I am going three stars on this location due portions and flavor. They do not give you a lot of meat with the meals it's heavy vegetables which some people may like but I want my moneys worth. Garlic sauce I thought was good and so are the pot stickers. The fried rice for sure needs some work it really doesn't have much in it compared to other places around. Would I suggest this place yes give it a try it's a mom and pop run shop and it's worth the try. The service is great the people are very nice every time I have been in. Fabulous egg rolls, delicious sweet and sour chicken and sesame chicken was all delicious and so much food that we definitely have lunch for tomorrow! People throw around 1 star reviews and 5 star reviews very easily. Im here to tell you... this truly is a 1 star restaurant. I dont have a personal vendetta against the staff, or the restaraunt itself. Just sharing that this is the worst Chinese food ive ever had in my entire life. Im 32 years old, had much hangover chinese food to craving a good chinese meal. This restaurants quality falls FAR below these criteria. The service is absolutely horendous and they have a complete disregard for your time, even worse - the meal i had from this place was fricking absolutely garbage... the meat has a super strange taste to it no matter the type, the breading is just so out of wack, the rice was like rice krispies, and even the sauce they used for our OJ chicken and Beef. They just had this weird a$$ smell. You can tell from the food they cut many corners and dont have any passion in what they do.... guys, avoid this place. I would never ever send my family here. And if you are the owners reading this, go to a 5 star chinese restaurant and compare how bad your food is to their good food... there is a much better place down the street... go to first wok just down the street instead! read more

Have been going to this restaurant for a few years. Our last order from there will be our last. Fried rice was basically steamed rice with some stuff thrown in. They changed the dipping sauce for the steamed dumplings to a spicy sauce that competes with the dumplings. The sweet and sour sauce was just a container of sauce, no pineapple, no green peppers. Crab Rangoon was not crisp and hard to chew. A very disappointing meal. There are too many other oriental restaurants to choose from. Don't bother paying for this stuff. read more

The food is NOT good. Egg foo young was very greasy. Old oil does this. Fried rice had nothing in it. It was just brown rice and if you order Small order you get small rice, if you order a large order of food you still get a small rice. Not to say the person taking the order did not speak English or understand English which caused many mistakes. As far as Chinese goes, I would still probably recommend finding a different place. As far as Thai food goes, I would never go back here again. Pathetic and slow. Placed an order, and was told it would take an half hour. Arrive an half hour later for my food, and get told it will be right up. Wait five minutes, nothing. Wait 10 minutes, nothing. 15, 20, 25, 30 minutes nothing. Finally, 35 minutes later, the food is ready. No apology, no even acknowledgement of the slow service. Just food and out. Good food, long wait on Valentines day. I frequent this place regularly. The food is always pretty good and the value is excellent. I decided to place an order on Valentines day and the girl that normally takes the orders and packs them was not there. The place was filled with people and the phone rang off the hook. I think they were overwhelmed with orders. They got me my order about 1 hour late. Got home and the food was ok. Not their normal product. They did make a mistake on my order as well. 5 Stars for the Potstickers - the best I've had, we ordered them steamed, there are 12 to an order, incredibly fresh and light with the right mix of dumpling/meat. The pork fried rice was okay, not too much pork in it but it passes, Mongolian beef was hot and fresh with good flavor. We ordered via a delivery service. The food was warm and fresh but unfortunately had no flavor except for the General Tso's chicken which was too spicy and hot in a mouth forward and not good way. It overwhelmed what seemed to be well cooked fresh chicken. The shrimp in lobster sauce had lovely well cooked shrimp but they were floating in a pale, gelatinous bland sauce with slivers of imitation crab and what seemed to be blebs of cooked egg whites. There was almost no flavor and no color aside from the pink streaks on the shrimp and the red rings around the imitation crab slivers. Served on white rice, it was almost depressingly void of color. The egg rolls were crispy but with pale and tasteless fillings. The vegetable lo mein was also without flavor. Worse yet, the packets of spicy mustard and sweet and sour sauce were absolutely horrible - gelatinous gobs of fake weird flavor. It would take very little to take this food to the next level, as in not great but with some flavor and color. Salt, pepper, a few shakes of garlic salt, spices and some green onions would have been welcome improvements to our dishes. The heat on the chicken was too in your face and not the kind of developing heat one likes to experience in a spicy. The chicken itself was well cooked but there was no underlying flavor other than just heat. Finally, upgrade the sauce packets! We've never experienced utterly disgusting sauces like this before, ever. It's actually mind blowing that some reviews are 5 star. The high reviews were what led us to order. There is no concept of flavor here to warrant anything but a barely passing review for the freshness of the food only. We keep looking for a replacement for the old Lang Lee's in Orland but nothing has even come close and this certainly didn't either. read more

The food is OK. The place feels like they have no air conditioning so it was extremely uncomfortable to eat inside. My niece found hair INSIDE her crab ragoon. I ordered shrimp fried rice and the shrimp looked dirty and raw. There were no napkins available anywhere. The shrimp in garlic sauce was the only item that was decent enough to earn this place a 2-star review. The prices are decent for the portion sizes. Overall, I'd rather eat else where. read more

We ordered party trays of orange chicken, Mongolian beef, shrimp fried rice and vegetable lo mein for a party of 15. Everything tasted great and we had plenty of leftovers. The Mongolian beef was very tender although it seemed there were more onions than beef. (Comparing this to the full pan of orange chicken) it was still plenty of food for everyone and we would order from there again. Even our guests went back for seconds! read more

I don't know what is was like before the new ownership but the food here is somewhat below average. The portions are huge, I ordered for 3 and I can't recall ever picking up a bag of food so heavy. I think they should relax on the portion size and concentrate more on the taste of the food. We ordered garlic chicken which tasted nothing like garlic and no chicken at all, which leads me to believe they got the order wrong. Kung pao chicken was ok but the chicken pieces would greatly benefit from a trim, way too large. I had better hopes for this place but I think I'll stick to what I know next time. read more

Golden Sun just came under new management and the food went from excellent to awful. Ordered egg foo young and the gravy was light brown like turkey gravy and tasted very bland. The fried rice had absolutely no flavor and the chicken tasted like it was just boiled. Unlike authentic fried rice that is a darker brown color, this fried rice was just a shade darker than white rice with little to no flavor. The egg rolls tasted like they were frozen and just heated up. Extremely disappointed. It makes cafeteria style Chinese food look appetizing. Wish I could find out where the old management went, they will be greatly missed. Stay away if you were a fan of the old Golden Sun or just a fan of authentic Chinese food. This stuff is mass produced, generic food which will leave you greatly disappointed. read more

Our office orders from here about once a week on average. Excellent service, food is good, hot and fast. We usually pick it up but hey do offer delivery if you are having a busy day. Their Pepper Steak, Mongolian Beef and Kung Pao Chicken are our fav's. Crab Rangoon is good and the egg rolls are better than most They always greet everyone with a smile when they come in.
