Ordered the Ultimate Hot Dog that usually comes with fries and a side. Waited nearly 2 hours to get a cold hot dog, no plastic ware and "no fries". Called the restaurant to complain and was told the menu changed months ago. Not true; I ordered the same thing about two weeks ago and it came with fries. Located in a rather decrepit looking mini-mall, easy to miss. Inside, it is nice and clean. Was filled with locals. Menu is extensive but uncomplicated, and everything from the sandwich bread to the sides were very tasty and fresh. Our soda was very watered down. We stopped for breakfast on a Tuesday morning. The table ordered crispy corn beef hash and eggs with rye toast and sausage gravy on biscuits. The hash was perfectly crispy, the rye was delicious, the biscuits were fluffy and the gravy was very flavorful. Excellent service, extremely clean and attractive. I went just a week or so ago, and I'll definitely be coming back. I love the small diner atmosphere. Our server was super sweet. I got a Belgian waffle with blueberries and whipped cream and hash browns. The waffle was amazing and not too big. The hash browns were very good, which is very important! Goldies has the best turkey club sandwich I have ever eaten. There has to be almost a pound of turkey thrown onto this incredible sandwich. I have found my new favorite in Naples! The breakfast platter was amazing and large enough for my 4 kids to share. No joke!! The peanut butter and marshmallow syrup for the pancakes was fabulous! All of the syrup options are homemade as was the ranch dressing for my salad. They all tasted great. I ordered a salad, which was nice, not the best I've ever had, but good. Can't beat Goldie's. Everything is always great. Fairly diverse menu for a diner, but it's all above average. Only thing I'm not a huge fan of is their biscuits and gravy, other than that, you can order blind and know you'll be satisfied with flavor and portion size. We came based on the raving reviews. The food was mediocre at best. We ordered the corned beef and hash which we have tried at other places and it looked like something that came out of an Alpo can. The scrambled eggs weren't even fully cooked. The only thing that was actually favorable were the Jams that came with the toast. Aside from that, it's more of an in and out. Overall the staff wasn't that friendly and because it was so packed it really felt like the theme there was quantity over quality. I decided to try this place on Saint Patrick's day based on yelp reviews and I was not disappointed. The place was busy at 1030 but I was seated very quickly. The waitresses were all friendly and welcoming and the place was spotless...a definite plus!! I had the country fried steak and eggs and it was perfectly prepared. They brought my toast out with their house jam and a peanut butter. I normally only use butter but I tried it and now I'm a BIG fan. The coffee was also delicious and my cup never ran low. I even took one to go at no charge. Finally, the atmosphere was great. The owner/manager was happily mingling with the guests and you could quickly see why this place gets great reviews. A hidden gem! This is one of those restaurants that you wish you've know about years ago. It's been in Naples for about 15 years. With its wide array of eclectic customers ranging from Local industrial park workers-retired woman's group-husband & wife- to families. My 4 year old daughter and I stopped in for breakfast. It's a welcoming place where you can sit anywhere you want. They had coloring books & lots of crayons for my daughter to enjoy. We ordered Goldie's Breakfast combo with French toast & added Homestyle potatoes. Talk about YUMMY! Then our waitress Cindy brought out the homemade jams! I'm not a jam person but I had to try them both. Let's just say... I'm glad I did! I wish my mom lives closer to come try them... So I'll plan on closer to Christmas to pick up a jar to mail her. Goldie's is by far, my favorite breakfast/lunch place. You can't beat the prices! It's usually fairly busy however, traffic moves quickly and waits are never too long. I've been a repeated customer for the past year and cannot find any other brunch restaurant that compares to Goldie's. The waitresses always move quickly and are very attentive. Don't let the strip mall fool you, this place is a delicious, old-fashioned, American-as-it-gets greasy spoon vital for for travelers like me on a budget not willing to spend 25 dollars or more per meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner during their time in Naples. Portions are large and prices are low. Plus, they serve breakfast all day. Just remember to eat lunch there early because the line will be out the door if you show up at noon sharp.
