky going up and down. They couldn't fix the loud squeak and when the insurance adjuster came out to hear the squeak, of course, the window didn't make the sound. Harry at Golden Gate collision figured out the window/rubber needed to be cold so I left him my car over night. He came in early the next morning and rolled the window up/down when it was cold and recorded the sound for the insurance company. He measured the thickness of the glass and found it was millimeters thinner than the original BMW glass. So insisted to the insurance company that in order to restore my car to it's condition prior to glass breaking, OEM glass was necessary. My car is now back to it's perfectly silent window rolling. This is the second time they have done great work at Golden Gate collision and convinced my insurance company to pay for top notch work with actual BMW parts. Thank you!! read more

I had an amazing experience doing business with Harry and his team. I asked for an estimate to paint the bumper of my aging Forester. Harry said it would be less expensive for me (insurance was not covering this) if they ordered a reconditioned bumper that they would paint and install. About a week later he called to say the bumper had come in. Then he called a day later after it was painted and ready to be installed. After 12 years, my Bimmer convertible showed its battle scars -- dings around the car, scraped rocker panel, keying, worn driver's seat, frayed wires in trunk, etc. But mechanically, the car was still sound, with less than 100K miles on the odometer; it felt like it could go another 100K. He found the guy to stitch the seat, found a guy to fix the trunk wiring for $200 instead of the $1000 the BMW place wanted to charge me. And I loved it that he had this cute little Abarth Speedster in the shop, stripped to the bare metal -- he knew his cars. During the work, he emailed and called as necessary, as I was traveling when the repairs were taking place, making sure I was in the loop. On July 29 2013 I brought my MiniCopper to D&M. The electrical mechanism controlling the latch to the hatch was not working. (I had prior excellent experience with D&M in connection with a fender repair, D&M is a AAA pre-approved auto body repair service.)
