Run, don't walk from this mismanaged nightmare. We ordered take out and were told everything would be ready in 30 minutes. I arrived 40 minutes later only to sit for over an hour begging and pleading with the hostess to check on our food. When I got home our spare ribs were cold, we didn't receive our fried rice and the house special triple delight didn't contain any beef and was a double disappointment. Other patrons informed me during my hour and ten minute standoff that the restaurant was under new "management". That would explain why the hostess left a customer's credit card on the front counter in plain view of other customers as he disappeared into the back for an extended periods. We have been going here for twenty years, through multiple different owners. Some did a better job than others. The current owners do a good job. We normally get steamed chicken with vegetables, steamed shrimp with vegetables, garlic chicken with vegetables, won ton soup, various types of lo mein and fried rice. Everything is always fresh, the service is fast, and we always get what we order. It is not fancy, but it is a good neighborhood Chinese restaurant. read more

Must have changed ownership, food is still okay but service is horrible. Pick up used to take 20 minutes now you order and show up in twenty minutes only to Waite another 15 when few people are in the restaurant. Guy at the counter did not even acknowledge customers being present , more interested in his phone. Time to find another Chinese Restaurant... read more

I was up in Montgomery County and takeout was the order of the evening for dinner. The nearby Golden Great Wall was called and about 15 minutes later our meals were at the door. Yes the service was that quick ... and nothing was missing, all condiments present. Now the mediocre news - the food. It was decent enough but def in need of more spice and less cornstarch or whatever makes Chinese food so shiny. I ordered the Hunan Double Delight which was listed as spicy and should be very spicy as it is a Hunan dish. It was not at all. On the positive side ingredients tasted fresh. And I loved their disposable chop sticks - very maneuverable compared to the usual chop sticks accompanying takeout orders. There was a mix-up on our part on the dishes which could have been avoided if they would have labeled each dish ... that's a suggestion. Anyway, the takeout service was tremendous from the phone call to delivery(5 rating) ... food totally decent without reaching any heights (3 rating). Overall rating - 4! read more

Just stopped by today for dinner. Saw the reviews first where everyone mentioned about the friendly staff and service and I agree with all of them now. Staff was so nice and friendly. I don't understand the negative reviews. This is our go-to spot for Chinese in Upper Dublin! The food is always delivered hot and the ingredients are a step above those at other takeout Chinese restaurants. They clearly use fresh veggies and there are a ton of them in every dish. My 1st visit to Golden Great Wall was a dine in experience. Only one other table was occupied during dinner time, so I was a little leery. As we were dining, it became evident from the constant stream of counter visitors that most of their business is take out. The food and the service were outstanding. One generally expects Chinese food to be largely the same from restaurant to restaurant. Definitely not the case here. They are a cut above the rest in quality and flavor. The Hot and sour soup even blew my socks off. Again, you expect that kind of thing to be pretty much the same everywhere you go. But they have clearly given thought in their recipes to differentiate themselves. GREAT job! read more

My family and I came in on Christmas. I called earlier that day hoping to make a reservation. The hostess was very nice on the phone and obliged to my request. When my family and I came in at 6, our reservation time, the hostess said she could no longer honor our reservation. As you can imagine, my family and I were frustrated. The hostess seemed not to care. There was another family in the same boat as us. When we eventually got seated, the food was good, but the service was sub par. For example, I ordered egg drop soup that never came. I asked the waiter where my soup was and he said, "Oops, my bad, we are out of it." It would have been great if he communicated that to me. I loved the food we went out for a celebration not long ago and I left there stuffed the food is not very expensive and for a group of 20 people or so it was worth the money the people were very nice and catered to our every need this place is not that known but when people come I guarantee you will love it as much as I did. I didn't feel like cooking so I ordered pepper steak and told them because I was allergic to peppers if they can make it with onions, they said not a problem. I ordered pick up and when I got home it was all peppers and no onions. I called back and I said I wanted a new order delivered. They said they couldn't but I could pick it up for free. After I explained that I had already came by and picked it up for free and they got my order wrong they said they would deliver. I had to call back an hour after that because the food still didn't arrive. 45 min after that I called back again because the food still wasn't here and cancelled my transaction...and guess who had to cook at 9:30pm. read more

I have been eating here for years. Just called to place a delivery order. After I hung up the phone I realized my total seemed very high. I called back to verify. The shrimp fried rice I ordered was $3 more than the menu I had (which was not that old). When I questioned the price increase I was met with a response of "I don't care what old price says." This place is amazing. The food has always been great, and their hot & sour is fantastic. Sometimes you just need a great General Tso's chicken and this place HAS IT. we are all human we all make mistakes! when a good business makes a mistake they apologize. They find a way to try make it right. This place admits no mistakes, makes no apologies,acts like it's your fault. And makes no attempt to make it right! I've watched the older woman at the cash register be rude to customers! As she also has been with me! The last time I ordered four items two quarts and two Pints. They were all quarts. She made me wait while she went to kitchen and scraped the quarts into pints. when I got home I realized she left all the meat in the other containers. I called and confronted her. ( Already frustrated from prior incidents). I told her I spend about $160 a month here. And told her I didn't know if I would continue to come back. She said that's fine and hung up on me. Great food- made to order every time I order since I ask for special changes. Tonight I was sitting in their parking lot waiting for heavy rain to stop so I could run in and pick up my order when a waiter suddenly appears at my car window holding an umbrella and delivering my bag to me in my car...with a big smile!
