Great food with lots of options! Even their vegan menu has delicious variety. (Try the nachos!) service is attentive and the restaurant is decorative with unique decor. They have movie night too! Fun cocktails.

The best chilaquiles I've ever had! 10/10, simply perfection. Also, you gotta add the chorizo with it. Get that protein up! Staff was exceptional. They were attentive and super kind :) Can't wait to go back

I love this spot! I was so happy to see they renovated the space and it's even cuter than it was before. It's so creative and eclectic. We went on a Wednesday which was a movie night and we absolutely loved the movie that was playing, made dinner even more enjoyable. Now let's talk about the food, we decided to try a lot of their vegan dishes and wow! The cauliflower wings, burrito, chick'n sandwich, and desserts were all outstanding. Everything came out quickly, hot, and was so flavorful!

Loved everything about my visit here! From the very pleasant and welcoming staff to the cozy esthetic (from variety of plants to tables with couch & booth setting) this was a great overall dining experience. We enjoyed some beverages (hibiscus lemonade was a standout) and entrees and already have plans to return to try more menu offerings soon! Give them a try on your next trip to the Hampden neighborhood!

I love golden west! My friend group has several allergies (ie. eggs, dairy, bananas, gluten, vegan, vegetarian) and this is one place that we can go where everyone can find something to eat and the food actually tastes good! The staff is always polite and friendly, the vibe is cozy, and the southwestern food is delicious! If you're looking for a good sweet and savory dish, the huevos motuleños is my favorite thing to order. The candied burger is another very favorite for our group, as well as the aztec burrito.

I have always had an amazing time getting brunch at Golden West Cafe! This time, I tried the vegan chicken and waffles and it was yummy! I was surprised that the vegan chicken was a patty rather than tender like. The waffle was nice. Service was smooth and fast. We had sunny seating and it was such a relaxing vibe for brunch. I recommend recommend the ice tea, it hit the spot!

I came here a few weeks ago for the first time in like 15-20 years, and was happy to see the decor upgrades since that time. It's a nice open space with a western vibe (the golden west). Our server was nice but didn't want to interrupt us when he brought us water so we didn't know who we should talk to and ended up waiting a bit. Was a little hard to track someone down during the meal, but we eventually got what we needed. Foodwise, was happy to have lots of vegan options. Tried a few things to share. - Bowl of pumpkin soup - enough to be an entree but not exciting enough to eat as an entree. Flavor was fine. Wasn't a fan of the pumpkin seeds on top. Didn't feel like the texture made sense with the creamy soup. Would have been nice with some chunky sourdough toast or something, but wasn't an option. - Vegan French Toast - pretty good! - Vegan biscuits and gravy platter (with chick'n patty and just egg) - pretty good, a little heavy to eat a lot of. Just egg was better than expected - Black sesame latte with oat milk - not bad, a little sweet. The black sesame is a light nuttiness, not a super obvious flavor. It came with a little sesame candy/cookie thing on the side. I think the vegan food landscape is kind of limited, and it's hard to find good options. Golden West is a decent choice, which is honestly the main reason I'm giving it 4 stars (otherwise I'd probably give it 3-3.5). The menu is certainly interesting and has a lot of tasty looking food combinations but in practice I'm not sure how it would shake out. I think some of the options could be improved. I don't think I had anything with a wow factor (i.e. nothing I'd write home about), but I enjoyed my meal for the most part.

I ordered the vegan crab rangoon, vegan french toast, and lavender lemonade. Vegan crab rangoon: 4 stars... It is served as a cold temperature dip with wonton chips and sweet chili sauce. It was delicious, but I would have preferred for the dip to be hot in temperature. The wonton chips were just okay. I would have preferred a thinner chip. The sweet chili sauce was delicious. Portion is small. Vegan french toast: 5 stars... It was delicious and the portion size was large. It had fruity pebbles cereal on it with whipped cream and bananas. No syrup needed Lavender lemonade: 4 stars... very good... not too sweet and also not bitter, just right... portion size is small Service: 4.5 stars... I like that the staff works as a team to ensure all tables are serviced at all times, but it kinda lacked that 'personal being served feeling'. I think that is because so many staff members are involved making it feel like a shop where they work to get you in and out. It still was great service though because I received everything I asked for... the host was 5 stars. Parking: tight street metered parking... good luck finding a spot in front of the restaurant. I parked a couple of street blocks away near the residential part and it was free. The inside looks clean. There is a bar area when you first walk in where you can seat yourself.

    Fish tacos with fries

Art and plant-filled, the inside is very unique and interesting. They have a variety of breakfast-dinner meals with an american/mexican focus. They also have desserts including vegan options. The food is good but a little pricey for the portions. There is also a large variety of drinks including alcohol, soft drinks, café drinks, and smoothies (vegan options). The service was a little slow but the servers are super nice and have good recs.

I have enjoyed my times at Golden West Cafe for both dinner and brunch, especially because I am a vegetarian and there are SO MANY options for me here compared to most places! The ambiance is quirky and laid back- don't expect it to be all glitz and glam, it is a cafe/diner and that's what make it work! I have always had such kind servers who help explain menu options and offer advice on what's good to get. Easy to get a reservation as well!

Love love love how many vegan options they have! The atmosphere felt very trendy and the workers were ALL extremely friendly from the minute we walked in until the minute we left (all individually greeting us and telling us they were glad we came and to have a great day). I loved my vegan burrito (Christmas style--half red and half green sauce on top) it was very very filling and I ended up taking half of it home. The Boston crème donut filling was phenomenal! The chocolate on top was very liquidy so although it tasted good it left a huge mess. The donut part just tasted like bread. I do think the filling made it worth it to still get though. Bathrooms were clean and we didn't have to wait to be seated. Had to pay for parking which never makes me happy but I'd say it was worth it and we would come back here if we are ever in the area again for sure!

    Teresa B.

Great atmosphere! Jesse our server was incredibly positive and hospitable. Food was well portioned and presented. Manager was approachable, knowledgeable and professional. If ordering the zucchini pancakes ask to omit the green onions. Pancakes were cold. But EVERYTHING ELSE was wonderful.

    Kristina V.

Okay so here it is bullet point style: - service: FANTASTIC!!!!!! Super kind and knowledgable. - food: we ordered pretty basic. things and they took FOREVER. It was pretty good though. However, it was weird that there was no salt and pepper on the table. I could have used some, but we just ate. - My coffee came out cold AF. My friend's was warm but mine was cold. We were cutting it close to our next appointment so we just made it work. This was my second time going there and the second time being like mehhhhh.... However, I really love the decor and the plants.

When looking through the menu, I noticed the brisket panini had been removed. I asked the staff about it, but they weren't sure why it was no longer available. That sandwich was actually what I originally knew Llamas' Corner for after seeing it on TikTok, so I was really disappointed to see it gone. Hopefully they consider bringing it back! I also ordered two iced lattes, one with oat milk, boba, and caramel, and another with oat milk and pumpkin syrup. When I received them, both drinks had boba even though only one was supposed to. When I asked for the pumpkin drink to be remade, one of the baristas (the women in the pink long sweater) initially poured the same drink over and attempted to hand it back to me instead of making a fresh one (the bar was not busy or backed up btw.) When I asked for it to actually be remade, there seemed to be a bit of attitude. She did make a fresh drink after I specifically asked whether new espresso shots had been pulled. That part of the experience was disappointing and concerning because if someone asks for a drink to be remade due to an ingredient that wasn't ordered, simply pouring the same drink into another cup doesn't actually correct the issue. While boba wasn't an allergy concern for me personally, it made me wonder how a situation involving an actual food allergy would be handled.
