I did order the Chicken Fried Steak Lunch special and found it quite good. For this type of location. Loved the French fries as well. A bit salty but well balanced. There being about 20-25 people there, how was our meal prepared with no culinary attention to detail? For example: my wife ordered the chicken fried steak, mash potatoes and salad. Her steak was so "bland and lukewarm" that it literally removed all sensitivity of taste from our tongues..., no seasoning or flavor whatsoever. On our drive home that's all me talked about. Mash potatoes were likewise "lukewarm and bland"..., then factor in the gravy..., exactly the same. Her plate obviously sat at the window too long or perhaps her food was simply "sitting there" waiting for us to order it. Her salad: there was nothing "green" about it, it was "all the white stalks" of the lettuce, literally 4 olives, a sprinkle of shredded cheese, 3 half slices of tomatoes with "gigantic croutons (that was interesting)". My "blackened chicken salad"..., salad was the same as my wife's; double-dang because I love salads and being type 2 diabetic and having high blood pressure this would have been the perfect meal for me. HOWEVER; the chicken was the worst ever because it was saltier-than-a-1820's-sailor..., horrible..., and drier than a camel's hump in the Sahari. I never knew that a chicken breast could be abused like that on purpose. So, how does such a nice looking place sell someone "absolutely ridiculously horrible food".

Listen up, this place is new (opened late Nov 2024) so they are still working out the kinks. I say this because there are two reviews on this place that mention negative things. IMHO I think thus far they are excelling and will only get better and better. We need to give them grace as they learn and grow. ***So please READ MY REVIEW and ignore the 1 stars.*** The food we ordered was tasty, affordable and came out quickly. Drinks for the entire table were on point. Shout out to Chet who will gladly curate a drink for you if you are not sure what you want. Oh and did I mention 237 is located inside? 237 is Speakeasy located inside of Soggy Dog (at this time 237 is open Thur-Sat nights). 237 has it's own vibe and drink menu. PRO TIP: Enter Soggy Dog through either of the double set of metal doors. Yes you are at the right place. I will take pictures of the entrance on my next visit.

The chips and queso were an appetizer but came out with the rest of the food. Queso was extremely burned so I asked for it to be removed from the ticket; instead, they replaced it with spicy broccoli cheese soup. Okra and fries were not cooked all the way through; seems hard to mess up food service frozen food, but here we are. The hot chicken sandwich was made with chicken so tough I couldn't cut it. The hot sauce was nice, the salsa was decent. My giant mug of beer was flat but at least it was cold. Overall: poor food, slow service. Was hoping for better.

We started out with the mozzarella logs and the devil's on horseback. 10 out of 10 on both. For the entrées, we ordered the boom boom shrimp tacos and the ribeye sliders. I couldn't believe how tender the ribeye was in the sliders. They were so good. For dessert we had the mini beignets and the bread pudding. I think the beignets were better than the ones from New Orleans. They were so soft and warm. Yum! My Husband compared the bread pudding to the one at the Dave Ramsey restaurant in Las Vegas. The ambience was cool of course. It's a sports bar so you hear everyone's excitement from football. Pretty cool location if you ask me. I highly recommend if you're in the area or live in Lubbock.

From the moment we sat down, she made the entire experience amazing. Alyssa was friendly, upbeat, and genuinely attentive without ever being overbearing. She knew the menu inside and out, offered fantastic recommendations and made sure everything came out fresh and perfectly timed. Even when the restaurant got busy, Alyssa kept her cool with a smile and checked in often to make sure we had everything we needed. You can tell she truly cares about her guests -- it's rare to find that kind of energy and professionalism all in one. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and thanks to Alyssa's outstanding service, it turned a casual night out into a memorable experience.

It's blue (it does say welcome) but it looks like it is not a public entrance. We figured it out though. The indoor restaurant was very smoky so we sat on the patio, which was nice. Service was pretty good-we had to ask for a few things throughout our meal (a plate...) but everything was delivered quickly. The food was pretty good. My husband had a Philly Grinder with onion rings and both were very good. My daughter had a steak finger basket which I forgot to ask how she liked it however and ate it all so it must have been good. I had the BBQ chicken pizza. Now, the menu does say there would be jalapeños on it but holy cow-I think there were several sliced fresh jalapeños with seeds on the pizza. It was just too much-really not edible the way it was. After taking most off, the pizza was still very spicy. Otherwise, it was really good pizza-great crust, sauce, etc. and I would have enjoyed it. I just thought it was completely overpowering. Overall it was a decent experience and I would probably go there again if the weather was nice and could sit outside again. I'd even order the pizza, but no jalapeños!

When we walked in on May 19, 2026, the place was not too busy at around noon. Right away I noticed low lighting. Cool alternative, rock, and old R&B music playing in the background. A full bar. Pinball machines for tables. Lots of nostalgia in this place! Restroom was mostly clean. The food was okay. I wish there was a bit more flavor to everything. My daughter agreed. + The Damned Dog ($11) "All beef frank, house beef chili, cheddar, diced onions, and jalapeno crispies." This was good but the frank and chili needed more flavor. I opted for a side of house-made vegan potato salad (additional $1.50) instead of potato chips which really good. + The Sourpuss ($12) "Bratwurst, sauerkraut, pickle slice, crushed salt & vinegar chips, and queso fresco." My daughter enjoyed this with ketchup and mustard added and a side of smoked gouda mac. That mac was very tasty. We also noticed how crisp and spicy our Sprite and Dr. Peppers were. Loved that. I'd definitely go back again for a drink and maybe a sandwich next time. Ample lot parking.
