I got a promo email from FiveStars about a BOGO free grape series so decided to go there. However, when I I got there, they said they couldn't honor because it wasn't in their system. I was annoyed because this was the 2nd time this happened with a promo. The email said applied to all California locations, so why didn't they have it in their system? Got their new drink called the Thailand Mango Milk Tea. It was pretty good and I was skeptical of the passion fruit kelly but it was actually a really nice addition. They don't take too long with making our drinks but they didn't call it out so we kind of just have to look out for the drinks they push out or wait for the text. The problem with the text though is I got it almost 5 minutes after my drink was already down. I used to like this place but recently seems to have changed. Today I ordered the milk foam earl Grey tea. This is after I asked questions about the teas and was given an explanation on the comparison. I ordered the Milk foam Earl Grey tea because she said the foam sits on top and would be sweeter than the earl gray fresh milk tea. When they called my number, I saw a regular looking milk tea I realized it was mine and asked him about the milk foam. I've always been a fan of Gong Cha and this obviously didn't disappoint! I got the Earl Gray Milk Tea, just make sure to get it less sweet since most of their drinks tend to be on the sweeter side. It is located on the Grub food court floor! They also have eco-friendly straws! Always a plus whenever you can save the sea turtles! You have to find parking inside this busy structure and walked over to the food court. This is way too much trouble Upon arrival, the staff were not busy except talking to one another. They did not seem happy at their job or want to help you. I knew my drink was not going to be great, however, I have already gone through so much trouble to get there. Whenever I'm at The Source, I am so tempted to get boba here because I want to like this place so bad. However whenever I do end up caving in to get the boba here, I'm just not satisfied. This is located in the food court on the top floor of the source. We came on a Saturday at 6 pm and had to wait about 30 minutes to order and get our drink. Order ahead if you plan to go during that time! We got our goto drink, lemon juice with aiyu jelly and glass boba at 50 percent sugar/ice. This location or at least our drink was a tad on the sweeter side so I recommend 25 percent or 0 percent if you don't want it too sweet. We ended up adding some water to dilute the sweetness. After I finished work yesterday, I decided to redeem my reward to see if it was any good. It's located in the food court on the third floor next to Mochinut and Jaws TPK. The staff were chatting with each other but once they saw I was looking at the menu boards, they walked over to the register and greeted me. I went with a small Thai iced milk tea with half sweetness and half ice. With the reward, that came out to $0.54 - a good way for me to try the drinks without spending too much. The drink came out in seconds and the other girl informed me that despite the ticket on my cup claiming it was full sweetness, she made sure it was less. I'm not sure if that was a typo on their label machine for the tickets or if they misheard me when I ordered. Tea wasn't bad - maybe a little sweeter than I usually like. The Thai tea flavor I'm used to tasting in other teas I've had seemed a little weak or non-existent. Maybe they didn't brew this batch as strong, but it was a little bit of a letdown. I would say the tea isn't bad but I would not consider this my go to place for tea. Staff were pretty friendly when I went and they worked efficiently to get my order out. I really enjoyed their strawberry milk tea. What's nice about this place is that you can adjust your sugar and ice level. I got mine with a 70% sugar level and it seemed to be the perfect amount of sweetness. I would suggest getting 25% ice though since even then it felt like a bunch of ice. Service is great and they will remake your drink if you don't like it. However, that wasn't necessary for me since my drink tasted perfect. My only regret is not getting a larger size! I'd come here on a weekly basis, sometimes two or three times a week and order their Earl Grey Milk Tea w/ 30% sweetness. Their quality of milk teas and boba were great, but not so much on my most recent visit. I stopped by this place about a week ago for the first time in about a year or two and was very disappointed. I got the usual, their Earl Grey Milk Tea, but with 50% sweetness, along with their boba. This time around, the milk tea was really watered down and the boba had no flavor at all. The only thing that stayed the same, if not better, was the service. Don't get me wrong, the service here has always been outstanding, but the quality of their drinks definitely got worse. I won't be returning, unless i'm out with friends. I'm surprised I'm even going to say this, but the Ding Tea in this plaza is better than Gong Cha.
