Self serve, sodas and fruit and light alcohol
    Gerald L.

Golden Gate Lounge is a bit of a mixed bag, but it gets the job done. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It feels a little worn and not the most polished lounge, but it is still a decent place to spend some time before a flight.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They had a range of food, including meatballs, vegetables, breads, sweets, and some cold cuts. Nothing standout, but enough to put together a light meal. Meatballs were good. Drinks are easy to access with full cans of soda and self serve beer and wine, plus snacks like nuts. It is simple and convenient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space itself was a bit warm, and they had a portable air conditioner running that was loud enough to notice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating was fine, nothing special but comfortable enough.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] With Priority Pass, I checked in around 6:30 and was told I could stay until 7:30. It felt a little rushed, possibly due to crowding or upcoming flights. [[HIGHLIGHT]]No outlets for charging. And it's the kind of place that uses paper plates.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not a lounge you go out of your way for, but a reasonable option if you have access and some time to spare.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a small lounge but thankfully was not busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was just OK. Some of it was room temp. They have a few drinks available as well but too small to call it a bar. Very friendly staff.

Located in the international terminal A. Hubby & I attempted to use our Priority Pass Sunday. We were waiting in the hallway for them to open at 7am. At 6:40am someone from the lounge came out to inform us they're not taking PP card holders until probably 10:30am as they needed to accommodate Air India lounge members whose lounge is being built next door. To his credit he did tell us to go to Club SFO which is nearby. Go back & take the down escalator and make a left hand turn. By Gate B4.

Located just outside of the International security gates on the 4th floor. This is one of the better options, considering that the Virgin Atlantic lounge has cutback on their food choices. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place lounge has a spacious seating area, with great views of the airport runway.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Hot foods bar: pasta, delicious meatballs, sautéed tomatoes, cut cuts, hot soup, tater tots. Self serve mixed drinks bar, canned sodas, self serve fruit cooler. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This lounge has two unisex restrooms and free WiFi![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This was my first time having access to an airport lounge, as my back pain required a lay flat seat for a long International flight so I upgraded to business class. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The lounge mainly seemed like a small self serve cafeteria to grab a quick bite, coffee, tea, or alcoholic beverage.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I wasn't hungry so just had a cold soda and left. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The tables were crowded together so didn't look particularly relaxing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I opted to relax in a more a spacious area of the international departures where I could lie down and rest my back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We had a great experience at the Golden Gate Lounge. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is a bit small but there's fresh and delicious food and plenty of drink options.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The beef meatballs hit the spot and warmed my soul up. There's pasta on the side that's already seasoned for vegetarian options. The sandwiches were ok and they had a good meat and cheese selection. There's plenty of snacks and alcohol options as well if you are looking for something lighter. I appreciated the environmentally friendly plates and utensils. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everyone was quiet, respectful and mostly bused their own tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff are very kind and refill food very often. We enjoyed this lounge and would come again!

Food was a 3 and acceptably good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambience with the view was a 4, but the lounge felt like it's not invested in for improvements. It's a bit tired and worn.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The espresso maker was broken, the urinal in one of the bathrooms was taped over and out of service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The floors were sticky, the staff seemed uninterested in being there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The styles of chairs were all the same so there were no comfort options for hanging out longer.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was fine, but far from premium.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Decent lounge to grab a small bite and relax at for a bit, don't come with any high expectations. The lounge is quite small, so I'm sure it can be quite hectic during busy hours. I was at SFO for a 11 AM flight on a Monday and it was pretty empty. The staff were friendly and the food was decent, they served basic breakfast items, I got the ham and cheese sandwich, scrambled eggs, sausage, veggies, and salad. They also served fresh fruit and Greek Yogurt with fruit in the fridge.

It's OK. We arrived at SFO today and are able to finally use the Priority Pass entry into the Golden Gate Lounge. While they allowed us into the lounge (which was only about 25-30% full), as PP holders, we are asked to leave at 6pm "to allow for business class members". I don't really get it - when we left, the place was still barely half full - why can't they serve PP members past 6pm is beyond my understanding. Of note, the staff were very nice about it - it's just the policy that baffles me... Anyway - nice lounge with decent food. Staff are friendly and seating is decently comfortable. An overall good experience.

Lots of seating. Seats are comfortable. They had little sandwiches and various pastas. The meatballs were so delicious. I kept going back for more. I liked their fruit cups as well! Friendly staff. :)

I'm not sure why all the sub par reviews for this place, but I absolutely loved my time in here. What's not to love? Free Drinks + free food (including desserts) + a self serve alcohol cart that includes hard liquor?? I've been in airport lounges before but not ones where you can pour your own drinks. For this alone, this place deserves 5 stars. Let's talk about the food spread first: Minestrone Soup, Dahl soup, Pasta with Meatballs, roasted veggies, chopped baguette bread, whole croissants, sandwiches (both vegetarian option and turkey on focaccia bread with pesto sauce), tomato salad, greens salad, and a cold cut platter with assorted cheese. I didn't get to try all of this but I did have the meatballs + marinara sauce (no pasta). It was surprisingly good and I don't normally gravitate toward Italian food. The Meatball was huge and tasty, not overly salted. The Turkey Focaccia sandwich with pesto was right up my alley- nicely portioned because it was bigger than bite sized yet small enough where you could eat it all and not get stuffed. Dessert/ Fruit station: Green and Red Apples, Oranges, Quarter sliced Blueberry + Poppyseed muffins, small Chocolate Chip cookies, Cheesecake Brownie bars.... These were all set up on top of a table. Right underneath this table was a glass door fridget that housed the Yogurt cups with sliced berries on top, Fresh Fruit cups, Sprite, Diet Coke, and Coke cans. Also on top of the table were canisters full of Yogurt toppings (Granola + Raisins). Next to the Yogurt toppings were Chex Mix and Nuts. I shared a piece of the Brownie Bar and it was decent. Alcohol Station: White wine, Red wine, Sparking wine + Bottles of Hard Liquor. I was only able to make out the Tito's Vodka because while I don't drink, one of us in our party made a beeline for that that since it's her drink of choice. They also had a mini bucket of ice + tongs + cups set out for you to serve yourself. With all of this, there were bussers coming around to clear your tables as you finished off your plates. The lounge was clean and our private bathrooms passed my standards. Pair that with some strong wifi and I couldn't complain.

This is a "temporary location" and supposedly a new and fancy lounge will be christened in 2027. This current iteration of the lounge is open: 5am-11pm. I was granted access without difficulty about three hours before my flight. Typical breakfast options were being served including assorted fruit, oatmeal, grits, & lots of breakfast pastries. The hot food consisted of egg white frittatas, biscuits & gravy, chicken apple sausage, mini pancakes, bacon & vegan sausage. Items were being replenished quickly and there were a number of employees clearing plates & assisting patrons. At 11am, the staff announced last call for breakfast, & they indicated that they would be setting up for lunch. The bar is fully stocked & the coffee machines are humming. I had a 2% latte that was pleasant. On the other side of the lounge is a fully stocked tea & drip coffee station. There is also a water / water bottle refill station that is not exactly intuitive. You have to hold down the little button at the base of the faucet. Anyhoo... The space itself is nothing special or spectacular, and it was quite busy the whole time I sat here. It was more pleasant than sitting at the gate though, that is for sure! The bathrooms are adequate. L'Occitane Verveine soap is stocked, but there is no lotion. (When I went back into the bathroom before I left the lounge, the lotion had been restocked.) Shower facilities are available upon request. Overall, this is an adequate lounge that does the job, but it is not a showstopper or particularly memorable - nor does it really scream "Centurion", premium, luxury, or anything similar to that. Peace.

We decided to check out the China Airlines lounge. All the other lounges on PP were not accepting PP guests, so this was actually our only option in the International terminal. (The other two are Golden Gate and Virgin Atlantic.) This lounge is small. They have a very modest array of food. Three chafing dishes of I think fried rice, chow mein, etc. A small area with half sandos, mini cookies, muffins. There was no seating, so I was actually going to turn around and leave. But I saw they offered chivas 12, so I poured myself a glass and sipped on it standing somewhere out of the way before leaving. (I shared it with the hubs of course.) We were probably here for like 15 mins. Was gonna rate the lounge 1 star, but upped it to 2 cuz of the chivas. REVIEW #4083

Walking off a plane at that hour, you are not looking for much, just somewhere quiet to land. The Alaska Lounge was right across from our gate. First time in, and the staff made it feel like they were glad we showed up. Friendly, genuine, no airport-zombie energy. The space is impressive. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the tarmac and the hillside, plenty of natural light, and seating for every mood: work tables, soft chairs, window loungers, even a private booth if you need to take a call. I planted myself at a window seat and didn't move. The bar is well-stocked. What stood out was having an actual barista on-site. Oat milk latte and a bowl of steel cut oatmeal, exactly what I needed at that hour. One honest note: the food selection was thin and several items needed restocking when we came through. The staff were apologetic and moved quickly, which matters. But the variety just wasn't there. Solid lounge. Good people. Great space. The food program has room to grow into what the rest of the experience already delivers.

Located in Terminal 2 near the entrance to the walkway to Terminal 3, you take the elevator up to level 4 and walk down the hall toward the entrance. Entrance is based on whether you're flying business class on Air Canada flights, Star Alliance carriers or if you have the Chase Aeroplan card or Chase Sapphire Reserve flying Air Canada or a Star Alliance carriers in any class. Positives of the Maple Leaf Lounge at SFO are as follows: 1 - Views galore. Because it's located on level 4 you have unobstructed views of the runway and San Francisco Bay. They also have an outside patio that's pretty usable most of the year. 2 - the vibes of the lounge are light and breezy with large windows letting in a lot of natural light. 3 - Seating is both a positive and negative. With a focus on the ramp, there are a lot of counter and table seating facing outward. However, that leads to a lack of variety and tends to make the lounge feel crowded during high traffic times. The negatives of the lounge are as follows: 1 - Food options. During this current visit the soda machine ran out of ice, but no one proactively went about to fix it and the soda dispenser felt like it needed to be refilled. 2 - the food when available was tasty, but during this visit they ran out of food at the buffet three times, meaning either the kitchen can't keep up with the volume or there is no one actively monitoring the buffet. 3 - Showers are available, but felt a little exposed because of the layout of the space. Perhaps a little barrier of some sort blocking that hallway can alleviate that situation. Overall, I think the Maple Leaf Lounge at SFO has a lot to offer, but also needs to tighten up its service to meet the standards set by its Star Alliance partners. It's less crowded than its neighboring Club at SFO or the temporary Centurion Lounge, but not on the level of the Polaris or soon a revamped United Club.
