It was alright, we went on a busy Friday night so they may not have been able to put much effort into the drinks. The milk tea either had too much milk or the tea flavor was just too bland to be tasted. The bubbles were a bit too hard, but maybe that will get better as they get less busy. They also dont really have a system for making drinks in a logical order. You will hear numbers far higher and lower than yours while you wait around with the other people who got skipped over. read more

The brown sugar boba with milk foam was ok - it was a bit underwhelming with the flavor, and usually there is a brown sugar syrup smeared generously on the inside of the cups, but not this time. Fun hangout spot with flavorful dessert drinks that can appeal to all. I am an avid boba drinker and I have to say that this is one of my most favorite boba spots in the area. The have every type of tea you can imagine with all sorts of different toppings. My favorite topping, that you cant get anywhere else is their white pearls. Similar to the consistency of regular black honey boba, but chewier and a little sweeter. With the mixture of their flavors such as winter-melon milk tea, this place had me in love at first sip. I highly recommend this place because they have a fun environment with games, good music, and of course their yummy assortment of flavors and toppings. Definitely worth a try! One of my new favorite places for boba. Their drinks are well priced, diverse, and most importantly, really good. I went with a couple of friends after dinner on a Saturday, and the place was PACKED. We barely managed to get seats at the bar tables next to the window. I saw a couple of groups playing uno/cards, which can be found in store. I haven't had a drink at Gong Cha that I didn't like. The drinks aren't overly sweet - I don't have to adjust the sweetness much compared to other places. They have a good selection and recently added bubble waffle to their menu! My favorites are wintermelon oolong tea and wintermelon milk tea. Both have great tea flavor! I also love that they have a reward program, however it requires you to download an app - totally worth it if you're a regular customer. The only con here is the parking. It sucks. I made sure I visited here on soft opening weekend advertised on FB to get the special. I've always been a fan since my NYC visits. I'm so glad they opened a location near home. Their teas rival KFT and other bubble tea shops. As other popular places, you can adjust sweetness and ice levels. My favorite teas are the foam teas and flavored teas like passion fruit. I think they get 4 stars because I feel that the tea flavors can be bit more bold and I hope they add an option for bolder tea flavors in the future. Definitely one of my favorite boba places around this area! I kept it simple and got milk tea with black pearls, 70% sweetness, and it was perfect for me. The tea was great, it had a nice taste compared to some other boba places. The tapioca pearls were amazing -- It wasn't overcooked nor was it undercooked. I'm a fan of milktea. Specially with Gongcha. Why a vote for ??? For more than 20 times order and even more. But they're still deficiency haft of it. Sometimes they're charge for topping but forgot to put it on. Some is forgot charge (i didn't checked). They're very nice to want added free when I told them (definitely there fault). But if some customer don't understand they will think I made up stories to get free toppings. The shop are new. Hope u guys can have time to training more for employees carefully. After reading the reviews, I tried the dirty brown sugar milk tea w/ pearls (normal boba), and I really liked it! I ordered through Yelp ahead of time, and it was ready on time. They did give me 70% ice when I asked for 30% though. I got 50% sugar and it was just right. Make sure to shake and stir it well before drinking! I would definitely get this again, and I also want to try some of their other drinks. read more

Gong Cha is exactly what this area needed. I love my KFT but sometimes I want more variety and Gong Cha brings just that with DELICIOUS unique toppings (white pearls, basil seeds, ai-yu jelly omgah) that make getting fruit based teas even more fun. Normally, I always go for milk teas because I don't think regular boba pairs well with fruit teas... and a fruit tea just seems, well, a waste of $4-5 on its own (like go home and brew some?). But after trying the white pearls and basil seeds (oh my god the TEXTURE of these things are so fun...basil seeds taste like sparkles; white pearls are crunchy like those clear Korean seaweed ban-chan) and the ai-yu jelly (tastes like a tea/slightly herbal flavored jelly)...I finally had a reason to get fruit based teas. All of these alternative toppings pair so beautifully with fruity/floral non-milk fresh teas and you already know Gong-Cha brews the tea fresh. Go ahead, venture out of your taro milk tea comfort zone and give these new toppings/pairings a try!! P.S. If you're curious about the purple potato tea like I was, a word of advice is to get it at least 70% sweet because it's a starchy flavor that doesn't taste very sweet even at original sugar. Nutty taste with a smooth finish. My friends got green tea, taro, and classic. They liked their drinks as well. Space is lovely. Not too big not too small. Outlets everywhere. I'm always up for trying new bubble tea places in the area. This one is located in a small shopping center with very hard to find parking spaces. It's very, very cute inside, and has nice lounge seating for the kids. It's the same menu as other places in the area, but I find it to be just OK. Nothing to rave about. I'm not even sure if I can say the drinks are made fresh either. Looked like they have some powder drinks available. Also, when I say 25% sugar I mean 25%, not 75%! I think that was the big turnoff for me, was the sugar level was too high, and the prices were a bit crazy! Almost $9 for 2 medium-sized drinks????? When I lived in Seoul, Gong Cha was one of my favorite bubble tea chains. I was so sad the day I had my last Gong Cha before we left knowing that I most likely would never have it again as most bubble tea places I've been to in America are disappointing. Then to my surprise, this one opens up and it's not a pain to get to! It tastes just like the one in Korea and I love it. I've brought many friends here who have agreed that this is the best bubble tea they've ever had. The pearls are always perfectly cooked with amazing flavor. One of the many bubble tea chains to crawl itself into the Annandale area, Gong Cha sits in a small corner of a parking lot extended off of the Chicken Pollo sign I've always passed and never gone to. The place itself isn't the biggest, but if you want to just grab a milk tea then this is the place to go to. I will say I don't particularly enjoy the fruit beverages or normal teas, but milk tea (brown sugar in particular) here is spectacular. They also handle group orders pretty well - I came here with around 10 orders and told them to take their time since I came without calling in before. They still got them out pretty quickly. That being said, when placing the orders they said they didn't have a lot of the ingredients for some of them, particularly chocolate-based drinks and toppings. Still, the brown sugar milk tea here is good enough to compensate! (I'd personally recommend less sugar since it's still just as flavorful with less sugar) read more

Like all the other bubble tea places you can add your own toppings and customize your drink like less ice or adjust the sugar/sweetness level. The thing I like about Gong Cha is I feel like you can taste the tea flavor come through more in their drinks which makes a difference. First time at Gong Cha. My drink was just ok, a little sweeter than I'd have wanted, but the staff didn't ask if I wanted 100% sugar, or more or less, they just assumed. There were about 5-6 workers there at 12:15pm, (they open at 12noon), and I was the only customer in the store at the time; so they were not busy at all. They did not greet me, did not say thank you etc., so they could use a bit more training in that area.
