Some old-school corned beef hash, so good
    Greg F.

A Huntington classic! It's not really a diner, but it functions that way and the excellent, excellent food is like diner cuisine done right. I've been eating at Munday's for over two decades and it's never disappointed me. I hadn't been in awhile and going for brunch with my daughter recently reminded me how much I love Munday's, their food and their whole vibe. Some old-school corned beef hash was awesome. Omelets and salmon bagels rule.

Corned beef hash special and special omelette

As much as I wanted to love this place, the food was neither appealing nor appetizing. Whether it was the corned beef hash, special omelette, or roast beef sandwich, nothing stood out to make my family want to return. My mom was used to the meat being medium rare and tender, not overcooked and tough for her to chew with dentures. My dad couldn't taste anything special about the omelette. The corned beef hash felt like it was heated out of a can along with some sides of lackluster potatoes. To top it off, my scrambled eggs seemed like a flat omelette to bury my food in its misery. The one thing that could've saved this place was our order of onion rings, which was never added at our request as the first thing that we ordered. All I remember is ~$8 per small glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, which was sweet and refreshing. This place looked festive with decorations from Easter. The staff is friendly for seating you quickly in booth seats or the high stools at the bar. Parking is ample in nearby lots within a few blocks of walking. There are steps to walk up, so it may not be handicap accessible unless there is a ramp in the back.

Been coming here with my family for decades, it's always been one of my Huntington favorites. The food is always excellent and strangely doesn't break the bank. On this trip I got some French toast and a side order of waffle fries. The service is always super friendly and attentive despite it always being packed. There is usually a wait for a table but it's worth it. I love how they decorate for each upcoming holiday, for example this weekend they had decorations for St. Patrick's Day up. Always a must stop when I'm in Huntington!

4**** for a classic, bustling, "been here forever" small town diner with both counter & booth service. Full menu, everything coming out looked good. 3 guys on the grill busy, busy. Coffee continuously refilled. Truly warm & friendly service. We had not been here in at least 18+ years, glad that we took a chance and despite the amount of folks waiting, counter seats were soon available. I had a patty melt, a favorite that I seldom order. This is a 1/2 lb. patty, cooked to order with a nice amount of chopped onions & melted swiss. I was good for half, so consider sharing. Cole slaw was perfect. Very pleasant decor. We enjoyed our time here & will return again soon.

    Classic Reuben sandwich platter

I went on a Saturday around 1:30PM, and we (party of 2) were seated within 2 minutes of arriving. When left around 2:15PM, and the front area looked busier than when we arrived. We ordered the Classic Reuben sandwich platter, which came with fries. The corned beef portion inside the sandwich was HUGE; I could have taken out half and easily made another sandwich with it. Given the size, I only ate half the sandwich, and took the other half to-go. We also got a caesar salad; the salads are very well-priced for the portion sizes - they come in Small, Side, and Large. We got the "Side" size, which was only $6.95, but the chicken add-on ($7.75) cost more than the salad itself. We should have read the menu more carefully before ordering, and we don't regret getting the chicken add-on since it was cooked well, but just something to note when ordering the salads. Once you're done eating and ask for the check, you pay up front, which is nice because you don't have to wait for your card to be charged before getting up from your table.

What a charming little spot! And it's 100 years old. It's also 100 years old. This is a fantastic place to get some delicious breakfast. Grab a stack of pancakes and a cup of coffee - you'll love it. They also serve lunch breakfast and dinner. I visited during the Halloween season, and it was decked out in cute spooky decorations. Despite the fact that it was busy, service was attentive and friendly. If you arrive late, you may have to wait. 4 stars because it's just a fun and happy place with great breakfast.

My boyfriend and I were trying to find a restaurant in the village and both agreed on Munday's ! I've been here a couple of times and it never disappoints. A diner that has cute decor for the holidays, right up my alley. Today, I got a grilled cheese with fries that came with coleslaw and a pickle chip and it was yummy and hit the spot. The staff is so friendly and on top of everything and they have many menu options for whatever you're craving!

Came here for brunch, cute diner and friendly staff! We got seated right away, thankfully but we've came here before and have seen the line. They don't take reservations so it's first come first serve. Eggs Benedict was good, bacon was cooked well and my husband had an omelette. Liked that I was able to have fries as my side! Saw that they have a Monday mimosa special which is order 1 and get the other for free!

Very cute inside and the servers were nice. The food was good, above average diner food. The menu is quite small, do not expect a normal size diner menu. I would definitely go back during another holiday season to see the decorations!

Munday's is a terrific classic little diner. It's always busy but I've never waited too long to be seated. Parking can also be tough if it's a busy time, as with any of the shops and restaurants in that area. The staff is super friendly and attentive, always quick to refill coffee and get whatever you need. The food is great - I tend to order breakfast items, which they serve all day, so I can't say how the lunch or dinner food is. I love how the decorate the entire restaurant depending on the holiday/season.

There were toddlers and preschoolers in the restaurant with their families, so I asked the waitress to please change the channel. She looked at me like I was crazy and told me that she didn't understand what my problem was. I explained that there were graphic photos of people and crime scenes that aren't suitable for children, or really anyone else trying to enjoy their meal. That issue non-withstanding, I still don't think Over Easy is worth choosing over Hatch or Munday's. The wait for us was 20 minutes, which is the same for pretty much every other place in Huntington. It's also very small, so as a result the tables are extremely close together. We were seated in the middle of the floor, with waitstaff passing through very frequently on both sides. We had to constantly tuck ourselves in and watch our backs to avoid getting an elbow in the face. Our food tasted alright, but there were several issues. We both got variations of eggs benedict. I got the avocado BLT benedict, with avocado, tomato, arugula, bacon, and hollandaise on top of ciabatta. It tastes good, and I especially liked how orange and healthy the poached egg yolk was. However the ciabatta was pretty badly burnt. My boyfriend got the "classic" eggs benedict, which was served over toasted sourdough bread. This bread was ridiculous, over an inch thick and impossible to cut through without shaking the table and making a crummy mess. I would've thought the classic eggs benedict would be eggs with Canadian bacon over an English muffin; this one was just not the best.

The hostess asked if we were celebrating anything, and when we told her it was our anniversary, she surprised us with a handwritten card waiting at our table that read, "Happy Anniversary! We timed our reservation perfectly for sunset, and between the sailboats, glowing sky, and beautifully lit trees, it felt like something out of a movie. The outdoor patio is one of the most beautiful dining settings I've experienced on Long Island. We started with the crab cake, which was packed with fresh lump crab and lightly seasoned so the quality of the seafood really shined. The crispy exterior paired perfectly with the creamy remoulade. Every bite was delicious. The service was attentive, friendly, and never rushed. Our server made sure everything was perfect throughout the evening, and every staff member we encountered helped make our celebration feel special. As a true connoisseur, you know that the distance traveled is often a small price to pay for culinary perfection. Making the trek from Brooklyn was a pilgrimage that paid off in every bite. Dining at this establishment is less of a meal and more of a choreographed performance where every ingredient plays its part to perfection. Several dishes merit special mention. The evening began with a Watermelon Salad that redefined refreshment. Each vibrant cube of melon arrived with a crisp, crystalline texture, cleverly balanced by salty flourishes and herbal notes that felt like a cool breeze on a humid evening. It was followed by the Sweet Chilli Shrimp, a dish that struck a delicate chord between fire and honey. The shrimp were plump and oceanic, draped in a glaze that hummed with a sophisticated, creeping heat. Then came the crescendo: the steaks. The Wagyu was an absolute masterclass in decadence, possessing a buttery marble that seemed to dissolve upon contact, leaving behind a rich, lingering umami. In contrast, the Ribeye offered a more rugged, soul-satisfying experience--perfectly charred, deeply flavorful, and dripping with an earthy intensity that only the finest cuts can achieve. To close, the Floating Island and Tiramisu were a dream rendered in sugar and air. Beyond the words, just weightless finale to an otherwise powerful gastronomic journey.
