I do wanna start off with saying that the pedicures that my husband and I received were amazing and the rating is not for the pedicures. I typically don't get my nails done with acrylics or extensions because I just do press on at home but because it was my birthday weekend I wanted to spoil myself a little bit so I didn't have to put on press and I was pampered a little bit. Originally, I had asked to do a basic manicure, but changed my mind to do gel extensions after seeing some of the work on yelp. So I asked for gelx extensions and I showed them the inspo picture that I wanted from Yelp. After my pedicure was done, they moved me to the chair so that I can start my gelx extension . When the application started, I started noticing that when she was applying the extensions, they were a little bit crooked, but I kept my mouth quiet because I assumed they would just fix it during the filing portion. When it came to the filing portion, for some reason, she pushed back all the cuticles on the inner side of each nail to file and make the almond shape but when it came to filing the outer side of each nail she didn't push the cuticle back which a lot of my fingers had gel on the skin. Once the filing was complete, I looked at my nails, and all of my nails were crooked. They were all pointing outward, and I noticed that one of my fingers had a nail extension that was put on there wasn't even the width of my natural nail, so there was a gap between my natural nail and the gelX extension. This nail had to be redone three times. Another nail artist came by and just grabbed my hand and started filing and didn't even say anything to me, almost like it was a bother to fix my nails. By this time I had been in the shop for almost 2 hours between my pedicure and starting my gelx extension. The nail artist asked me what design I wanted AGAIN, so save time I completely scratched the original design I wanted because it had intricate 3-D art and nail gems and decided to change to cateye nail polish. On the cat eye nail display that was provided me to choose the color, there were two types of magnetic design that I can have one was the S type of shape and there was a French tip "u" shaped magnetic designed that I personally wanted to get. When it came to actually doing the magnetic part to make the nail a cat eye, the artist didn't ask me if I wanted the S shape or the U shape they just kept going and they continued to cure each nail. You might ask why I didn't speak up. It was because I was already in the nail shop for over two hours and me and my husband had plans so I didn't have the time for her to completely remove the color to redo it due to her already curing each nail. Once I got in the car, I could already see that the nail needed at least one or two more coats because you can clearly see through my nail, which took away from the cat eye design and the way that she swirled the magnetic wand, It did not even leave the S shape. There is barely a cat eye on my nails, but to make matters worse, the nail that was used bend so easily and they are not strong whatsoever. So it was a bit of a disappointment to get a set of nails that could be great, but they were not. They were very crooked. I had to go home and fix them myself. So to spend $80 on a set of nails that were crooked, thin, easily bendable and you can see through them and did not have a true cat eye design on them and I paid extra for the cat eye. It was a bit of a disappointment. We are not from this side of the bay so going back to the shop is not an option for me. Again, I wanna repeat this review and rating is specifically for my gel X full set and not the pedicures that were received by my husband and I those were great.

I've been coming to Diva Nails in Millbrae for about a year, mainly to see Son. Unfortunately, ever since he became the manager/owner, the quality of his work has noticeably gone downhill. I decided to stick around because I understood he might be overwhelmed, but the experience just kept getting worse. Sitting in his chair now feels rushed and stressful. It's like he just wants to get you in and out as quickly as possible, regardless of quality. He gave me three sets that I didn't like. On the fourth visit, I finally spoke up because it was a French tip that wasn't done well. He spent maybe five extra minutes fixing it, and that apparently was too much. The unspoken rule seems to be that you're not allowed to spend more than 30 minutes in his chair. When I tried to make an appointment again, he told me not to come back. I find this extremely disappointing and unfair, especially to customers who were loyal for years and supported him by sending business his way. Being fast shouldn't come at the cost of quality or basic respect for paying customers.

They then tried to give me a completely different color than the one I had selected. To make matters worse, I was charged double for removing my existing polish and applying the new polish. If I had been told upfront that there were limited dip colors and that there would be additional charges, I could have made an informed decision before they started. The entire experience felt misleading, rushed, and extremely frustrating. I went in knowing exactly what I wanted and clearly communicated it, yet I did not receive the service I asked for and was charged more than I expected. I do not recommend this place and will not be returning. There are plenty of nail salons where you should be able to trust that the service you request is the service you'll receive.

I recently visited Golden Nail Spa, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Let me share the details: Hygiene and Cleanliness: The salon looks contemporary but the tools were sitting on the desk as if the nail tech just finished them with another customer. Inconsiderate Technician: The nail technician assigned to me seemed careless. She trimmed my cuticle with an electric nail machine (expedite the process), then she used the cuticle nipper to finish off, resulting in messy cuticles. My gel manicure was disappointing, the color was painted over my cuticles. Rushed Service: The entire process felt rushed. Not to mention there was no customer waiting. The technician barely took the time from start to finish. Her head turned a couple times to another desk while filing to gossip. Lack of Attention to Detail: The final result was subpar. Uneven polish application and over the nail bed. She was so rough and cut my skin trying to file the polish that went on my skin. I asked for white but the white looks yellowish when I got home. This is not salon quality. Atmosphere: The other staff was courteous, greeted upon arrival and thanked after service. Overall, my experience at Golden Nail Spa was disappointing. As a customer, I should at least leave the salon with acceptable result. read more

This salon is fast, affordable, and friendly. I usually walk in without any issues, and I love that they offer a great selection of colors, including OPI and Essie. Both the manicure and pedicure are done efficiently without feeling rushed. It's also a wonderful spot for a mother-daughter outing--they always treat my daughter well and offer reasonably priced manicures for children. Highly recommend! read more

Clean and efficient. Nice new chairs with massage. Got mani and pedi and they are very thorough. Regular pedi includes hot rock massage. They can do a better job with the rocks. Once the rocks were too hot and sometimes it feels like they just run the rocks over your skin. A little more training with the rocks would make this a total A+ place read more

This was a horrible experience. Always got nails done here. The associates are not professional at all, theyll talk about you in their language when you let them know the design you requested for is not what you wanted. Made me wait over 2 hours to get started on my nails. They get you a seat immediately but don't attend you promptly. read more
