Unfortunately came during a busy World Cup game, however it seems like there was miscommunication in between the whole front of house team. I came with four other people and waited to be "seated", however they took us to a stand up table where we would be standing. I wish they could have communicated in advance by saying hey we have no tables right now or advise about potential waiting time. Anyways we ended just trying to get a beer, we couldn't get beers for the table upstairs, then they told us to go back down, so we're just being played like ping pong balls. We go finally were able to order our beer, since in the end we still wanted at least one beer, even if we didn't get any food to sit and eat. This is the third time I have been here and it is always amazing! Also note, they have sadly decreased their menu (RIP the short rib melt) But, we got the blackened chicken sandwich, turkey bacon club, fish tacos, and fried green beans. The blackened chicken sandwich was so good, the chicken was well seasoned and juicy. I loved the pickled onions on it The turkey bacon club was also amazing! The turkey was so thick, I was shocked! I love the toasted sourdough bread and it had a good amount of avocado. The fish tacos were not as good as the sandwiches but they all had pretty big pieces of fish which was nice! The green beans were good, but the breading was a little too thick for my taste. The jalapeno ranch was yummy though! We ordered at the bar, but the lady who took our order was so nice, especially when we were asking about the new menu! Whenever I go it is always good food and service. Fun neighborhood brewery. The beers are really good, from IPAs to their pilsner and rice lager too. They have plenty of food items to choose from so on this visit we had the pizza, fries, and pretzel. Everything was good except the pretzel. The space is comfortable with plenty of outdoor and indoor space. The staff were helpful and friendly . T,v's are peppered all over making it easy to get a get view of the game of the day. The brewery is fog friendly, so feel free to bring your four legged friend. They have flights available so you can pick and choose which ones you want to try. When my friend and I first entered there was no acknowledgement and not sure if we just seat ourselves. We sat for about 3-5 minutes and still no assistance. I walked up to an employee for help and he did not seem too intrigued to help and just said yea you can order from the bar too. Started looking at the menu online and my friend decided to ask an employee for her opinion and she advised us that they have a menu and proceeded to get the menu and give it to us; this menu was in front of the first guy I was speaking to. I wanted to leave but decided to give the food and drinks a try since it was my first time here. Drinks were ok and the food was good. During our lunch visit on Friday, August 7th, we had an extremely disappointing interaction with a Black female bartender that put a damper on our entire dining experience. I unfortunately did not get her name, so I am including this description solely so management can identify which bartender was working during the lunch shift that day. I ordered a michelada, and when the bartender asked for my ID, I explained that I had unfortunately left it behind but that I am 31 years old. I completely understand that an establishment may have a strict policy against serving alcohol without valid identification, and I would have had absolutely no issue if she had simply told me she couldn't serve me. Instead, she responded, "What is that supposed to mean?" staring right at me with a glare, and then proceeded to question me about why I didn't have my ID, ask for my birthdate, and speak to me in an unnecessarily rude and condescending manner. The interaction felt less like a straightforward ID check and more like an interrogation over the simple mistake of forgetting my ID. She ultimately made an exception and allowed me to order the drink, while explaining that ID verification was something Golden Road had been focusing on lately. While I appreciated the exception, whether or not I was served was never the issue. The issue was the way I was spoken to. A simple, "I'm sorry, but I can't serve you without your ID," would have been completely understandable, and I would have respected that without complaint. There was simply no reason for the hostility, condescension, or the way the situation was handled. Her demeanor made the interaction uncomfortable enough that I seriously considered walking out, and it left a sour taste in our mouths for the remainder of our visit. I hope management reviews who was bartending during lunch on August 7th and addresses this interaction appropriately. Customer service is ultimately about how you treat people, including when you have to tell a customer "no." Unfortunately, this experience fell far short of what I would expect from Golden Road, and at this point I have no intention of returning to this location anytime in the near future. **Update: Management has reached out and offered some compensation to make amends for the situation that occurred, so we truly appreciate and did not expect this type of response. I've been patronizing Golden Road since they first opened, way before it was packed with people and before the expansion. In fact, I became one of the first members of Chloe's and still have my membership card. I became a huge fan of their Hefewiezen and their Get Up Offa That Brown beers and have always enjoyed bringing friends to Golden Road. Then they sold out to Anheiser Busch but thankfully things stayed pretty much the same for a long time. Now it's different and I'm not a fan. The menu has grown and the beer selection has shrunk. On my recent visit, they had neither of my favorites, beers that have been on tap since Day One! They've also stopped brewing on site and no longer offer tours. I am really bummed because I've been a fan for so long. What I feared would happen when they were sold has finally come to fruition. So we chose different beers and put in an order for the Tuna Poke Nachos and the Short Rib Sandwich. The nachos were huge but underwhelming. The tuna was not seasoned at all and the remaining ingredients (avocado, cucumber, pickled onion, etc) were drenched in enough eel sauce that the chips got soggy and the whole thing tasted like a dessert from the sweetness of the sauce. The short rib was much better but it did not come with the au jus to dip it in as stated on the menu. Thankfully their beers are still good, despite the fact that I couldn't get the ones I wanted. But the food was underwhelming which makes me sad. I miss the old Golden Road. read more

I enjoy Golden Road's Mango Cart and thought it would be cool to checkout the actual brewery. I've been here several times for happy hour and at night. It's a cool hangout place to get drinks with your group of people! There is an indoor seating area, an outdoor seating area, and more group seating where the bar is located. There is also a turf area where your kids or grownups can play jumbo checkers and other group games. Very dog-friendly and there is also a pet relief area. The drinks and food here is good! I did try many of their foods and it was good. The most memorable food was the birria fries. I was very happy with the portion but the only thing was I wish this came with some sort of birria sauce/ consume because it was too dry. Besides that, it was delicious. My puppy tried the Peanut Butter Pup Ice Cream but sadly he didn't like it... I ended up eating it haha! Parking tends to be limited but not an impossible task to grab a spot eventually. Service was slow during the times I visit. I've had to get up and ask several times when the food would arrive because we were already on our second drinks without any food on the table. And sadly, the happy hour menu and pricing isn't anything to write home about. But still, it's a spacious and reliable place to casually meet and socialize! read more

Happy hour menu (tacos) are not worth the price they were charging for. The personal pizza is a small size which was fine for me, but not sure if it was worth the price. My favorite is still their pretzel! Water is self serve and they had heating lamps for the patio. Which was great because it did get cold. Service was decent, but hard to find someone when we were trying to beat the clock to order more happy hour menu. They also required us to put a card for the tab. Love this place. Been coming here for years and it just keeps evolving and getting better and better. Love the space especially the side patio where on a hot day you're shaded and they have the fans going. It's really just a laid back fun atmosphere throughout. Ara was our server and she was phenomenal. She checked in on us and was friendly and helpful. One of the things I love most about Golden Road is that they have a Vegan Menu...like a legit Vegan Menu. Almost everything they have on their other menu they have a Vegan alternative. I went for the Pretzel with Vegan Beer Cheese and Spicy Mustard and for my main I had the Vegan Burger with Cheese and Fries. Love the new Ciabatta Bun. Next time I'm going to ask if they can toast/heat the bun a bit more. It was slightly toasted on the inside in parts but the outside was cold and with how dense the bun is I felt like I was mainly biting into a cold burger. The Pretzel appetizer was chefs kiss! Despite living so close to Golden Road Brewing, I've sadly only been here twice. My most recent experience was this past Saturday for a quick beer after unsuccessfully trying to find parking at the Americana in Glendale due to it being Black Friday weekend. For ~$8.75, I enjoyed a 22oz of the tropical hazy (I forget the proper name). The three of us also split a pretzel, which was very delicious. I tried the tacos with birria and grabbed a Mango cart and a Get up off that brown ale at the bar. The Get up off that brown ale was a smooth brown. Nathan absolutely made the experience at Golden Road(difficult to find online for a review). From the moment he came over, his energy was infectious. He was upbeat, friendly, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling forced. He was sharp, attentive, and impressively accurate with everything we ordered, which honestly makes a bigger difference than people realize. What really stood out was his personality. When he opened the tab and dropped his catchphrase, "Is that what you go by?", it instantly set the tone. It is such a small thing, but it is memorable, funny, and somehow makes the interaction feel more personal. You can tell he actually enjoys what he is doing. Every time I pull up to this spot, it's like a breath of fresh air. There's this green bush fence lining the outside of the brewery, so right away, it feels like you're heading somewhere fun. They've got games like cornhole (you know, the one where you toss a little sack into the hole on the board) set up outside and there's plenty of space for everyone, including families. I always see a bunch of kids during the day, but if you're like me and prefer more of an adult-only vibe, I'd suggest coming a little later when the crowd shifts. The beer? Amazing. They have a wide selection to try, and there's plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoor. You can even walk around with your drink around the enclosed area, which is neat. I'm not sure if there's a cut-off time for kids being allowed, so I'd just call and check if that's important to you. Their food is also really solid for a brewery. I tried the spinach and artichoke dip, and it hit the spot. Overall, if you're in the greater LA area, this is definitely one of the breweries worth checking out. I know they have other locations, but this one is by far the best. It can be a little tricky to find if you've never been, but once you're there, it's totally worth it. I ended up ordering the chicken Caesar salad, which was simple but satisfying. My fiancé and I also shared the chicken nachos, and those were definitely a highlight--really flavorful and worth trying. He ordered the pub burger and was happy with it, so no complaints there. The biggest downside was the service. It was quite slow, and unfortunately, my food came out much later than his. By the time I got my meal, he had already finished eating, and our puppy had officially lost patience with the whole outing. I ended up taking my food to go, which wasn't ideal. The burger was excellent, and while we had doubts about the veggie wrap when we first saw it, it ended up being really tasty. - Service was pretty good, although I hate when a place that is mostly a brewery shows tipping options starting at 20%. My spouse and I were looking for a spot for lunch and came across this place on Yelp, so we decided to give it a try. Parking was easy, though it was pretty busy (it was a Sunday after all). There were several outdoor seating areas, and one seemed specifically designed for dog owners, which was a nice touch. The whole place is very dog-friendly, which was awesome. When sitting in the ground-level outdoor seating area, we learned you have to order at the bar and bring your food to your table. However, if you sit in the top-level outdoor area or indoors, a server will take your order and bring it to you. Everyone working there was incredibly friendly and helpful. The menu offers a variety of great options, including choices for vegans like my spouse. He had a delicious vegan cheeseburger with vegan cheese and fries, which he really enjoyed. Before that, he had nachos but requested all the ingredients be served separately on the side, so he could take the leftovers home without it getting all mixed up--great idea! I went for one of their giant, soft pretzels with cheese and mustard. While I'm not a fan of sweet mustard (where I'm from in Munich, it's typically paired with a specific sausage), I also ordered a bowl of their chili. Let me tell you, that chili was fantastic. Had my 29th birthday at this location and had a great time! Was close to our next venue activity so decided to do some research on what was near and golden road showed up so gave it a try. It is very weird to me that you cannot take reservations especially since I called a week in advance. They said they noted it and when I showed up with my 18 guest, they could not accommodate and I was switched around from spot to spot and ultimately ended up out front where seating was first come first serve. I would think that you would want to allow reservations because of the amount of customers coming in to spend money. Nonetheless, had a good time and the drinks selection was great and the food was solid. Like any bar, you will pay a decent amount but had a good overall experience.
