We're first time customers and so far, so good. Ordered weeknight delivery of sweet 'n sour chicken, mu shu vegetable and chicken chop suey. All were tasty and fresh, generous with the chicken and not at all oily. Hubby is particular about chicken chop suey and he was pleased. Entrees were plenty moist and not 'soupy' with sauce. Our only complaint is the mu shu contained mostly cabbage and little else, hence the 4 stars. We had been loyal to Peking Palace for nearly 20 years but never returned after our first visit under new ownership. It just wasn't the same. Delivery was fast and the driver was neat and courteous. First time customer and I relied on many of the yelp reviews but when my food came the egg drop soup was thick no flavor I had asked for hot chili oil none was given I had this delivered I know big mistake, Second item was the meat platter which was okay but of course would have been better in the restaurant instead of delivery because the egg rolls got soggy , my dish shrimp lo mein which other reviews had said was so good was so dry my shrimp was dry my noodles no flavor the sauce again very thick... bland I felt like it needed salt it just was not Chinese food pretty sad meal. Actually, negative stars are what is needed. Bad, tasteless, gummy noodles, and a handful of peanuts thrown on top of Kung Pao shrimp. Really, try to make an effort. One of my favorite restaurants in town! They have a ton of vegetarian options. The Mongolian Tofu is my favorite. I even love their egg rolls, which I don't really like at any other Chinese place in Tucson. Their lunch special is real inexpensive, yet it's not a small portion. I take half of it home with me, so I'm getting two delicious, vegetarian meals for less than I'd pay at a fast food restaurant for one meal. The staff is great and they have free WiFi! read more

My husband and I tried this on Christmas Eve. We ordered Family Dinner for 2. He got the mongolian beef and I ordered General Tso's Chicken. We really were not that impressed. The egg roll was ok. The Wonton Soup did not contain enough dumplings, but the broth was good. The sauces on both of our food were just not "THERE" enough. My husband and I ordered tonight for the first time in a very long time. We became vegan about a year and a half ago and didn't realize what amazing vegan options this place has to offer, until someone posted it in a Facebook group we are members of and we decided to give it a shot. We could not have been happier with what we ordered. We got the veggie lo mein with rice noodles (which was a huge portion!). I was nervous about the rice noodles but it was so delicious I didn't notice the difference and may have actually liked it better that way. We also ordered the lemon vegetarian chicken, which was so yummy and came with the sauce on the side, so it didn't get soggy. We got the general tso vegetarian chicken extra spicy, which was definitely spicy and delicious! The "chick'n" they used for both dishes was delicious, great texture, much like what I would make at home. We added in an order of the veggie rolls, which my husband loved! It can be difficult for us to find take out that is vegan, so was definitely a treat! Looking forward to ordering again and trying out some of the other dishes!! read more

The proprietors of the restaurant were warm and welcoming. I was glad to hear they never use MSG in any of their dishes. We ordered the Sesame Chicken and Garlic Broccoli. The chicken was just OK...it didn't have the crispiness that one would expect for a Sesame Chicken, and it had more of a sweet and sour flavor than the savory profile that I expect with this dish. I had intended to get some ingredients from Fry's to make a home cooked dinner. When I stepped out of the car and headed toward the door of Frys, my nose detected a delicious smell of Chinese food cooking just a few doors down. I walked past Fry's to give Golden House a try, and boy was I pleased. I was surprised by how many veggie options were on the menu! My beau ordered Mongolian beef and I had the veggie shrimp. We both really enjoyed our meals. Despite how much we loved the food, I did not give 5 stars, simply because the service was a tad unorganized. Love this place. Everything I have ever tried is delicious but the Szechuan chicken and hot sour soup are my favorites. The menu items that are fried are never dripping with grease and they they don't use msg in their food. Service is also great and usually very fast although there is sometimes a lunch rush. I have such a hard time finding Chinese food that I can actually eat. Being a vegetarian does not mesh well with Chinese food in the US. That said, this place is pretty darn spot on; they have vegetarian meat substitutes for everything, which means that I get to finally try everything that my husband loves. The only reason I knocked the review down to 4 stars is that I asked if the dish I was ordering was spicy, and the waitress said no... and dear goodness, it was pretty darn spicy (and I can handle a decent amount of spice). read more

With just about all the 5 star reviews I read about Golden House, I figured what do we have to lose? Plus, our good friends highly recommended it. So we went there a few nites ago and had dinner. Very friendly and welcoming staff and the place was clean, small, and with a pleasant atmosphere. I asked if they used MSG, and the (I assumed) owner said they do not, nor did they have it in the kitchen. So, I had to trust that the food would be flavorful without it. And it really was! Soups and entrees were about the best Chinese food we've had in many many years. And the dishes were visually appealing. Can't beat the prices for what you get, so what more can I say. This is the only place we'll go to for the best Chinese food in town. Hands down ! read more

Tried this place in 2012 when I moved in the neighborhood and was not impressed. My sister recently brought over and was amazing. Start ordering for myself and think it changed ownership and you can really tell. My favorite is egg foo young, and they are one of the few places making it fresh. Chicken was actually in the egg foo young, which so they are not freezing and then deep frying which makes it oily and gross. Went to get a to go order and every table was occupied. They are doing it right and that's why they are busy. Make good fresh food, and results show. read more

The people who run this place are wonderful, nice people! lWe have eaten there many times and the food has always been fresh, hot and delicious. However the last few times it hasn't been quite as good. Today we just picked up our food and it was lukewarm. The rice was really hard and stuck together so we could not eat it. Probably the best Chinese food restaurant I've ever had! The food was so good!!! It was actually healthy and delicious! The food wasn't grease as normal which was great! While we were there you could see the cook in the back actually chopping up fresh vegetables, I recommend the fried rice and orange chicken. So far the freshest and tastiest Chinese Food restaurant I've found on the NE side of Tucson.

My husband and I would go here all the time because the food is good and usually the customer service is good. We called in an order to pick up yesterday and I walked in to pay, I paid and as I turned to walk out I saw two cooks in the back (the only two cooks in the kitchen) cooking and filling containers for customer pick up orders with NO MASK ON. I asked for my money back due to the two cooks not wearing a mask and the woman who was working the front was very nice about it. Before she gave me my refund she walked to the kitchen and told the two cooks to put their mask on. There was one cook who looked irritated and put his mask on but pushed it under his chin so it was not on his face at all and the second cook didn't put a mask in period. Look every place I go you have to wear a mask, including restaurants and fast food places, not only for the safety of the employees but also for the safety of the customers. WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC and I have no idea if their cooks are sick. The last thing I want to do is eat my dinner with someone with covid made. It makes me feel very uneasy. read more

I love this place. My favorite go-to item is their Wonton soup with barbeque pork. It is so delicious and satisfying. I order it to-go quite often, in fact, I am eating it right now. Best dive Chinese in the valley, hands down. Place is always pretty quiet(they don't advertise AT ALL, I'm convinced that only people who work around here know about this place), and the lunch special(big portion of food, rice, and soda) is literally $4 after tax. Don't eat here expecting kitschy faux-Asian ambiance, or high end dining. Just a nice older Chinese couple making down-home Chinese takeout, and it usually ends up being less than half the price of the total crap they sell across the street at Panda Express. Also, it has a few vegan options(lo mein, tofu, etc.), and again, $4 FOR LUNCH. You can't even do that with fast food anymore! read more
