I'm giving 5 stars because the lady did my feet the exact way I wanted them done and that has been extremely hard to find. Especially after my hack job cutting I do weekly. There was one young lady who was somewhat pleasant but the rest of the staff could careless about you or anyone else in there. I don't think I've ever been in a place with that bad of a vibe. I didn't think I would ever give a nail space 1 star but wow... the 1 star is because they are convenient when you are running errands in the Whole Foods shopping area. That's about it. For $14, a basic mani includes a color change and a mediocre hand massage if you can call it that. The place is small, tight and not exuding a clean feeling. The woman who provided my service pretty much completed the service in less than 20 minutes and that includes drying time. The nail color lasted all of 2 days. My nails chipped and I finally removed the color after 3 days. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would.... So I decide decided to stop in because it was conveniently next to the Starbucks I just ate in. And there couldn't be any way someone could mess up a basic manicure with clear nail polish, right? What a mistake! First, the girl didn't even remove my old nail polish as I was subjected to her and two other ladies speaking loudly the whole time (not to me and not in English). She was looking at the ladies she was taking to more then my nails as she worked on them. She then pulled out the tools she was going to use to cut my cuticles and I noticed she folded the "sterilized" envelope she took them out of and placed it neatly back In her drawer. After she worked on my nails for a good ten minutes she put lotion on my hands and then told me to wash them. After washing my hands I asked her to look at my cuticles again and then she proceeded to paint over old nail polish. When I informed her of what she was doing, instead of removing the nail polish, she used a cuticle remover to pull the old nail polish and then kept right on painting my nails. When she finally finished, I asked her if it's regular practice not to remove the old nail polish and she didn't answer me. To top it of, after putting me under the hand dryer that required a magazine To be placed under it for it to even turn on, I saw her pull out the same used "sterilized" envelope and put the same tools she used on my hands right back in it into her drawer where she pulled them out earlier to use on me. I then asked her if they sterilize the tools and she tried to tell me that they take them to the back and do it, as she walked away. Im extremely unhappy with the service, and my bubbly nail polish that should have been too easy to do properly. I will never go back to this place. read more

My nail lady is honestly fabulous she takes GOOD care of my feet , I recommend the spa pedicure with gel polish

I don't normally review services; however, my experience today (Aug 8, 2022) was so disappointing that I feel I must warn others. The Technician performing my pedicure was rough, rude and unprofessional. Immediately after applying the polish, she quickly asked for payment and then left me in the service chair for over 15 minutes. Not knowing if my nails were dry (and wanting assistance with putting on my thong flip flops so not to smudge my nails) and realizing my technician was not going to return, I asked one of her co-workers where she was. The co-worker called her (with what I believe was a bit of sarcasm). After returning my technician said to me "you can go" and when I asked for assistance with my shoes she said, "next time you should wear shoes that are easier to put on", she then immediately snatched off the toe separators and walked away. In complete shock, I managed to put on one shoe without smudging my nails. She then returned to provide minimal assistance with the second shoe. I've never received a pedicure wherein the Technician did not provide assistance with shoes to include flip flops. I repeat, this was the WORST experience ever!!! read more

My sisters and I have been coming to Golden Nails for more than 10 years. Tu is my usual technician and she is great...knows exactly what I want because I'm really picky! No matter how busy it is she never rushes and pays attention to detail. I used to go to Catherine (the owner) a lot too and she is also wonderful. Cindy has done my nails a few times and she too does a great job. Everyone is so nice and they treat us like family. The space is very clean, open, pretty decor, and their massage pedi chairs are so comfy. I usually get a manicure with gel and pedi and it lasts for weeks. Sorry to say it, but there is nothing golden about Golden Nail Salon. This place sucks, plain and simple. I tried to give them a chance but they blew it. I recently stopped by for a pedicure and the lack of professional service was definitely a problem. Many of the technicians were more interested in gossiping and screaming at one another in front of customers. While the nail technician was working on my feet, I asked if she could scrub my heels since they seemed a little rough and in need of some exfoliation. Her response to me was dry and sharp "we don't do heels". Really? If you ask any podiatrist if the heel is part of the foot, they'll say yes it is. So with the pedicure, my heels can't be treated with the rest of my feet? Just what nail salon would want customers walking out the door following a pedicure with dry, ashy heels? Well, guess what I don't do? Tip nasty nail techs who don't know how to treat their customers. No, what Golden Nail Salon doesn't do is customer service. Don't give them your business. read more

At NYC's Nails and More, a manicure and pedicure combination will set a girl (or guy) $20. I haven't been able to find such a wonderful deal in the DC area, but $30 for the service seemed like a good bargain at Golden Nail Salon in Springfield (especially after walking around Potomac Mills)... I should've walked out when I entered. The nail salon lacked ventilation and reeked of chemicals. I chose a glittery silver color from their rather disappointing selection of OPI and lower end brand nail polishes. I recommend bringing your own. I was seated at one of their spa pedicure (w/ massage) chairs. I asked for reading material, but I didn't think my technician heard me. The water temperature was tepid at most. In the winter time (or any time), my feet prefer hot (or at least "bathtub warm") water. My technician and I had major language barriers. This doesn't concern me terribly much, but made my experience rather uncomfortable. She asked several times if I wanted an eyebrow wax, despite my disapproval. Why is that every time I go to a nail salon do they recommend eyebrow waxing? I barely have eyebrows! Overall, the manicure and pedicure were fine. (The cuticle nipper "nipped" several times during the pedicure though. Be careful with those things!) I was taken aback by the constant (loud) gossip. What made matters worse was when a child (I can't recall) brought in a mimicking parrot toy and several technicians played with it. Ongoing laughter ensues. Clearly, professionalism is not a priority at this salon. I would not return to this place, but my hands and soles are slightly satisfied. Curtis says he could've done a better job with no experience (and I don't have to pay him, at least with money). PS: They don't accept tips on credit cards (as most places do). read more

After getting a manicure, I dried my nails under the fan for 40 minutes and my nails still felt sticky. The girl clearly used the wrong top coat for my nails. My nails are all smudged a day later. They let a new young nail technician do my nails and she was not professional. My nails looked like I've done them myself but I was charged full price as if I had them done by a professional. Also, don't speak Vietnamese about ME and think that I'm not viet. and won't understand. I overheard them talk about every client in there; even a 7 year old girl. Never going back. Thanks to this less than sanitary salon and an overly aggressive technician who made me bleed and yelp in pain (no pun intended), I've been fighting a toenail fungus infection for over a year! As soon as she started cutting a cuticle and it hurt, I told her to stop. She said, "No, must get cuticle." She proceeded and, again, I cringed in pain and told her to stop, that it was okay - I'd rather have an imperfect cuticle than pain. She insisted and went for it again - that was when I pulled my foot back and told her that she had to stop or I would leave (yes, awkward!). She finished the pedicure and the next morning I woke up with pain in that toe. A week later, I discovered the fungus when I removed the nail polish (that was already chipping!)!:/ I thought, perhaps, that I had just gotten a crappy technician, but just a week ago a friend and I were chatting and we discovered that we both have toenail fungus infections from the same salon. This not only means applying a topical treatment 2x/day, but it means no more pedis - not only because it's embarrassing, but I certainly don't want to give it to someone else. Please do yourself a favor and find a higher quality salon to do your nails. You may save a few dollars at Golden Nail, but trust me, you'll spend much more on anti-fungal medications. read more
