The coffee was delicious especially with the house-made nondairy milk, but what really stood out was the frosted cinnamon roll, which was almost like candy. I am not sure if this happens during the busiest moments in the shop, but they did have staff bussing the tables, and one staff member actually brought us our order (I'd been listening for my name to be called and didn't hear it). They clearly care about their image as they offer a free mug for first-time customers with an email sign-up. The drinks here are ok, but they average between $8-$10 each. I think the pricing is just much too high. You're paying for the vibes, not for a great cup of coffee. The matcha we tried was mediocre. There are so many other great places for coffee in Seattle, for just a fraction of the price. I think Storyville is preying on tourists visiting the market. They probably have to charge that much to keep the 8 employees milling about behind the counter employed. The space does have lots of seating, but it was nearly full during our early afternoon visit. Save your money, find another great local coffee spot!

The two employees working today a man and a woman came across as passive aggressive when handing out drinks, especially if someone didn't hear their drink being called or asked a question. It made the experience feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. As a local, I expect better consistency and customer care. For some reason, you get a much better experience both in service and quality at Victrola on 3rd & Pine in Capitol Hill & Pike. At this point, I don't plan on coming back to this location.

Grown at high altitudes, it's very light, smooth, and low in bitterness. The tea is steeped for you and served in a pot, and you can request multiple cups if you're sharing, which is a nice touch. Since green tea is a popular choice, here are a few extra notes. Dragonwell, typically from Hangzhou, has a nutty sweetness with subtle chestnut notes. Taichi Sprouts is milder and more grassy, but still carries a gentle sweetness. And if you're unsure what to order, Jasmine Green is always a safe bet, you can't go wrong with its classic floral aroma. Huge shoutout to Jessie for taking the time to clearly explain the different tea categories. I'll definitely be coming back, and next time I want to try their ice cream as well.
