Had the perception, I should support a small business owner. So despite the negative reviews I went to ParWest Golf FIRST (w/$1500. to spend). There were three employees in the building on a Saturday ( 3 persons when we walked in, then down to one other, then no one but us). We knew this because we became the only patrons in the shop. We spoke loud enough for them to her us, we asked to hit a few balls, we asked questions about what was available - we gave them so many opportunities to ignite and build a sale but instead, we walked in and found the front counter employee on their phone, then they were fixed on some game on tv. Even after we tried a club out they didn't even try to engage us. We left and went to Galaxy Golf with the perception of it being corporate. HUGELY mistaken. Lance gave us some time on the floor. Gently approached. Answered our questions and then got us on the range to test out our potential clubs. Lance gave me some education tips. When I arrived with my irons, the guy already seemed not interested because my irons were already new and realized he wasn't going to be making a sale by me buying a full new set. He half assed fitted me and at the end he said the only way I could get new shafts is if I traded in my T300s and bought a completely new set. SERIOUSLY?!? Went into this store in good faith. Wanted to keep my money in my neighborhood. I was treated so poorly by the owner and his staff. When I filed a Google review, I was attacked viciously. I couldn't believe that anyone in business, with a goal to be successful could be so petty and malicious. I had an awesome experience at PWG. I drove all the way from Beaverton and it was well worth it. I came in needing guidance and advice on my current set up and insight on a possible upgrade to my set. Tony checked my current set and instead of trying to sell me new items I didn't need, he was honest and recommended I stick with what I have for now. This has become my go-to golf shop. Historically I'd buy my golf clubs, apparel, accessories at my club's pro shop but I lived near Par West so I figured I'd try them. Great customer service in club purchases, I even rented the simulator for a few hours and had a few beers. I recently purchased a Cobra Rad Speed driver and unfortunately broke it. The guys were able to accommodate my situation by getting me a new driver at all cost mostly to them. No questions or hassle. They could've easily told me to take a walk but chose the customer first. Went in today with my buddy. We both got a level of knowledge from staff that we would not get before buying a product online and got hands on too. Very low pressure setting. Was helped by Royce on this occasion but others offered comments too. One thing I often encounter because I tend to wear old worn clothes most of the time is a pre-judgment that I am not going to buy anything. I tend to walk when that happens. You can't tell who has money ready to spend by what they look like. If you help everyone the same like these guys, your business will always come out ahead. Recently went in for a triple fitting for myself and two brothers-in-law. Tony helped schedule us and Royce took care of the fittings. This was our first time going through the fitting process so we were very excited, all over the place, and unsure of what to expect, honestly. Royce was the man and everyone else in the shop were just as great. Royce took his time, answered all of our questions, and while one person was going through the fitting, the other guys were helping everyone else get ideas for clubs to try all squared away. The service was second to none, matched only by the vibe. The whole day honestly felt like we were in our backyard with hundreds of clubs and shafts at our disposal. I had a positive experience here start to finish. I came because it's locally-owned, which I found out to mean that their employees can make recommendations on anything from courses to places to eat to directions around the area. I came in toward their closing time to get my irons re-gripped before my round the next morning and they expedited the process for me, which was a huge saver for me. This was somewhat of a farce when it comes to club fitting...and essentially mislabeled on their website. What $99 gets you is the chance to use their launch monitor and swing a few of their clubs on stock. While in town for a couple of days and after reading other reviews, I went in for an iron fitting. Kyler was great. Asked what I was currently playing (didn't have my clubs with me) and what I was hoping to accomplish. I was leaning towards a new set of TaylorMade 790s or 770s. Kyler asked whether I was open to other brands and I said I was but wanted to hit the TaylorMades first. Absolutely NO PRESSURE from him in any direction. He just kept changing out heads and shafts. We cycled through TMs, Ping, Srixon (I'm already familiar with Callaway) and ended up thinking a combo set of 770s and 790s would work best.
