Gently approached. Answered our questions and then got us on the range to test out our potential clubs. Lance gave me some education tips. We took it to get inspected and a ball joint was loose but with a brand new tire only on that side. Headlight was out and they didn't tell me (ironic for them also being a car lighting service!) Infotainment (touchscreen) system didn't work. The muffler, tires and battery needed to be replaced. All of this on a 2016 Outback with 200k miles originally listed for $8k when they first got it 140 days ago, but was listed for $6k when i got it for an inspection ur. After learning about the needed repairs they were unwilling to bring the price down at all. After being confronted the salesman was dismissive. Overall very shady and untrustworthy.

This is because I still have to ding the place two stars for two things. NO ESTIMATE The Beeline confirmation email promises an evaluation and an estimate before work begins. I never received an estimate. This whole dispute began as a billing dispute after Lectric eBikes refused to pay for all the warranty work and additional work was done. Had I been given an estimate listing additional jobs I could have objected then and a lot of confusion could have been avoided. Had I been given an estimate listing work Lectric was refusing to pay for I could have complained to Lectric. Instead, I was told how much Lectric would pay but not for which items or why they refused. This effectively leaves consumers in my position unable to constructively contest the bill. For promising estimates and not providing them I am subtracting one star. CALLING THE POLICE When I refused to pay a padded bill that Lectric had already agreed to pay, this shop tried to hold my bike hostage in order to get the money. That is highly inappropriate when dealing with manufacturers that you have a service partnership with. Everything Lectric and Beeline sends out in reference to shops like this uses the phrase "service partner" or similar language. Eventually I just took my bike and left only to get a call from the police later saying that this seems like a civil matter but that I will get arrested for trespassing if I ever go back to Nomad Cycles. The police blotter recorded the call as a theft complaint. That might have been appropriate had I not taken my own bike and the bill in question not included a combination of unauthorized charges and charges their service partner agreed to pay for in advance. Plus, I called Lectric the following Monday and tried my best to get them to pay Nomad Cycles what they claim to be owed. Thieves typically don't walk into a shop in broad daylight with no disguise, let the staff know exactly who they are, and try their best to get any debts owed of any paid by those that actually owe the money. For calling the cops I am docking this shop one star. CHANGE OF HEART I received a full refund of over $1,000 from Lectric eBikes because I took the bike from the shop and rode it just 4 times afterwards. That was all it took to suffer catastrophic drive train failure. Despite that, the bike still works in throttle only mode with no chain. It turns out that such failures are common when combining a new derailleur with an old worn out chain but nobody ever told me that. Unfortunately, the next time out the folding latch on the frame opened up on me 4 times. This was enough for Lectric to declare the bike unsafe to ride and offer the refund. I also think there may have been a misunderstanding with the owner of Nomad Cycles. When taking a glimpse at his internal notes it looked like he was accusing me of abusing the bike. That could explain why Lectric wasn't paying for all of it or why he wouldn't explain himself, but absent further proof those are just theories. What I do know is that Lectric promotes the bike for uses it wasn't built for which could make a reasonable professional in his position think that the customer had abused the bike. Lectric promotes its XP 3.0 model as an all terrain vehicle. Intended use is legally defined not just by product descriptions and what the bike's design is capable of. It is defined by what the manufacturer says it is for and how they promote it. For instance, Lectric shows XP 3.0 users riding offroad on sandy saltwater beaches, on gravel, in the desert, and across grass fields. That establishes that the bike is promoted for general offroad use. Then you have the blog post announcing the XP 3.0 which specifically says "tough terrain? no problem!" before saying that they're now adding tire sealant just in case. This makes reasonable consumers think that the bike is built not just for tough terrain but terrain so tough you need sealant just to avoid flat tires which makes the intended use of the Lectric XP 3.0 all terrain.

But luckily they were able to get me in a few days later! I brought my bike in and after my initial encounter with the employees, I knew they were going to get a 3-4 star review. I had never been to Nomad, or literally any bike shop ever! And they were not very warm and welcoming. In fact, the mechanic who was working on a woman's bike seat when I walked in seemed very frustrated and not very nice at all. And I remember immediately thinking "it's 12:15 PM, they opened 15 minutes ago, how can this guy be so irritable so early in the day!?" Anyways I left my bike there and before leaving asked how long it would take. They said a few days. It ended up taking a week. However, when I picked the bike up, the two people working that day were super friendly and my bike is working great so they get a five stars! I'm hoping I just caught them at a bad moment the day they made their first impression on me.

I did Spencer Pelham's Clack Attack class as well as his Intro to Fly Fishing, finishing with a float on the Clackamas River today. Spencer is incredibly skilled, yet humble and patient. He teaches in a way that makes you feel comfortable and supported while still learning a ton. The way he tied the content of both classes together on the river made it all come alive. I should mention--I'm a 52-year-old woman and a recent breast cancer survivor. Getting back out there and doing something like this was emotional, powerful, and healing. Being on the water today felt like reconnecting with an old friend. We caught several beautiful trout and saw osprey, beavers, bald eagles, and more. It was a magical day. Spencer went above and beyond, not just today but every time I've spoken with him. And the whole NWFFO crew? They've created something really rare. From my second visit on, it was "Hey Jen, how are ya?"--the kind of warm, small-town vibe that's hard to find anywhere, let alone in Portland. If you're new to fly fishing or looking to level up, sign up for these classes. Don't be intimidated if you take Clack Attack first--it may seem over your head at first, but it will all click, especially after taking the Intro class. Keeping pace the entire round and guess how many times the PA/Marshall came to talk to us? THREE TIMES! 1 time is plenty, 2 times is fine, 3 is ridiculous. And the Marshall that stopped us the third time literally wouldn't stop talking for like five minutes about how we need to pick it up and now I'm thinking to myself is if you want us to play faster maybe you should stop talking to us.. by that time we group behind us was not waiting, and they hadn't been waiting for the majority of the round except the first three holes when we were getting our momentum going for the start of the round. And this lady comes up to us on hole 14 and tries to tell us that we're 30 minutes behind haha, laughable. You were perfectly on pace and she said " well it says here on the sheet that technically you guys are 30 minutes behind", I just laughed and told her we're good and she wouldn't stop yapping. I almost called the golf shop right then to complain but I resisted.

They have carts, a driving range and a fairly nice club house as well. Overall definitely enjoy golfing here, the ground are pretty and the course a nice challenge!
