Woah woah woah, I'm a fan! I'm very specific and particular when it comes to my nails, as I'm sure a lot of people are. I like them a certain shape and if it's not perfect, I will obsess over it until it is fixed. I got a gel manicure, it's been 2 weeks and it has not chipped or faded off. My nail technician was Tina. She was very nice, very accommodating. I've actually never been this happy with a gel manicure. They usually chip by the first few days or have some weird bubbles or something goes wrong. I work with my hands a lot too, so the fact that this manicure has lasted me 2 weeks is wild. When it comes to my toes, I tend to have ingrown nails because I did ballet when I was younger, so when I told my technician, Mary, she tried her best to help me out. She didn't exactly fix it, but she tried! Now when it comes to color, I was assured that they have non-gel polish matches to the gel color I was getting on my hands. The color did not match at all. I had a light pink with some shimmer on my finger nails and they gave me a shimmer salmon, which I can understand sounds a little vain, but it didn't look good against my skin tone. Another downside, they didn't speak english well, so there was a slight language barrier, but the shop owner was very sweet about translating. Unfortunately I will not be returning here I wanted to like this place because it's only 3 min away from me and I've been trying to find a new nail salon but this isn't it. I've been here 3 times it's always the same lady doing my nails and k don't like how they are left well I went yesterday and i REQUESTED an appointment for a reason to not get her because I already knew what I wanted she was not going to know how to do. Mind you I'm getting my nails done for a special event EVERY nail place I've been too knows how to do ombré. I when to get my nails and pedicure with my 8 year old daughter I told them to paint my daughter toes and hand nails and they charge me $40.00 dollars that's ridiculous! I don't like leaving bad reviews, but my experience here warrants an honest story! A friend and I arrived at 6pm for our appointment and were immediately seated because the place was empty. Both my friend and I were cut during our manicures and weren't offered any type of discount. The woman doing my nails then proceeded to put hydrogen peroxide on the cut, and touched the bottle to my open wound, which made me very uncomfortable and felt unsanitary. In the two hours it took for my dip manicure to be completed, no other people came in for walk ins or appointments, which is a red flag! The manicure turned out mediocre. I keep giving this place a chance but I'm officially done. I went to get a pedicure and it was the worst one I've ever had. The polish was not great and my toe nails were cut uneven ! I asked if she could fix the shape. She mumbled something and dragged the file a few times and said okay it's going to be $65 (my daughter was with me). I just paid and left. Im truely disappointed at this place. Its one thing after another here and sadly I wont be returning if its for acrylics. I advise anyone who wants to get arcylic sets to be better off else where then here. My first complaint here is Sunny who is no longer here thankfully. I use to come here more often until he contacted me privately on yelp using another nail business name. Though he did a good job on arcylics... his message to me on yelp made it very uncomfortable to come back. The ladies that work here are extremely nice and the only reason I come back. I had taken some time off coming here before returning because I was too lazy to go too far from home and didnt want to wait long at the other location I go to since the guy there does a great job as well. My second complaint is the set I had gotten done a week ago. Terrible job and not only did he mess up and it wasnt what I wanted but because he was the only tech that does full sets.. i felt like he rushed it and didnt take the time on me to try to fix it. I showed him a photo of the shape set i wanted and he said he could do it. When shaping the set it came out very uneven. I told him a few times to make it more narrow and he didnt fix it. He passed me on to Hanh where she painted my set. It wasnt the perfect job I wanted and it came out extremely thick. Although I wasnt very pleased with what I paid for, the techs here are extremely sweet which breaks my heart to give such a low rating. It isnt easy to find a place that makes you feel welcomed. To add to the set I had gotten done here... i went to another salon to get it fixed a week later. The tech at the other salon removed the color and it was just terrible. The set i had gotten only a week prior (which is the set i got from this location) was already peeling. The tech at this new location explained to me the way it looked.. it was ready to come off in a week. I had to say something and I did . The lady got really upset because I said I didn't like the color that it was way different from what I choose , she insisted it wasn't until I told her to bring me the samples and she seen for her self . This is my second time coming here. I am a mani pedi girl sometimes I choose to do gel other times I don't depending if I know I want to change my nail color in a couple of days for an event or specific outfit etc. I always get a pedicure due to the fact that I get really bad ingrown toe nails on both sides of my big toes. I am very clear with the nail technician on that. First time I came in a guy did my manicure. I let him know that I am a hairstylist and have my hands in water all the time so I build up a lot of dead skin and get hang nails by the plenty. He completely took care of me made sure my nails and cuticles were clean. My gel polish lasted for an entire month with no lift or chipping. The girl that did my pedicure was ok. She went through the steps and cleaned very nicely. Did not go into looking for the ingrowns (maybe she forgot) totally cool it happens so I reminded her. She apologized and proceeded. She wasn't the best at removing them but she showed effort and the will to learn how to remove my ingrown toe nails. Which is awesome. She ended up doing a good job. Today was a different story! I go in ask for the same and I was told in 5 mins we will seat you. It took 30 mins whatever it they were busy I get it. They sit me down for a mani and I tell her the same thing about the hang nails and excess skin. She says ok but all she did was remove skin without a cause. So now I have even more hang nails. But the worst was the pedicure! After 30 mins of the mani they seat me over to get my pedi. This time I did a special color for an event so I will be changing it in a few days. So I went with regular polish. My nails are wet and no one offered to help me move my purse or get my sandals as I am used to. So in the end I ended up dropping my purse and struggling to get over to the pedicure chair. Still no one offered to help with my purse on the floor they just said it's OK just leave it. I sit down and reach over to get my purse because who like there purse on the floor (no one). She proceed and in the entire process I try to get her attention that my ingrowns are a problem that I want addressed. I am not sure if she couldn't hear me or she didn't understand me but she just completely ignored me throughout the entire pedicure process. She does however frequently stop and talks to the neighbor that is working on the girl next to me and continues to talk for about 10 minutes at a time stopping what she is doing. I mean I am on my day off but I do not want to be here all day. Once she allegedly gets done with my big toes I notify her saying I still feel the pain in my toenails if she can go over them again. What she did was simply grab the tool and pass it around my toenail not even attempting to find where I feel the ingrown toenail she proceeded to do the rest of the process. Three additional times I told her and even pointed to where and she just smiled and nodded. I was over it. I let her finish her process. I guess I'll try and do it at home. Now the paying part! For a mani-pedi regular polish with callus removal it was $31 not bad. But for the service I got it should've been free. I give her my card and she tells me only cash. When I clearly see a sign that says debit charge is a $1.50 charge which I was cool with. I tell her it's ok for the $1.50. She tells me that there is no debit card machine only atm to take out money which charges $2.00. I told her I don't have cash and I don't want to take out money because my credit union charges me another $3.00. I asked her why does she have a sign then that says it's $1.50 to use your debit??? She didn't say anything and charged my debit card on the debit card machine that they did have!!! What she did ask was if I wanted to tip. I'm sorry but I am in the service industry and I know that if I do not do or give a good service I don't get tipped nor should I!
