We ordered takeout through door dash when I was too exhausted to leave the house. The Texas heat can be exhausting. Kudos to the delivery drivers. The food was delicious. The egg foo young was good. The low mein was yummy. The spring rolls were great. Everyone loved the egg rolls and soups. The portions were generous. It would be useful to have stickers or a way to mark each dish, especially with large orders. Some of us ordered extra sauces. They didn't charge or it.

Honestly some of the best take out I've ever had. Second time we've ordered from them and it didn't disappoint. We ordered egg drop soup, orange chicken with steamed rice, chicken lettuce wraps, a side order of lo mein noodles, and a few spring rolls. For a family of four we ate our fill and still have leftovers for tomorrow. I was surprised at how good the lo mein was! Absolutely delicious. Golden Pot is a little further out than we would normally look, but thanks to DoorDash it was an option. This is 100% our go-to take out place from now on!

Second time getting takeout from golden pot. The first time was the better from this time. I tried the bbq pork with the fried rice this time...it was not good, it was so dry & the flavor was for lack of a better word gross. The lo mein was delicious. I think maybe this time was a fluke with the fried rice but will definitely order from here again, it is only takeout here, no dine in currently. Also, the wings are amazing!

YUMMY!!! The hubs and I were craving Thai food and I noticed they had Singapore Mei Fun noodles on the menu that sounded like exactly what we wanted. Delivery was quick and the food was so so so good! We had to order it again the next day! Just excellent stuff! The hubs went there to pick up our third round of the same thing since he was out running errands and he says that the restaurant is super clean and really inviting. We have made this a regular choice for that dish. It has been perfect every time! read more

A couple weeks later I received a call from one of the owners, who was very kind and apologetic.He refunded the $3 and also sent a $25 Golden Pot gift card in the mail. I am still in shock that this happened and am hesitant to go there or call in an order, because this manager is still employed there. But I really do love those spring rolls... So perhaps we'll give them another try. read more

Terrible name for this place... But incredible food! I like all of their Japanese curry's, The cashew chicken is the bomb, their chicken cho-cho is good, and the crab wontons-wonderful. They do delivery and it's prompt and food is always hot when it gets there. Turnaround time on delivery seems to be 30 to 40 minutes which is in line with everybody else, if you're willing to pick it up it's ready in 10. The staff is always professional and nice and they actually care rather the food is what it supposed to be and if it's still hot. I hope that they are really nice to the health food store next-door... Because people picking up to go orders are always parking in that spot! read more

Hands down, best oriental food we've found in the area. Food is delicious, served fast by very friendly staff. When we decide to get Chinese we always end up agreeing on Golden Pot. When we go anywhere else we end up saying "it's ok, but not as good as Golden Pot"!! read more

My wife and I went here for dinner on Sat; it was the best Asian food we have ever had. All pictures on yelp are true to size. The food was excellent and fresh. I have tried many Asian restaurants in the area, and Golden Pot is the best! My favorite is the Spicy Basil, but my family prefers the sweeter Hibachi dishes. Interior is nice and service is good, but it's the food that keeps us coming back! read more

Best Chinese food I've had in a long time. Staff is very friendly and the decor is very warm and inviting. We love the chicken & vegetables and the general tsao chicken, which is lightly breaded and more chicken than bread. Sauces are not overpowering, they are just right. read more

This is my favorite Chinese place in town! The food is great, the atmosphere is great, and service is always good. Everything I've had has been really good! Some Chinese food places make their sauce too thick and greasy. Golden Pot makes theirs perfect, not too heavy on your stomach. And the egg rolls are amazing!! read more

I went here for the first time with my family this weekend and what a great gem to discover!! It was a little busy on Sunday afternoon but the workers were super nice and attentive. It took a little time to get our orders but the food came out FAST when we put them in! The food was DELICIOUS too! I feel like the category should be called Asian fusion and not Chinese like in the title outside. Good variety of Chinese, Japanese and Thai food! They also have lunch specials from 1-4 every day, even on weekends, which is awesome! The lunch portions are still a decent size too! I got the yellow curry with chicken, mom got yellow curry with beef, dad got red curry with beef, and my sister got sesame chicken. We also got pot stickers and my dad got the hot and sour soup. Everything was great! My sister also got the mochi ice cream which was such a different and pleasant delight. We will definitely be visiting again! read more

I am more a fan of local Chinese food restaurants that I am Chinese food chain restaurants. When our family first moved to Rowlett we ate at Chan's in Rowlett. When they close down, not long after Golden Pot opened. I am guilty of ordering the exact same meal every time so I cannot speak for the whole menu, but I am a huge fan of their chicken with broccoli. The brown sauce has a great flavor. When my husband use to order orange chicken or sesame chicken from Chan's he always said that it tasted like all breading and no chicken. With Golden Pot this is not the case. You get big chunks of chicken with light breading and great flavored sauces. It truly tastes better and we feel like you get great quality for your money. We will continue to eat at this location as our main source of Chinese food for as long as it is open! read more

Excellent food consistently!!! Especially the spicy basil chicken, which is fabulous! Service is a bit slow, so don't go in a hurry, but it is well worth the wait! Have also had the hibachi, cashew chicken, and pad Thai, which were all really good. The sweet and sour chicken is incredible too! Light and fluffy and not at all greasy. Delicious!!! read more

This could very be the best delivery Chinese food I've ever had. The Hot and Sour Soup IS the best I've ever had. Top quality food that tastes fresh and delivery is fast. You can even order online. Great food as always, we love the curry and general tso's chicken. Food is hot and well prepared when it arrives. But, store claims there is a 30 minute delay with the online app, taking the previous order over an hour for delivery. This time the order was delivered within 20 minutes but the delivery driver was headed back to his car when the door was answered and the person taking the order had trouble. Hope they fix their delivery service because it's great food. read more

This Wow Bao location, which wasn't on Yelp (so I added it, that's how strongly I felt), doesn't seem to provide good quality food for the price. The fried chicken fried rice had pieces of what looked like fried shredded chicken, or fried cubed chicken, but the point is there was much more breading than meat and the breading was overly charred. There was little taste, and it just wasn't an enjoyable experience. I'd say the same for the potstickers, which were a bit hard and seemingly dry, the bao, which was a little too doughy (but a little more flavorful than the potstickers or fried rice), and the cream cheese rangoon, which was just average. However, the taste and variety of options offered were very disappointing. Somewhat cooked broccoli and some cabbage were the only items added to the protein. It was more flavorless rice than anything else. No wonder the Greek food truck had such a long line! It was a beautiful day to eat at the park and watch all of the folks, kids, dogs enjoying a spring day!

And if the Yaji rice is too spicy for you, then the Wahala might be a less spicy alternative... but only slightly. As for the wings, sign me up for anything jerk. Dry rubs are usually my go-to, but I like this one.

My dad literally held his credit card out past the table to show he needed the check. Over six minutes later she was STILL yapping to an elderly woman about her history class? Jesus! I understand its a family place & the locals like to talk but this was ridiculous. Somebody needs to teach this girl some manners.

Wow, I'm shocked by the bad reviews. They must have some angry ex-employees because I tried this place for the first time today (delivered) and couldn't wait to finish eating to get on here and post this. I am very picky when it comes to chinese, I always order schzechwan (however u spell it) beef and no one can ever get it right ,5 out of 6 times it's bad and if this place can get that right I would imagine all their other stuff is really good. Their hot and sour soup was excellent, egg rollss were really good and the gentleman on the phone was very nice and patient even though I could tell he was busy being it was during lunch hour. People can be so hateful and mean, it's ashame because it is really hard to find good chinese and then people want to sabatoge the business cause someone forgot his wifes rice or something as small as that . I've tried numerous places in Dallas and Rowlett and Golden Pot is one of the best! I just tried it for the first time several weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised by the generous amount of chicken breast in their dishes. I've now tried their General Tso's, Szechaun Chicken, Pad Thai, Cashew Chicken, Crab Rangoon, steamed dumplings, vegetable eggrolls, chicken eggrolls, and Hot and Sour soup. I haven't been disappointed by any of the dishes and it's the only place I'll ever order from as long as I'm in Rowlett. They are also very prompt about delivery and the delivery people are super nice. I also added a note to add zucchini in the online order form for cashew chicken and generous portions were added. I have NEVER had better food! I ate here for the first time, week b4 last and was so impressed with the food and with the service. The food is fresh and well cooked, well plated. The service is friendly and prompt. My table was a bit demanding but the service was equal to the demands. When the place became a bit busy, the service slowed somewhat but that was certainly understandable. Since that time we have ordered DELIVERY and was equally, impressed. I commend the staff here for their dedication to their craft. read more

This place is really good and I'm pretty picky about near when it comes to take out good. My favorite thing about Golden Pot is the fact that they have my favorite dessert which is almost impossible to find anywhere else! Golden Pot has always come in clutch with the orange chicken and fried rice! If you're looking for a calming, but satisfying dinner, then this is the right place for you lol. I've also tried the Pad Tai and it is too delicious! Anything you order will be above par so don't be afraid to mix it up! read more
