Had dinner with my family prior to our late evening flight and opted to relax here instead of waiting at the crowded gate. Since I had a larger party with me (6 total), we found tables that were reserved for parties of 3 or more. This was super convenient! The staff also offered us the seating area at the entrance, which was a nice gesture. I love that they label which foods are gluten friendly and if they contain dairy. Food- Beef and barley soup- Soup was good and filled with chunky vegetables and meat Tomato bisque- did not try this Beet shots or strawberry smoothies Tikka masala tofu- As a tofu fan, I enjoyed this Noodles with veggies and shrimp- this had a little spice to it so my kid didn't enjoy it. I thought it was fine Chicken dish- this was good and well seasoned Love their premade salads and ability to make your own and add the ingredients you like. Their pineapple agua fresca is so good and their bar is fantastic! Their array of desserts and snacks are perfect for that sweet tooth craving. Staff were all very nice, cleared dishes quickly, and kept the area very clean. Restrooms were clean and their L'occitane products are a nice touch.

The Centurion Lounge always makes us feel taken care of. Every time we visit, we're able to enjoy one of the private rooms, which gives us a quiet and comfortable space away from the busy terminal. The privacy, service, and overall atmosphere really make the experience feel exclusive and relaxing. Great food, great drinks, and consistently excellent hospitality every visit.

At American Express Centurion Lounge, this is a lounge that looks premium on the surface but fails where it matters most. It delivers food and amenities that are, at best, on par with standard airline lounges, and more importantly, it breaks down in execution at critical moments -- including a complete failure to coordinate wheelchair assistance. For a Centurion Lounge, that is not a minor issue. It defines the experience. The space itself looks polished at first glance. Natural light, clean layout, a mix of seating that works for dining or waiting. But once you sit down and start moving through the lounge, it becomes clear this is operating much closer to a well-run buffet than a premium environment. The food follows that exact pattern. The cold items are clean and straightforward -- nothing wrong, nothing memorable. The hot food is better than expected in one respect: it's actually hot. From there, it becomes uneven. The asparagus is well executed with a proper bite. The red curry tofu is one of the few dishes with real flavor and even a bit of heat. The salmon is tender but slightly fishy. The chicken and meatballs are acceptable but forgettable. The tomato bisque is thicker than average, but still reads as basic and one-dimensional. Nothing is bad. But very little rises above that. The desserts lean even more toward broad appeal. The lemon tart is overly sweet with muted acidity. The fruit tart looks fresh but is dominated by cream. The cheesecake has the right texture but lacks a strong cheese profile, with a raspberry topping that tastes more artificial than real. The chocolate ganache is the most enjoyable of the group, mostly because of the dark chocolate shell, but even that falls into "better, not good." The pattern is consistent: everything is designed to be easy, safe, and widely acceptable -- not precise, not distinctive, and not something you'd go out of your way for. Even basic elements show the same limitation. Coffee is fully automated, but there's no cream or half-and-half available, so you're locked into preset ratios. Tea requires using the same machine for hot water, with no easy way to control temperature because there's no cold water available nearby. It works, but it's rigid and incomplete. The bar is one of the few places where the lounge shows actual structure. The chamomile spritz is balanced, with a light floral note, a subtle bitterness, and a clean finish that avoids the sweetness seen elsewhere. As the ice melts, more of the drink opens up -- the alcohol becomes more defined and the bitterness sharpens. But it's served heavily iced and very cold, which mutes those qualities upfront. Even here, the execution feels slightly held back. Operationally, the lounge functions. Food is refilled, and the space is maintained. But service is not attentive. Tables are not cleared while you're actively using them -- plates remained on the table until I left entirely, at which point they were removed. It's a system that reacts to vacancy, not one that supports the guest in real time. The most significant issue, however, is how accessibility is handled. At check-in, when requesting wheelchair assistance, the immediate response was to emphasize that the service is handled by a third party and outside their control. That framing becomes more concerning when the service itself fails to execute. I waited at the lounge. No one arrived. There was no notification that assistance had shown up. Eventually, I had to make my way to the gate on my own. By the time I got there, wheelchair staff were present at the gate instead, indicating the request had not been coordinated to the correct location at all. This is not a minor delay. It is a breakdown in coordination, communication, and execution at a point where the experience should be handled with the most care. At one point, I overheard another guest mention that the food had been upgraded for this temporary location. If that's true, it only reinforces the issue -- because even in its current form, this does not meet the standard expected of a Centurion Lounge. And that's really the core problem. Compared to top-tier lounges like Cathay Pacific Lounge, this falls well short. Compared to standard lounges like United Club or Delta Sky Club, it's roughly on the same level. That's the issue. It shouldn't be. This is a premium-branded lounge that delivers a slightly above-average experience at best, with a critical failure in service where it matters most. No amount of branding -- or temporary location -- changes that.

This Amex Centurion Lounge was a Temp location so its basic in its decoration and design but it was very comfortable and the food service was nice too. Food was plentiful and constantly restocked. They had a full bar with staff for all your beverage needs as well as a couple automatic espresso machines. the thing that impressed me most was the attentive of the staff, helpful with any question and quick to clear tables for rapid turn over. i had a 3 hour wait for the final journey home from Germany so i got to watch and as i said i was impressed. Great Job SFO Terminal 2 Centurion Lounge.

The Centurian lounge in SFO is now in a temporary location in Terminal 2 right after you exit security. As someone who's flying out of Terminal 1 more it's super convenient to walk from the temporary location to the B or C gates. The space and buffet areas are a bit smaller than the original location in Terminal 3 but the food is solid (lunch/dinner is always better than breakfast) and luckily there usually isn't a wait (unlike the Club lounge in Terminal 1). The staff here is always great which is a nice plus.

Much better experience this time! Lovely lounge with good food and drinks! I had a caesar salad and added feta cheese and shrimp !! It was delish!! Then I had a sky high cocktail which I very much enjoyed. Service was fantastic !! A very nice lounge!! I will definite use it again when at SFO!!

This is a review of the temporary location in T2. Good location right past security, and a typically sized lounge. Not as well appointed as the original Centurion Lounge, but this one is more open. I like it. The old one was harder to navigate with the narrow hallways. Hot food options were served on a mobile display in the middle of the floor instead of placed against a wall. This evening's hot food options included grilled shrimp, meatballs, broccolini, tikka masala, and garlic chicken. It was a small but mighty selection. It was about 90% full on Saturday at 5 pm.

I went to the temporary lounge at SFO on a Friday evening in terminal 2 and was pleasantly surprised. I didn't have to wait at all. Although the space wasn't too large, I found an empty seat/table to settle into for a 1.5 hour layover. The buffet was decent with a larger than expected choice of entrees (bbq chicken, meatballs with marinara sauce, shrimp scampi and tofu) , delicious broccolini. There was also a nice selection of deserts. I appreciated that even though it was after 915 PM, they continued to restock the buffet. The staff was pleasant enough, and they were efficient at cleaning up used glasses and plates. My faith in AMEX Centurion lounges is restored for now.

Always nice ending a vacation with a chill airport experience and the Centurion Lounge provides that! Albeit after a hearty walk due to airport remodeling - but hey we got our steps in before several hours in the sky Love this lounge - they have a wine wall that allows you to experience several pours via a QR code - a little early for that, I enjoyed a mimosa and some avocado toast!! The folks here are lovely - especially the lady behind the bar! Did not catch her name but she was great! Lovely clean, calm atmosphere and we can leave our trip relaxed and ready to fly!!

Stopped by this Centurion Lounge before my evening flight to Canada. While I've been to the original location, this review is for their temporary spot in Terminal 2. My biggest gripe with this location is the limited seating. The original lounge offered far more space and a variety of seating options, including proper table setups perfect for eating and working on a laptop. I usually work on my iPad while waiting for flights, but here, the only seat I could snag was a small chair with a tiny table that barely fit my plate. Definitely not ideal for working or eating comfortably. On the plus side, the dinner service was outstanding--easily a 10/10. Honestly, it's probably the best lounge food I've had, second only to Haneda Airport's lounge (which had onigiri and katsu sandos with beer on tap--hard to beat that!). I especially appreciated the variety and inclusivity of plant-based options. Both the hot bar and salad bar were well-stocked, and the dessert section was equally impressive. That said, the lounge did get cramped and crowded, to the point they had to implement a waitlist. Hopefully, next time I'm flying out of SFO, they'll be back in their original location, which offered a far more comfortable experience.

This lounge is by far our favorite among the American Express airport lounges we have been to. This is also the biggest one, it's very spacious and open with a lot of seatings. The food selections were great especially desserts! The bartenders at the bar were very friendly! Great lounge to relax and enjoy some food and drinks before boarding!

Ask the Community - The Centurion Lounge

What time is the lounge open for breakfast?

    6AM

    Are they reopen yet?

    Yes

Can you gain access to this lounge if you are a Platinum card holder, but departing from Terminal 2?

Yes, but you have to clear Security twice. And don't forget the lounge can deny you access due to capacity control.

Can you get in with a standby boarding pass or need to be a confirmed seat?

They will definitely not let you in with a standby ticket.

Do they kick people out after 11pm?

https://thecenturionlounge.com/info/faq you can find the answer there. They have the hours for every Centurion lounge posted there

If you have a green buisness AMEX card can you still get in? I assume we would have to pay.

I believe the option to pay with a non-Platinum/Centurion Amex was removed in Oct 2017 (http://travelskills.com/2017/10/02/american-express-changes-centurion-lounge-access-policy/)

The line was okayish (see photo). Took about 10-15m to get to check in desk. The lady at the desk was friendly. She asked me to scan my Priority Pass twice and boarding pass twice (standard, two different scanners). She asked: you just arrived? I said: yes. Then I was motioned to go in. Took the elevator up one floor to access the tables, rooms, showers, bathrooms, food, and bar. Today the hot bar served scrambled eggs with artichokes and spinach, sausage links, diced fruit, chia pudding, and cereal. The other food bar had a pot of oatmeal (with topping options), pot of mushroom congee (kimchi & green onions toppings), bread options (bagels, muffins, sliced bread) with spread options (cream cheeses, pesto, butter, etc). Beverage bar included coffee machine, teas, orange juice, and soda dispensers. The first plate of food was pretty good. I was hungry so happy to have hot food. The sausage was moist and flavorful. My second plate I got a bowl of congee which was unflavorful, but with the kimchi it was fine. I also popped in some sausage. I chose the sliced bread with different spreads. I don't drink regular milk so I had to forgo my latte. I made an espresso and added oat milk, but it was pretty terrible. But if you need caffeine it's something. I didn't have a hard time finding a seat. Other guests were kind and accomodating to each other. Bathroom was busy, and I had to wait a couple minutes. It was decently clean. I did like that everything was self serve, so you can grab as much food as you want and relax before boarding. One thing I would recommend is arriving at the airport at least three hours early if you plan on visiting the lounge. I only had two hours before my flight, and I ended hp being on the app waitlist for an hour before getting in. The lounge can get busy, so plan ahead to give yourself enough time to enjoy it without feeling rushed.

When I walked up to the buffet-style breakfast, there were no plates--only bowls. That made it a lot harder to grab what I actually wanted. The eggs were good, but there was no cream cheese for the bagels. After toasting one and realizing there wasn't any cream cheese, I had to eat it dry. I'd suggest adding that to the spread--no pun intended. I tried the strawberry-infused water, and it wasn't very good, but the orange juice was pretty good. They also had a robot moving around, though I'm not sure what its purpose was. There were people collecting trash and plates, which helped keep everything clean. One caveat though that Jamie W and I discovered was that if your flight leaves from International Area A, you're given access to this business class lounge instead. That's because it's a rather excessive 25-minute walk away from the United Polaris Lounge in International Area G. When we asked the check-in agent whether this lounge was comparable to Polaris, he gave it an 8 out of 10. He was being much too generous. It turned out to be a claustrophobic two-room space where ironically, the first-class room was more cramped than the general area. There were barely any outlets, and it was so tight that the rotating chairs kept banging into each other. There were three warmers of hot Chinese food, but none of it was that tempting. We managed to snack on stale cookies and diet soft drinks. There was a full staff operating here, but the experience didn't really warrant that level of attention. I think the next time, we'll just build in the extra time to get back and forth from Polaris if we really want the more ideal lounge experience. RELATED - Waiting at the airport? Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the tarmac and the hillside, plenty of natural light, and seating for every mood: work tables, soft chairs, window loungers, even a private booth if you need to take a call. I planted myself at a window seat and didn't move. The bar is well-stocked. What stood out was having an actual barista on-site. Oat milk latte and a bowl of steel cut oatmeal, exactly what I needed at that hour. One honest note: the food selection was thin and several items needed restocking when we came through. The staff were apologetic and moved quickly, which matters. But the variety just wasn't there. Solid lounge. Good people. Great space. The food program has room to grow into what the rest of the experience already delivers.

Also the bathrooms on this side of the lounge were definitely cleaner and no lines. The buffet was so so but we were able to get seated in the dining room after just a five minute wait. Last time was over an hour so this visit was leisurely. Lunch options were small plates and satisfying. Beef kofta was a little dry but tomato harissa sauce helped a lot. Shrimp orzo with saffron was tasty with three large prawns. The wild mushroom bourguignon bouchée was my favorite with the meaty sautéed mushrooms layered on top of a puff pastry and covered with the boursin sauce. I would order it again. Polaris signature burger was a consistent go to for at least one of us. Juicy beef, crispy bacon and grilled onions on a brioche bun was filling. Lastly dessert choice was the matcha panna cotta and it disappointed as the matcha was just a tiny layer at the bottom of the glass so no discernible flavor. At least the grapefruit topper was juicy along with the sesame crumble were both the highlight. Great service from Elsa through our meal! Hopefully it doesn't get more crowded after all the fare changes United made to get more paying customers for Polaris.

Seating was comfortable with plenty of space to spread out, charge devices, and enjoy some quiet time away from the busy terminal. The food selection was surprisingly solid for an airport lounge. Fresh pastries, light hot items, snacks, and a good variety of drinks including wine, coffee, and soft beverages. Everything was well stocked during my visit and the staff kept the area tidy. Service was friendly and welcoming from the moment I checked in. Staff were attentive without being intrusive and helped keep the space calm and organized. Overall, a smooth and comfortable pre-flight experience. Definitely one of the nicer lounges at SFO and a great way to start the trip.

Tender had gone to the head and I was told by a random male employee to come back in five minutes. I came back in five. Tender still gone. Wife went to the bar and was told that soft drinks are in main food serving area. -1 star. I saw a female employee bend over to pick up a scrap of litter that a lesser employee would have ignored. A beautiful act of professionalism. +1 star. The place can get busy and an occasional traveling swine will leave a belonging on a chair or table to "Reserve" it - rendering it unusable for possibly hours. Suggestion to Lounge: Get a manager or Security to clean these squatter bombs up and free up space.
