Good time to update my review to say that Pastry Chef Veronica Herrera, aka VV, and her husband…read morebought this artisan bakery after the original owners closed it in 2025 and they will be celebrating their one year anniversary on July 27 with an open house for which rsvp is needed. Check their insta and FB accounts for info. If you haven't discovered them yet, you're missing out! WHAT'S NEW: The Herreras retained the name and have kept many of the items beloved by customers of the original bakery but they have also expanded options, as one might expect from a pastry chef with 30'ish years experience. They have added additional cases to the interior and also expanded options for custom orders. All good for eats! PLAN TO BUY AND GO: Too small a space inside for seating and only enough outside for maybe a couple of seats, so this is a buy and take away format. ACCESSIBILITY: That I have posted 22 photos of this bakery since it opened in 2021 to now, it is evident that I am a fan of the offerings and also an avid supporter of mom-n-pop local businesses. But I am also a customer with disabilities and given the ADA will turn 36 years old this month, it is also an appropriate time to say why they seldom get my business anymore. It is all about the location's small parking lot with angled spaces and only one ADA compliant spot at the far end, near a hair salon, with often someone parking (illegally) in the striped access aisle. The only way for a wheelchair user to get up on to the walkway to get into the doors of the shops is through that access aisle and when it is blocked, so am I. For that reason, this good business has largely lost my business. Alas. CHECK HOURS BEFORE GOING: Usually open Thu - Sat from about 9A to 2P but sometimes closed if catering an out of town event so check before you go is a good idea.

I genuinely have no idea how they produce so many baked goods out of such a tiny space. There's really no place to sit, so I think of this more as a pick-up-and-go Italian bakery rather than a café. They also do homemade cannolis (the pistachio and chocolate are both good), although my husband still gives the edge to Tony Cannoli's at Caffè Sorrento. I heard I completely missed out on their focaccia the day I went, which apparently is a mistake I need to correct immediately. I did try the croissants though, and honestly it's hard to find a truly good croissant around here without driving all the way to Janjou Pâtisserie -- and that place absolutely ruins you for croissants forever. One other thing worth noting: check their hours before you go because they're only open Thursday-Saturday. It's also a great little spot to grab packaged cookies or treats for gifts.

One thing I oddly appreciate: no music and no giant café chaos. Also no plugs, so this isn't the place to camp for 6 hours on a laptop. But if I need a quiet spot to answer emails or get 1-1.5 hours of work done without distraction, this is actually one of my favorite places to go.

It was so dark and bitter. I did ask the barista if there was chai in my drink cause it didn't taste like chai. After we got it figured out, a new drink was made. My first one was not what I had ordered, I don't know what it was. My second round was almost perfect. The honey cinnamon chai was so good! It was sweet and spicy. I love the added cinnamon in there. It tastes like it should be cold and holiday season outside. I did pay for a shot of espresso to make it dirty which I never got. It was almost a cup of perfection. Based on other photos/reviews, it may have been an off day, but the flavor and texture in the sandwich we received were disappointing. I ordered the Reuben, and the bread-to-meat ratio was way off (photo attached). It was mostly bread with very little filling, especially for a ~$14 sandwich. The sides were okay, but the portions overall felt pretty minimal given the pricing. I always want to support local restaurants, especially ones prioritizing local ingredients, so this was a letdown. Based on this visit, I wouldn't go out of my way to return.

Love this place! Every time you go in they give you a free huge slice of fresh hot bread! The cinnamon Rolls are as big as your face, and they also have a nice selection of other sweets like scones, muffins, cookies and bars. The lemon bars and frosted sugar cookies were definitely family favorites. They make everything from scratch daily and only sell it for one full day after they bake it, so you know you are getting the freshest bread and sweets. They even grind their own wheat every morning! Been here several times since they opened and tried several different sandwiches and salads. All were huge portions, fresh, and choices I would ord er again. My favorites were the Grilled Turkey Pesto, Spicy Apple Bacon Grilled Cheese and the Sesame Chicken Salad. Of course you can't come here without buying bread! The Red White and Blueberry, Rockridge Crunch, Pineapple Coconut, and Jalapeño Cheddar are now staples at our house. Love that it's locally owned and family operated Every time we've been in, the owner has been there too. They love to talk to their customers and you can tell are passionate about what they do! Love this neighborhood bakery! HUGE cinnamon rolls, bread pudding, lemon bars, lots of sweets and over 30 different specialty breads. Always friendly staff are upbeat and enthusiastic to give you a free hot slice every time you come in. Nice selection of hot and cold sandwiches made on their fresh breads and salads too. Turkey Pesto and the Spicy Apple Bacon Grilled Cheese are my faves. Love their ice cream cookie sandwiches, Red White and Blueberry Bread, and the Asiago sourdough. We've only tried half of the different breads so it's always fun to get a free slice and try something new every visit. I haven't found one yet we don't like. They bake everything from scratch fresh every day and only sell it the day they bake it, so you know you are getting the freshest bread anywhere. And you can really taste the difference! Love this new location close to our house. Super cute and clean and same great owners as the Fairview store. They always seem to be there when we stop in and love to get to know their customers. When you first walk in the door you are overwhelmed with the amazing aromas of got fresh bread! Within moments of entering you are offered a free thick slice of your choice of their made from scratch breads. Get there between 1130-1pm when all the hot bread is coming out of the oven and your slice will be piping hot too! Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and always happy to answer questions. Over 20 different types of breads- sweet, savory, even gluten free. They only sell their bread the day they make it so you know it's fresh! They use real honey, no corn syrup or other weird ingredients. They even grind their own wheat! The Apple Pie Bread on Thursday's is the BEST!!! We love their sandwiches and salads. Breakfast sandwiches are always spot on with real eggs and lots of bacon! Try the Tuscan Chicken or California Cobb. I like that they use real avocado and thick bacon! Lots of treats too. Lemon Bars and Bread Pudding are both out of this world good! And the Cinnamon Rolls are huge, soft, and just plain awesome. read more

I absolutely love this bakery. The environment is amazing and unique and the employees are always friendly and kind. You really get the feeling that you are taken care of as an individual instead of just a number. The only thing that tops the costumer service is the bread. I love knowing that I can pick up some freshly baked bread and sweets every day. I cannot recommend this place enough, you are guaranteed a treat every time you step in the store (literally they hand out free bread every time!). read more

This place always smells like my grandmother's house. It's warm and so inviting. Their bread and rolls are unbelievable and so yummy. I recommend the red, white, and blueberry bread that they have. It's almost like a mix between bread, muffin, and a bagel. It also has cream cheese in it and it is just so yummy. I'm so bad at explaining things, but I hope you get how good this is:) read more

Beautiful decor and the menu selection is very well thought out. With the health-oriented public a switch to all the incredible flours out there ( coconut, etc ) instead of utilizing the unhealthy choice of wheat. Wheat is bad for EVERYONE. Coconut Flour is amazing. read more

Different choices for different taste buds. The line up includes bread, cookies and pastries plus dishes like sandwiches and quiche plus soft beverages and coffee service. THE DRILL: Order at the counter for to go or eat in options. In our experience nothing was marked that was for sale and one had to ask "what is...". THE VIBE & SEATING: Bright inside seating for maybe 10 total at 4 small round tables. Lots of outdoor seating at tables and chairs on big deck. LOO: There is one uni-loo in the space. PARKING: In downtown Eagle is a bear but there is a lot sort of "downhill" from the shop and parking on downtown streets. ACCESSIBILITY: If you need to avoid stairs at entry, you'll need to find street parking on Aiken and enter from the sidewalk. (See photo) The path of travel inside at the counter is ample for wheelchair users. I couldn't tell if the bases of the round tables would allow wheelchair users to pull up to the table. The uni-loo was not marked with access symbol and I didn't check it but given the space is new it should be ADA compliant if you're planning ahead. OTHERS: If you're looking for more sweet and savory baked options in Eagle, you might also consider Bella Biscotteria on State Street. Professional baker, broad offerings including Euro style pastries. But it lacks the locaton-location-location benefit of this shop and has no seating or table service.

There is literally no signage on what is available, how to order bread, the wait is long and slightly chaotic. I genuinely have no idea how they produce so many baked goods out of such a tiny space. There's really no place to sit, so I think of this more as a pick-up-and-go Italian bakery rather than a café. They also do homemade cannolis (the pistachio and chocolate are both good), although my husband still gives the edge to Tony Cannoli's at Caffè Sorrento. I heard I completely missed out on their focaccia the day I went, which apparently is a mistake I need to correct immediately. I did try the croissants though, and honestly it's hard to find a truly good croissant around here without driving all the way to Janjou Pâtisserie -- and that place absolutely ruins you for croissants forever. One other thing worth noting: check their hours before you go because they're only open Thursday-Saturday. It's also a great little spot to grab packaged cookies or treats for gifts.

It felt like pulling teeth to have the drive-thru employee accommodate the request, even though it has been done many times before. After some back and forth, she finally agreed. However, when I got home and opened the sandwich, it barely had any peanut butter or jelly on it, and the spread didn't even cover the entire piece of toast. Usually, the sandwich is generously and evenly spread. I can't say for certain, but because the employee seemed unhappy about accommodating the request, it left me wondering whether that may have contributed to the quality of the sandwich. Whether it was prepared by the employee or someone in the kitchen, it was noticeably different from what we normally receive. My family and I have always enjoyed coming to Kneaders, so it makes me sad to have had such a disappointing customer service experience. I hope this feedback can be shared with the team, as experiences like this make loyal customers question whether they want to return.

Service was friendly and they moved through several people fairly quickly. I ordered the new black pastrami, which as I understand has some smoke on it to top off the rich pastrami flavor. I got the large sandwich (16") knowing I would take some for another lunch. I really like the foccacia bread - good body, not sweet, and full of flavor. Yeah, a tad pricey at $32, but it ended up covering 3 meals. I was a bit too full off of how much they put in 8" for work. Small chip bags and an apple come with the meal. Good experience. I would eat there again.
