So we found out after we drove all the way out here that they now have a cut off... If you're teeing off after 3:30 you can only play nine. It's such a rip off. I'm not cheap, but I need to come out later in the afternoon to get around in and normally I'm willing to play less than 18 based on the light. These guys tell me that because somebody crashed a cart that they no longer allow you to make the turn after 3:45 tee off. It's a complete rip off and they should rethink this. read more

The course is well-kept. The design is thoughtful and holes are strategic, gorgeous and enjoyable. One of the most beautiful golf courses I've played. The attention to detail is everywhere, and each hole delivers its own challenge. Bag drop with an attendant make arrival a breeze. Instead of a basket of range balls they switched to an open range with balls being restocked constantly. Large practice greens and chipping areas. The pace of play was fairly slow and no marshall was in sight as promised, but we finished our round in 4:20 which is on par for their course. Should've been around 4:00 though. Greens are pretty challenging and they'll test your speed skills. The snack bar was way too overpriced given how much green fees were, and was pretty average. Nonetheless, will return. read more

My family (party of seven) went to GCBD for this year's Easter brunch, and from making the reservation through to taking family pictures just outside the front entry, the experience was absolutely phenomenal! Making our reservation was extremely easy unlike several other places we contacted. We arrived a few minutes early because my mom is in a wheelchair, and they sat us in a great location to accommodate her situation. The manager and serving staff were so nice and consistent with drinks, helping with my mom, clearing dishes, ect. And the food selection was incredible. My wife and I had gone to Eddie Merlots last year, and this buffet absolutely blew theirs out of the water. Every single item was freas and jyst how it was supposed to be, from the basics breakfast food (scrambled eggs, eggs benedict, sausage, bacon (crispy), waffles, country potatoes, etc.) To the prime meats (carved NY strip steaks, leg of lamb, chicken, etc.), seafood (oysters on the half shell, steamed muscles, clams, shrimp cocktail, two or three different cockes salmon, etc, several salads, pastries, fresh fruits, and deserts! My first round of golf in Colorado, and it was at this gem!! Loved every aspect of the course, clubhouse, practice area, GPS on the carts, except........the Marshall. Who was either having a bad day, or was just looking for confrontation. While I said good morning, he had some choice words for the other members of our group not parking on the cart path, that he was blocking. ‍‍ There were two foursomes holding us up, but moved along after the Marshall passing. Don't let that keep you from having an amazing round of golf. Pricey, but it was worth it to me. The drink cart ladies, snack bar personnel, bag drop boys, and check in gentleman, we're all amazing and top notch. I will be back, if we ever get back to Denver. Go Chiefs!!!! read more

I always look forward to going to Bear Dance. As soon as you arrive you are greeted by someone to help you navigate where you want to go. Even though it is a public course, they always manage to make you feel like you are a member of a fantastic private club. It is always easy to get a cocktail and the food at the club is top notch! We often go there just to eat dinner. The golf course is very playable. Most holes have ample landing areas for tee shots and you rarely get bad bounces into trouble areas when you hit good shots. In other words, you are rewarded for playing good golf at Bear Dance. read more

The golf course is great to play with a few exceptions. Almost all the tee boxes need to be redone. They are not level and you can't find a good spot to hit from. The Practice green is ridiculously slanted and is nothing like the greens on the course. It needs to be completely torn up and redesigned. It's not worth the $139 green fee. read more

Did not play golf, just ate at the restaurant this week. Beautiful views! We started with the appetizer of shishito peppers and brussel sprouts with a chipotle mayo. Delicious! We both ordered a burger, I had the Swiss Mushroom Burger and the husband had New Mexico Burger. Both good. They don't have a wine list which I thought was strange, and they also do not show one online. I think that would help booze sales. The service was really good. We went here for my birthday with dear friends. We sat in the bar so we could keep an eye on the Thursday Night Football game. There was a nice beer list and we ended up ordering a Pitcher of IPA. We started looking at the appetizer menu and everything looked so good, we just decided to order five different appetizers to share for our meal!! Everything was delicious! We especially enjoyed the tuna and chicken wings. We had filled up on apps, but there's always room for birthday cake. The waiter brought a slice of Strawberry cake with a candle. It was amazing! This course is always great and challenging. Even though it's at the end of the season, they get as many people through the course as they can, and they had aerated maybe a week or two prior to me playing the course was still in great shape. Mainly, though I want to say that the food and beverage have always been too notch there as well. I had an incredible Chicken Scallopini dish. It was perfect. I'm still talking about 2 weeks later. As a chef there is something I always think that could've been better. This was perfect. As was my lunch of Tuna Tataki. Like I said it is always top notch. read more

This is a beautiful course and was in great condition. The practice area was convenient and fully stocked with free range balls. The starter was very friendly and helpful. The pace of play was very good. Some beautiful scenery throughout the course. A little pricey for my every weekend course, so I will have to visit only occasionally. read more

So full disclosure: I've never played golf there. Or eaten at the restaurant. Or had a cocktail at the 19th hole. I have, however, had a great experience with the staff and wanted to share. We'll go back in time to last year when my boyfriend mentioned that Bear Dance was the most amazing course in Colorado and he would love to play there but couldn't really afford to do so. The seed was planted and I decided I would get him a gift card to play a round and fulfill his dream. In the meantime, he found me a used set of clubs, taught me a little on how to play, we went to Top Golf (I actually got some points!) and since I had already sort of spent my Christmas budget, Valentine's Day would the perfect time to get him a gift card. Middle of January rolls around and I called the course to get an idea of a good amount for a round of golf and maybe lunch, the man on the phone was great answering all my novice questions. I navigated to the website and easily ordered the gift. They sent it out immediately and it had some info on the course, and the amount written in lovely calligraphy. Popped that bad boy into an overly sappy card and then I just had to wait to give it to him! Then 2 weeks before Valentine's Day, he breaks up with me. Needless to say, I was not about to still give him the card - so I called up Bear Dance and (almost crying-free) explained the situation and asked if there was any way to get a refund. (I mean my extremely novice level of play, if you can even call it that, does not have any business on a course like that) The man on the phone said he would need to check and would call me back. A few hours later, they left a message that they had refunded the $150 and I could just throw the card away. So while I have never played there, or visited, the fact that the staff helped out a woman who had just been dumped like that won me over. If I ever do get a bit better at golf -or have another person who loves it - I will definitely throw money their way. My thanks goes out to them and if you are in the area, definitely stop in a play a round and grab a cocktail and lunch. read more

Lunch on the patio has a view to die for. "Peaceful" only begins to describe it. I've had many menu items at the Golf Club and all have been excellent. I continue to return and I'm never disappointed. And I don't even play golf!!! Don't be deterred that this is a golf club. When a friend came into town for a short golf weekend, I knew we had to come play here. We spent just under 140$ each but it was so very much worth it. Located just south of Castle Rock, the location was easy to get to...just off the frontage road. We booked an 8:15 am tee time and were able to park close to the clubhouse. We were warmly greeted by all staff members we encountered and made to feel like a member rather than just another golfer. The course itself was beautiful and tough. Narrow fairways and blind shots were plentiful, yet the cart's GPS allowed us to "see" what we were hitting into. The course was in great shape with gorgeous fairways and tough fast greens. The 17th hole, was one of my favorites...a short par 3 with a bubbling creek just right of the hole. We had fun, scored well, and gained a course to play more than once a year. Great course. Very challenging. Great time of year to play. Little wind, grass is still green, air is cool and fall colors are popping all around. Greens are quick and very true (although some are a bit rough this year) Driving range is great, balls included. Practice area is nice. Use the practice green to gauge your speed. DONT play the tips if you are over a 5 hdcp....youll not enjoy it and you WILL slow down play. GPS seem pretty accurate and if you are not from altitude, take into consideration the ball flys quite a bit further. If your lucky the surrounding mountains will have some snow caps. Seen fox, turkey and some small critters out here but never the bear. I heard the bear is with two cubs between 17 green and 18 tee mostly. Watch out. read more

Bear Dance is my favorite course of all I've played. I've played some of the top 100 courses in the country and this still tops all of them. The course is now about 20 years old. It has proven to be a timeless mountain course. There are a verity of holes and tee boxes which makes this a good challenge for all skill levels. This is true second shot course. If you miss the green, you are looking a difficult chips. The greens are hard and fast but true. The signature hole, #6, has a bunker complex that looks like a bear paw. While it seems cheesy, its really cool. Its a drivable par 4 but if you end up in a paw pad, it gets tough in a hurry. The lounge is small but there is always a seat. Plenty of outdoor seating as well. Food is golf course fare but excellent. In my dozens of times visiting Bear Dance over the years, I have not had one bad experience. I love Bear Dance. read more

First time at this course. Everything was great from the greeting at the bag drop to welcome and information provided during check-in. Practice area was very nice. The practice putting green was excellent and provided a little more frightening speed and break than on the course. But make no mistake the greens are a serious challenge. Course conditions were superb. Luckily we were paired with a couple of locals. Ken provided a lot of local knowledge, and saved me several strokes. This was recommended by many neighbors in the area. We went for a special occasion celebration and were surprised to find that it was barely a glorified bar. So the atmosphere was not upscale. With a totally packed house the noise level would require shouting at each other at the table. For the food, I ordered steak and fries and the steak was barely edible. It seemed quite old, with a rotting cheese taste. Definitely not deserving of the ranking it holds. read more
