We got to the restaurant about an hour before close. The team was able to make last minute accommodation for a party of 11. Food came out soon after we placed order. Golden spoon is a new thai restaurant in a very worn down plaza off Main Street in Manteca. Don't be fooled by the exterior- inside has been tastefully updated with classy and modern decor. Most importantly, their food is made with quality fresh ingredients and taste incredibly delicious! IMO great thai food has a complex combination of flavors that requires balance between sweet, sour, salty, and spicy. Golden spoon nailed it. The service is attentive and friendly and the menu is quite extensive, featuring many thai dishes you wouldn't normally find. We cannot wait to return already! read more

Nice and clean inside. They redid this restaurant really nice. Food was great. I ordered the shrimp pad Thai which was very good. Loved the big pieces of egg. My husband ordered the spicy whole fried fish. Very tasty! Also love how they give you a little pot of rice when you order in the side. Got the garlic short ribs for an appetizer, but they came out after our food so we were already full from our entrees. They were tasty but kind of hard to get off the bone. Service was excellent. Terrible service. We were sat immediately then Ignored for 15-20 minutes. The lady behind the counter was more concerned with the pick up orders than taking our order in the restaurant. When my wife walked up to the counter to ask if should take our order she said she would be there in a few minutes. Honestly it was very disheartening to be ignored because we have ordered take out from them before and we really enjoyed the food, but tonight it sucked to be treated like a low priority. read more

Totally recommend this place. Friendly, clean, vibrant, and totally on top of quality service. To thai in manteca. The only downfall is that I wouldn't recommend the house dressing. Taste like a light miracle whip/ sweet mayo. Maybe if they added rice vinegar and fresh garlic? Mikasa and all thai in tracy are on top for dressings. I've been to this restaurant a few times now and each time I've went, they have not disappointed me. Every dish Ive tried has been so flavorful, but really spicy! I usually have to go for mild because the medium spice is a bit unbearable for me. I've gotten the butterfly fish, seafood soup, fried crab balls, and spicy basil with rice. We arrived during busy dinner rush. Only waited 20 mins for a table. We ordered 8 dishes and everything was super delicious. My top 4 favorites were basil pork belly, fried tofu and pad thai. Stopped on a Friday for lunch with a friend. The restaurant is modern but comfortable and was not terribly crowded. The food is fantastic!! This is a "must go to" destination if you are visiting Great Wolf Lodge and looking for a reprieve from a long day at the water park or even a great stop for lunch to provide parents a break from the humidity of the water park. Ugh..disappointed with this place right now..we always go here and i tried calling to reserve for dinner at 830 pm just because the graduation ceremony starts at 6 pm and it might take long. This time slot is available for reservation on here at yelp for my daughter's graduation and when i called to give them a heads up, the lady that answered the phone wanted me to come in at 730 because they close at 9? My honey and I love Thai food and we're excited to see this new place with 5 star ratings in town so we came here for date night. The small place was busy and crowded with people waiting to get seated but with 2 seats available at the counter. We gladly accepted the "front row seats." Ambience was warm, friendly, and buzzing with people enjoying their food. Since we were at the counter we got glimpses of all the hot food coming through the window. We decided to order crab rolls which were very delicious served with a honey type sauce, crab dried rice, beef pad see ew, and ginger fried fish. Everything was so delicious!!!! Bummed I didn't take more pictures. There was so much food for the both of us so we decided to finish the fish off since it wouldn't reheat well as leftovers. We saw many other diners ordered pad Thai that looked very delicious. We had nice conversations with the owner Yo, and the lovely lady helping host and serve. She gave me a complimentary Thai that had a hint of jasmine in it. So good! Even though we were fully we couldn't pass up the mango sticky rice which was the best we've ever tasted! The side shot of the sweet coconut milk made it classy. Aside from the wonderful food and service the owners and workers are very friendly and welcoming. They're trying to decide if they'll stay here in Manteca and move if the restaurant continues to be successful. (Currently they're commuting from SF.) Please visit this lovely new restaurant in town. We've already ordered food to go since our first visit a week ago. We need more wonderful restaurants in town. Hoping they stay and expand their restaurant as the cozy little place has the capacity for only about 28 diners but they could easily pack a place if it was twice the size. read more
