I had my first visit to this establishment the other day. We started with the crab wantons which were good. For the entree we got the walnut shrimp and the Happy Family. The walnuts had some kind of glaze on them and were very good. Both of the entrees were delicious and I would order either one again. Service was very good and attentive. The air conditioner was on full blast when we walked in making it extremely cold and they turned it off immediately when asked. This is my favorite chinese food spot on the weekends. I live in Rockwall and probably have 6-7 asian restaurants that I pass on the way to Golden Pot. I've never been disappointed with my selections and the staff are extremely friendly, when I call to place the order and when I pick it up. I've tried many items on the menu, and my favorites are: Orange Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork (my daughter can't get enough of it), Pineapple Fried Rice, and the Hot and Sour Soup. I love the soup because it tends to lack flavor at other restaurants, maybe because people don't want it extremely hot or sour, but this is bursting with spices and mushrooms/proteins. The only thing missing from the menu is a Salt Pepper Chicken or Salt Pepper Sparerib dish, which I haven't been able to find at many restaurants in this area. I love it! read more

This place is very good and not expensive. We have tried many Asian restaurants and this is by far the best in Frisco. We order online and place special instructions (no spice etc.) and the order is always right and always hot. We have never waited more than more 20 minutes for our food to be delivered. Great service and the food has a very authentic taste. Finally, they do not skimp on the shrimp in their shrimp fried rice. If you are like me, the shrimp also has to be de-veined, which they are. It is very large and I have to use a knife to cut it. My family and I are definite fans! read more

I have had Golden Pot delivery to our home many times and have always been a fan of the fast friendly delivery and the delicious food so we decided to go into the restaurant to eat. I'm not sure why, but the food was not that great in the restaurant. The food was overly saturated in sauce and overcooked. We ordered the same things that we usually order for home delivery so I'm not sure what the difference is, or if they changed recipe's or chef's or something. Sadly, I'm no longer a fan of the food but the service was still really friendly. read more

3 days ago, I went on my next yelp adventure to golden pot. This establishment is absolutely wonderful. Although the position of the building is rather awkwardly placed. They sure knew how to work around that. The second you walk in you are calmly welcomed by a person at the front desk, and taken to a seat. The air conditioning, music, and wall art is all perfectly matched with the feel of the area. Ar our seat, we were quickly greeted by a young man, and I ordered the orange chicken platter. I have to say. Impeccable. I found it very filling, and the rice was alot more than it looked at first glance. The chicken had a great flavor but I wont delve too much into that. As we left they said good bye, and said they hoped we enjoyed our stay. All in all, great food, great service, great people. And for those who work there. 谢谢 read more

Seriously the best Chinese food restaurant ever. My favorites are the Spicy Kung Pao and the Pad Thai, I always get mine with tofu. My husband and I are going to move out of state soon and my biggest fear is that I won't find a place to get Kung Pao as good as the Golden Pot makes it. read more

This review is a result of our second experience with this restaurant. The first time I tried it we ordered delivery and it was pretty good. This time? It was horrid. We ordered Roast Pork with rice noodles, chicken with rice noodles and Mu Shu Pork. I tried one bite of the Mu Shu - it tasted like dead fish. I threw it straight in the trash. My hubby was more stubborn, he ate all of his chicken dish even though he said it didn't taste all that great. He has been sick all day today. I told my daughter not to even try her dish and had her throw it out. Talk about money down the drain. We won't be ordering from here ever again. read more

I really enjoy this food. It is very fresh and hot, even when delivered. The chicken is of a good texture, not fatty and gristly at all (my biggest complaint on some chinese establishments). This place serves really good Chinese/Japanese/Thai dishes. The portion sizes are good and worth the money. The sesame chicken had grissle pieces in it, the steamed dumplings were soggy, the rice was cold and the cashew chicken had no chicken in it...I called to let them know, and the girl hung up on me. I made reservations for ten people via the internet, and was honestly surprised when we showed up, that the table was set, ready and waiting for us when we arrived. Online I included the information that one of our group was celebrating her 21st birthday, and the owner knew about it when we arrived. So it seems that the online reservation and ordering system works well. All the food we got was wonderful! I had number E18 Spicy Yellow Curry with shrimp. I had never eaten anything like it, and I LOVED it! Amazingly, it included a dozen large shrimp, much more than most Asian restaurants include in their meals. I had a small bowl of delicious hot and sour soup as well. At the end of the meal, the owner/wait person brought a special cake for the birthday girl! We are thrilled that we have discovered a really good Chinese/Asian restaurant here in Rowlett, Texas, not far from where we live, and we plan to return frequently! read more

This place is the bomb dot com. I would drive 30-40 mins everyday for my lunch break just to eat their food. The waitress that we had was superb! She had a big warm smile the whole time we were here. I ordered take out for my family, Front staff is very nice and efficient. Restaurant dining room appears clean, lots of seating, good ambiance. All of the dishes were very tasty, I had Sichuan Beef, my parents had Broccoli Beef and Kung Pao chicken. One bad thing that happened: my brother got sick from his order of Combination Singapore Mei Fun noodles, which had shrimp. Maybe the shrimp were bad? I dunno, but he went to doctor who determined that it was a mild case of food poisoning, so i have to give this experience two stars. read more

I moved into Dallas and have not had a chance to get my Golden Pot fix in way too long! This place is just as good as I remember, if not better. Their employees are ALWAYS so nice and accommodating. Customer service is great over the phone and in person, which is a huge plus for a Chinese resteraunt. I love their tofu dishes, curry, and their hot and sour soup is superb. This is still my favorite "fast-foood" chinese restaurant in Texas to date. The food is always fresh and everything I have tried here is delicious!
