I'm no Korean food expert but this place is definitely worth it. We had the Kimchi pancakes and the BBQ chicken & beef. You have the option of them preparing the BBQ at your table or in the kitchen. We opted for at the table. You get a salad and a tray of kimchi, pickled cucumbers and radishes. All the food was delicious and just filling enough. They have a liquor license, so you can order any alcohol.

Gong Cha -- absolutely delicious boba tea! I ended up ordering their marble mango drink with popping boba. I highly recommend this. It's a mango syrup in a milk-like base. 70% sugar with no ice. There's plenty of parking in the area, and a popular Korean bbq within walking distance. When we ordered, there was no line, plenty of couch seating, and tons of games! It was a quiet atmosphere and great date night stop for a Saturday night! Pretty decor. Delicious drink. Great vibes. And games. What more could you want?

The staff made our drinks really quickly and they were able to make it when they were about to close. I got the peach lychee with aiyu jelly which is such a refreshing and sweet drink for a cool down for the summer. There isn't a lot of seating since most people come here to wait for kogiya. They do have board games if you want to come here and play with your friends or date. There's also plenty of parking too

I must admit, I've never been to a boba place where a machine can take my order and the tea is good to go in under 10 minutes. It was effortless and it was nice just kinda hanging out while we waited. Really cool little spot, the games were a great touch

One of my favorite bubble tea places in the area! The tea flavor is strong, the sweetness adjustments are just right, and the variety is vast. In case you get overwhelmed, the friendly staff are always willing to answer questions and if available, they'll let you sample a flavor. My personal favorites are green tea with strawberry milk foam, strawberry milk green tea, earl grey milk tea, passionfruit sparkling, & the classic black milk tea with grass jelly. You can adjust the sugar and ice levels, and 30% sweetness is just right for me. They also offer a rewards program - we always end up getting a free drink every now and then, keeps us coming back for more! For the quality, the prices are pretty good. Additionally, their bubble waffles are delicious! Somehow they manage to make it crispy yet the inside is soft & chewy. The matcha bubble waffle flavor had a nice subtle flavor, not too sweet, but not plain - I like to break off each bubble piece and pop them like grapes lol! And if you're feeling extra sweet, you can add ice cream. They have plenty of seating and a few games available. Definitely give this place a try if you're in the boba mood!

After running an errand in the area, I decided I needed a treat. Wow, am I glad I checked out Gong Cha! Super delicious bubble teas and friendly service, even during the pandemic. This business made my day! The Grapefruit Ai-Yu with white pearl is one of the best drinks I've ever tasted. I had never tasted Ai-Yu jelly, so having that in my drink was a nice culinary adventure. Also, in the Arlington area, I frequently looked for grapefruit bubble tea but rarely could get it; finding it in Annandale was a nice surprise. I definitely will come back and order it again. The egg waffle was another new experience. I loved the super eggy taste and this plus bubble tea constituted my lunch. In search of new flavors, I ordered not one but two bubble teas on this outing. The Earl Grey milk tea with grass jelly was lovely with a strong tea flavor. Thumbs-up for the grass jelly the person behind the counter recommended. Even though the grapefruit Ai-Yu tea was by far the best thing I tried, everything here was great. Thank you, Gong Cha!

Honestly, I didn't like this place when I first got it but I think it gets progressively better the more I try it, but maybe that could be due to acquired taste buds? Here is basically the tale of Goldilocks and the Three Bobas. The first time I got the oolong milk tea and I thought it was very watered down and didn't taste like milk tea. The second time I got the black milk tea and it was just okay. I feel like if I decrease the sugar level, then the taste of tea with the milk also diminishes, which doesn't really make sense to me because I typically get less sugar at other places and the essential milk tea flavor remains the same. The third time, I got the dirty milk tea, which is basically a classic milk tea with brown sugar and this is my favorite of all time! I feel like their milk teas lack flavor that the brown sugar makes up for. I would recommend only get 50% sugar or less since brown sugar is typically really sweet and remember to mix up your drink really well or else you'll just get a straw full of brown sugar. The dirty milk tea was just riiiight, I would recommend their "Dirty" series to others!

If it was a wrestler, it would be STRONG CHA If it was a sexy outfit, it would be a THONG CHA And when it covered up, it would put on a SARONG CHA And if you wanna see someone in heels, go to GONG CHA If you wanna bring it, it's already been BRONG CHA My gf loves the tea more than she loves my DONG CHA And by the way my gf says my dong's really LONG CHA But she'll only stay with me if I take her to GONG CHA What to get: Dirty Brown Sugar Milk Tea, Strawberry Milk Tea, Regular Milk Tea, Waffle w/Boba. What not to get: Inseminated by your bf's micro-prong-cha. I was going to write this review the day this shop opened but that would have been a little "Gong Ho." My notes say - friendly, brand new, smells new, nice place, nice decor, busy, good brown sugar milk tea And if the Triads come after you outside this place, you're in front of the wrong place - that's "Gang Cha." Definitely one of the friendliest Gong Cha locations I've ever been to, and I'm very delighted to give them five stars for their perfect brown sugar milk tea and their lovely decor and their comfortable seating - and most of all the really really wonderful service and attentiveness, and this despite being busy. Also - What not to get: Caught on camera ordering only wearing a Thong Cha. So I hope that they become one of the most popular barber shops in Boca Stacks Annandale. That was supposed to say "Boba shops in Boba-stacked Annandale" but I think Barber Shops is interesting too, and whatever Boca Stacks are, I want some. Boob implants in Boca Raton maybe? And I may not have the thickest... but it's exceptionally Long Cha.

Good vibe and nice place to get some boba after a nice meal at the korean bbq shop next door. I ordered a hot drink, which boba places aren't necessarily known for, but it was really good. I'll definitely be back again.

Huge delay between placing kiosk order and the order being started
    Dan W.

Do not place orders at the kiosk! I visited yesterday and placed an order at 8:40pm. It was taking a while but I figured other people may have placed their orders online before me. After 25 minutes, I went up front and asked about how my order was coming along - and found that it hadn't even been started because no one bothered to pull it from the system! All in all, I stood around for over half an hour, waiting for someone to pour some winter melon tea. The store could have at least offered to put it on the house or throw in a free size upgrade for the trouble but they didn't bother: With a popular location, they'll never be hurting for customers even if some people leave with a poor experience.

    Jemily H.

FIVE STARS for customer service!!!!! Not only did the lady ringing me up help but she was so kind. When my 50% sweet drink was still so sweet they made no hassle and insisted to make me a new one, and let me keep the old one! The kindest people I've ever encountered. **when ordering drinks at this location make sure you inquire about the sweetness level....I cannot imagine this drink at 100% sweetness just because my 50% sweet was too sweet for me** In general, so far this place isn't my favorite overall just because they don't have the options I would like- for example non dairy milk or mini pearls. I did however love the new strawberry milk foam! It is a little costly, a medium strawberry fresh milk green tea with half pudding half strawberry jelly and strawberry milk foam cost me a little less than $7. It is nice they have customization of sugar levels and ice, but I expect that at this rate! The drink was very enjoyable made the second time (30% sweetness), I'll definitely try more of the places in the area before claiming it my new fav however. Thank you to the staff, they have an excellent staff and this will keep people coming back!!

Mango Green Tea, Purple Sweet Potato Black Milk Tea
    Tiffany H.

Gong Cha never disappoints me! I was super excited to hear that Gong Cha was going to be opening in Annandale, since I travel to Northern Virginia very frequently. I consider Gong Cha as one of the more authentic bubble tea places. My go-to drinks are Earl Grey Milk with 3 J's (comes with boba, herbal jelly, and pudding), but this drink becomes very filling with all the toppings. I didn't see the Dirty Brown Sugar Milk Tea (with Milk Form) that I usually order back at home in New Jersey. Not many places offer Purple Sweet Potato Black Milk Tea, so I was open to trying something new. I'm not sure if it was the owner who took my order, but he was very helpful with recommendations. He mentioned that the drink was not very sweet and recommended getting 100% sweetness, which was what I ordered. I thought the drink was okay. It still wasn't sweet enough for me and it tasted really starchy. He was super nice and offered to make me another drink as a replacement. I was very happy and satisfied with the Brown Sugar Milk Tea. The brown sugar just gives the milk tea a more flavorful kick and it'll probably be my go-to order. Customer Service: A+++++++++ I love the cozy environment. They have sofas and tables with board games (Connect 4, Jenga). Their interior design is very modern. You'll definitely see me here again when I come back to NOVA.

ANNANDALE, VA 04/04/19 DESSERT +The purple sweet potato latte was pretty good. -The taro milk drink tasted really bad giving off a freezer burn after taste. You know when you don't close the lid on ice cream and leave it in the freezer for too long? It develops a weird flavor by absorbing all of the smells inside of the freezer. It was just straight up nasty. I wanted to notify management, but I was already in the car driving towards I-495 to go home during rush hour. -No loyalty rewards program. -Did I mention that 1 of 2 drinks tasted like rotten freezer burned ice cream? Unfortunately, I did not have a good customer experience at this Gong Cha location. Hopefully, they work out their kinks and deliver a consistent dessert experience a few months from now. I'm going to have to wait and see.

They can be found on the parking lot where Joongmi is. We were on our way to another eatery, and we saw that there was a long line - we knew we had to stop by to check them out! Their menu is pretty straightforward - they have Chicken Shawarma and the Afghan Burger, and various juices (Banana, Special Mix, and Carrot). On our initial visit, the line moved extremely slowly, especially since there were some patrons who kept requesting various condiments/salt, who were holding up the line. In addition, there were some patrons who had placed an order earlier who was cutting in line to pick their food up as well. We wanted to try their Chicken Shawarma, but it was sold out! Note to self: get there early! On the next visit, we were able to get there early enough for a later lunch, and was able to order: +the Chicken Shawarma - a thin wrap filled with chicken shawarma, garlic sauce, olives, pickles, tomatoes, and onions; we opted out of the lettuce; the chicken was very well-marinated and flavorful, but this was not served hot; this was, at most, at room temperature, which wasn't really pleasant; also, the wrap could have been rolled a bit more tightly, as all the ingredients just continued to fall out +the Afghan Burger - a thin wrap filled with a sausage, fries, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions; we opted out of the lettuce; this was pretty decent, but the hand-cut fries were not hot or fresh; again, this wrap, as the Chicken Shawarma, was not served hot and was at room temperature; the wrap could have been rolled a bit more tightly, as all the ingredients and toppings were loose and fell out continuously +the Banana Juice - was similar to a thinned out smoothie; definitely not your typical sweet smoothie; this tasted fresh and doesn't seem to contain any sweeteners or sugar; I thought that this was just okay, but could have been prepared cold; this was, like the other food items, lukewarm The later crowd seems to get made-to-order items, as there's usually a line, and food has to be be kept up; however, our lunch experience seems to have the food already pre-cooked/pre-made, making it not fresh Staff were kind and friendly. The Chicken itself in the shawarma was a bit dry, but the combination of sauce, seasoning, and the afghan bread was really tasty, note that there is ALOT of black pepper. The Afghan burger itself was alright, the volume of food for the price you pay is pretty good, finding food in NoVA for sub $15 that will fill you up is always nice to see. There were fries, boiled eggs, and a sausage, along with a lot of black pepper once again, not sure if there was supposed to be a sauce but that might've helped the burger be a bit more tasty/less dry.
