First time getting a pedicure in my entire life and lemme tell ya, this was hands down this was the most amazing experience I've ever had! They are very meticulous, caring, and skilled at what they do. I am very ticklish and even though I was laughing really hard and embarrassed about being ticklish, they made me feel comfortable and were very professional. From the cleanliness (esp during this time of covid) to the attentiveness, I have absolutely no complains of this place. I feel so relaxed and rejuvenated, and my nails look super cute. We came in on a rainy day for two pedicures. We called ahead and made an appointment, another person stopped by and they were told to return an hour later. There were only two nail technicians which is understandable considering it's a federal holiday and rainy day. We chose our colors and opted for gel pedicures though it was more pricey. The nail technicians were quiet and friendly. They both took their time and left us satisfied with our pedicures. As soon as I walked in, I should have walked out. I was looking for a specific color and I would have preferred they tell me they just did not have that color but they insisted on finding the dupe of that color i was referring to and not understanding my request. They went as far as taking a nail polish and covering the manicure I currently had to color match... which I did not like that they did that because that just messed up the manicure I had which could have made it another few days -- and I would have been able to go somewhere else who could do what I wanted (which really was not difficult... I just wanted a basic manicure. Literally all I wanted was to update the gel manicure to account for grow out) there was a language barrier too which made the communication that much worse. The most important take away is that the guy who did my nails, sliced my finger open filing my nails, he filed them extremely unevenly to the point that I had to cut my nails off to fix the unevenness... I wasn't gonna have him fix it since he sliced my finger open in the salon.... I wasn't greeted when I first walked in, I lingered waiting for someone to greet me--it took a good 2 min which honestly is a long time considering no one was in there... Now that it has been a week, my finger is still in pain, there's a blood blister in the part where the finger that was sliced open is healing and it's extremely painful to use this hand. I've never in my life experienced anything nearly this bad especially enough to write a review. I'm not even going to post a picture of what my finger actually looks like because I don't want to scare anyone with how graphically terrifying it looks because that's not how my finger should look after a manicure Anyway. I paid for this manicure and I left a tip.... Wish I didn't do that at all because I paid to be maimed.. and I'm upset anyway. I wouldn't recommend this place if someone asked. I went for my 3rd fill today and decided to try a pedicure too. WOW! Lee did an amazing and affordable pedicure. Literally 3 massages with the Deluxe! (See pic for details). One massage with the sugar scrub, one with the lotion after hot towels and another with cream at the end that included each toe! Then I had my nail fill. Still not a single broken nail. I work with tools and wire so these nails are quality. I decided on a new color, hologram. So sparkly and filled with rainbows. Again, I had fun quality conversations. Where do I start? Well this place was open and I randomly walked in and asked for an appointment. He offered the next day which was great , my bff and I got there and they did our pedis then I waited for him to start my nails which happened 30 min after the scheduled time which I didn't have anything else for the day planned so I shrugged it off the next time I was late cause I mixed times i apologized twice and wasn't acknowledged. Then 2 weeks later I texted to schedule and appointment and was told that appt were made the day before and that I could text then. It came off a little rude but again shrugged it off. I'm in town from LA, and visiting home. My friend and I walked in hoping to be seen for gel manicure, and her for a basic pedicure. We asked the wait time, as it is Sunday morning and we did not expect to be seen right away. We arrived at about 10:50, and were told the wait time would be approximately 10 minutes. We have a look around the salon, and see everyone is currently busy and figured at least one person would be done soon, and happily wait 15-20 minutes. At this point, we see they are still in the middle of a service, or have even moved on to someone else who had also come in a pair. Around this time, a woman walks in and almost awkwardly stands near the reception desk for a moment, and no one greets her or even acknowledges her. She has a seat next to me, gives it a couple of minutes and walks out. Me too, girl. At about 11:15, a woman walks in and lets the tech closest to the door know that she has an appointment for a pedi. Turns out one of the people receiving what appeared to be a full nail service was one of the nail techs. She didn't stop getting her nails done, letting not only us wait around, but also her scheduled appointment. In that time, my friend could have definitely had her pedicure at least started, and I could have had my nails done. By 11:30 we saw no one was making any moves to wrap up a service, or update us on time, and Miss 11:15 was still waiting graciously. Good on her. I should have heeded my friend's warning, saying she waited for over an hour before giving up on her SCHEDULED appointment not long ago. I was stubborn and wanted to continue supporting a business that has recently changed ownership. The former owners are talented, caring people and I believe still work here. I grew up coming to this shop with my mom, and always remember it being such a pleasant, warm, comfortable experience. Next time, I'll reach out in advance and try to book directly with them. For the new owners, please be more transparent with your clients, and give a realistic expectation, not testing people's patience and wasting their time. I'm in town for a very short time when I'm here, and I'm truly sad that I wasted nearly an hour and threw off my whole day. Really nice employees, I go here once in awhile for a simple gel pedicure and they do a good job. Unfortunately I got a gel manicure as well last time and I think my nails were overcured because the polish is chipped and lifting, and it's barely been a week. It's also uneven around my cuticles. I will say the color I chose was pretty transparent and she had to use many coats to get it to show up, so that might be part of the reason for the lifting and chipping too. For the gel mani and pedi I paid $86 plus $20 tip so $106 total i think the price is fair, i got a foot soak and foot rub with my pedicure, but I'm a bit disappointed I have to remove the manicure after one week so I removed a star. read more

I think I just found my nail salon in SB. I walked in and they were able to accommodate me for a basic mani and the deluxe pedi. Kim and Lee helped me today and they were both very meticulous with the cuticle care and took their time which I appreciate. I've been to plenty of salons in town that they want to just get you in and out but not here. Sure the place could use a facelift and their colors could be a bit more versatile, but I rather deal with these little pitfalls than to go someplace that don't care about doing a good job. read more

This place is located in a small deserted shopping complex. I got SNS dip powder. They don't have a great selection of dip powder colors, but I found one that I like. I originally scheduled my appointment for two full sets for 9:30 am. When we showed up at 9:25, there was only one worker and she didn't do full sets. Around 9:50, one other worker showed up to do one of our sets. While she was doing my friends nails, I sat there and eventually left to run some errands. When I came back, another woman came in and she was able to start my nails at 10:30. We didn't leave until 11:45. ANTHONY. has been doing nails for 10 or 15 years....he knows what he is doing and he does it well. i have tried many other places (goleta and santa barbara, downtown included) and anthony is hands down my favorite. his acrylic sets are beautiful, last me nearly a month without lifting or chipping, and the airbrush designs are SO cool. i love to do crazy things with my nails and anthony is always able to pull it off for me and i can't tell you how many people have asked me who does my nails. their prices are cheap, especially in comparison to downtown santa barbara. Just to clarify, this is the nail salon by Kmart. I am VERY particular with my mani/ pedis when it comes to cleanliness, precision, and design technique. As an LA native, I expect the technicalities of a quality salon - cleanliness, professionalism, and friendly staff. As a frequent traveler to Asia, I expect insane design abilities for a good price. Famous Nails provides all of these in addition to making you their friend. Anthony and his wife, the owners, are amazing. They are kind, caring, and do an outstanding job for everything from a regular mani to designed gel nails. The prices are also very fair. A manicure is $13 with a small addition for designs. They redid the place maybe a year ago and have given it a much more welcoming, professional feel. They have large comfortable massage chairs and a large TV for your viewing pleasure. The bathroom is also very clean. This is the only place I will get my nails done now and highly recommend it to anyone. Also, all of my friends that I have brought now go there regularly as well. We love Famous Nails! Note: Anthony and his wife are the best. If you can, request them to do your nails as everyone else there learns from them. Run far away from this place. If I told ya what happened during our time here, you probably wouldn't believe me. First off, the place is dirty. Picture frames have spider webs with dead spiders, the floor and even their desks are not sanitary. My daughters nail tech got up and left, without saying a word. A few mins later, a woman who appeared to be the owner came in to replace him. Twenty mins later, my nail tech, stood up, walked out the building without saying a word. About ten mins goes by and I tell my daughter how bad of customer service they have. Not to mention, they don't play any music. It's either dead silent but mostly the techs speaking to each other in their language. My nail tech comes back after ten mins with lotto tickets, cash, basil, and bean sprouts in her hand. She then proceeds to hand out lotto tickets to her coworkers. Not once did she excuse herself or apologize. Her license is expired. Her license number is 265260(I'm going off memory). Expired in February. Then there's the pricing and horrible quality of both our nails. We were there for 3 1/2 hours. Please do yourself a favor and do not come here.
