This is a bit personal, but my sweet southern nana has suffered three strokes in the last year and is now in a long term care facility, but her homemade southern cooking is something I'll never forget the taste of... so when I saw this local diner named nana's, I knew I had to try it! From the minute you walk in the door, you're greeted with the best hospitality from the owner! Even on a Monday, the restaurant was popping with regulars. They are great about getting customers in and out quickly (without you ever feeling rushed). We waited for about 10 minutes to be seated and were promptly greeted and our order was taken shortly after! It took maybe 10 minutes for our food to come out and it was all hot! I'm not usually a fan of coffee at breakfast spots and diners, but I gave it a try and it was probably the best drip coffee I've had! Our server had asked if I planned to share the full order of biscuits and gravy and I'm so glad she asked because the 1/2 order was HUGE! We got all kinds of things: the western skillet, the western omelette, the darling breakfast (kids breakfast), 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy, hash browns, bacon, eggs, toast, a biscuit, pancakes etc. everything was incredibly delicious and will keep us full all day!! We witnessed how much the owner & staff care about their customers and could tell the majority of the restaurant were regulars! Thank you for such a great experience. Walking into Nana's, you're greeted quickly and welcomed with genuine hospitality. The staff is friendly and patient. Our server was extremely kind, helped answer our menu questions, kept our coffee full, and even stopped by for pleasant conversation. The restaurant offers fair prices, and it's clear that Nana's truly cares about its customers and good coffee! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the décor included advertisements for other local spots--which was especially helpful for me and my boyfriend since we're from out of town and on vacation. This place was chosen after a long cruise out of Miami. We decided to wait until after GatorAlley to eat so we were starved and war torn after quite the week. This place was perfection from its placement to its service. Handmade wreaths lined the walls and were on sale. Local businesses lined the tables and coffee cups. Nana's offers a variety of American/Southern comfort food. I just got the basic Three Egg Pancakes w/ Sausage Links and Hash Browns. Everything was great! Pancakes were supple, sausage was warm and tender, eggs were exactly how I wanted it. Service was great too! There was a little bit of a wait initially but we didn't mind since the establishment was busy and perhaps understaffed. For two people and we ordered the same thing, the total came out to $24. Nana's was staffed for the amount of people who were present. When you first glance at the menu it seems to be priced really well. OMG!! Where do I begin it's in a little strip mall just 20 yards from CVS . Well the food was unbelievable!! The fried chicken and mashed potato with gravy was Very Delicious!! This place is in a weird scary strip center. I was wondering if there would be anybody in the joint. There was, the place was packed! Obviously a lot of regulars and locals. Really good breakfasts and although they are also opened for lunch I bet even later most people are still eating from breakfast menu. Everything is house made and the biscuits are to die for. True southern style restaurant and terrific friendly service. And reasonably priced so you needn't go to the pawnshop next door. Simply "Nana's" for a place that has been through many changes they can be found at a location that had many changes. This was formerly double deuce saloon then the Country/ in spot, El morro. The other place. Nana's has many of the same employees from the previous location on 951. Currently a cleared lot. This location is larger with more seating than before. They are now also serving dinner and featuring live music acts and full liquor. They are available for private parties and can handle up to 200. I've had a few meals that were great and a few that were fairly good in general. Food 4 southern styled food. Ambiance 4 tables finish was chipping and scrapped on a few booths. The walls are well decorated and the tile floors looked great. Service 5 fast for breakfast. They try even when it's busy. All servers are experienced professionals from the original location. I hear they may add new staff so be patient. Location 4 this is now further from my home but it's new location is worth the drive.
