Back in 2008-2011+, the plaza this is located in was a common hangout spot for teenagers because of Guppy Tea House's popularity. Since the departure of Guppy's, nothing really attracted anyone to stop by and the Artesia City Plaza (Cha2O, Bakers & Baristas, Tea Station,etc.) blew up. I was able to visit this location on the last day of their soft opening.  The green milk tea tasted a bit "milkier" than other places I've been to and the boba seemed to be smaller in size. It was interesting to see on top of the usual option of how sweet the tea would be, I could also choose how much ice I wanted in my drink. I'll be back to try their other menu items in the future, but for now they can have 4 stars. I'm not sure if the rising popularity of RiceString Noodle Shack and the newly opened Gong Cha will bring this plaza back to life, but here's to hoping so! read more

I tried the Wintermelon Milk Foam tea with boba. You can't taste the milk foam drinking with the straw. Then when you mix it, it takes over the whole drink. The boba was soft and chewy but on the blander side. I do appreciate the menu variety without being too overwhelming; especially the non-caffeinated drinks because most places don't! I really love this place. The staff are always nice when I come here. You have to call to place your order since the Covid stuff is going on for pick up. If you pay by credit card, you will need to give your card number on the phone. When your order is ready, they place it on the tables outside and call your name. Gong Cha is the best! I wish they had more locations... but while they don't, this one is awesome! They stepped up to all the challenges Covid has brought to safely bring yummy drinks to their customers. I visited for a walk-in order and saw that they have a nice tropical set-up of two tables and some chairs in a parking spot in front of the store. There are some other sets on the sidewalk. Patio seating! It was nice to have a place to wait for our drinks (but too hot to just chill there). There's a limit of one customer at a time in the store. There's a stand for completed drinks- perfect for pickups and deliveries. For walk-in orders, they will call your name when the drinks are done and you can pick it up at the stand. The process was super smooth. Now for the drinks- I enjoyed my marble mango a lot! It was milky with some mango bits. The perfect mango milk taste! The House Coffee was also good- it's like Vietnamese coffee. Anddd, there are reusable straw sets for sale! I have a set and it's so cute. It comes in a pouch printed with a Gong Cha smiley face boba cup. There's a straw cleaner, a big straw, and a small straw. The straws have a pointy end that's perfect for poking your boba tops. Definitely recommend this Gong Cha location! I hope they keep it up. read more

Oh my god! I've been living in the area and didn't know this place was here. Drinks were really good and I love the fact that you get to pick your ice and sweetness level; So cool!!! This is my first time trying Gong Cha after hearing a lot of good things about it. I love toppings, so I decided to get the Earl Grey Milk Tea with 3J, which includes 3 toppings (pearls, herbal jelly, and egg pudding). I really enjoyed the textures of the toppings and how they weren't too sweet. I also thought the tea flavor was nice and not watered down like other places I've visited. I got 30% sweetness which was the perfect amount for me. 50% is their recommended sweetness level, but that definitely would've been too sweet for me. It's the first time that I've been to Gong Cha when I recently came across this Cerritos location. The place looks well maintained and staff was friendly and helpful. I guess and would hope, though, that if I had ordered one of their tea or boba drinks, I would have had a different and better experience. They were advertising for a limited time their Blueberry Series and I had ordered the Blueberry Smoothie that caught my eye. Unfortunately, it was nothing that I expected which would have been a drink consistency of something you would get at Jamba Juice. It was more of a blueberry slush drink as it was icy with a lot of crushed ice that didn't quite get blended enough to be a "smoothie". There was even a lot of fresh blueberry solids remaining that didn't get blended either making it fairly hard to drink. Maybe I had a bad drink maker or they have a different definition of a smoothie, but this blueberry smoothie wasn't good for my $5. Rating them solely on catering order that I had with them for an AAPI celebration at my work that I was organizing. Once I was put in contact with the new manager, we texted and were able to work out the order. I was even able to make a payment online. The drinks turned out great, I took her suggestion and had less sweet and some ice for the 50 drinks I ordered. My only comment is if you are going to cater or have a big order, request it to be ready after 11:30am, because they open at 11am and may not have it ready in time. My order took exceptionally long and I'm not sure it was due to a staffing issue but I loved my drinks and food so we're keeping it at 5 stars, staffing and supply shortages are common these days and the service was great aside from the wait. I love that even at regular sweetness, neither of my drinks weren't overly sweet and they both were so good. Boba itself was tasty as well. Friendly staff members. Parking is easy as it is located in a plaza surrounded with restaurants, business offices and other cafes. This location is relatively new, so the place is really clean. Tables are new and the walls are freshly painted. The drinks are great. I had the black tea ice cream and it was great. Something new. Instead of using milk or creamer they put a scoop of ice cream. With locations dotting the east coast and lots of locations in California, you'll soon discover why this boba tea chain has a presence in the boba world. Drink: Really sad about my experience recently. Ordered the Wintermelon Fresh Milk since I love wintermelon drinks at any boba place but my god is it suppose to taste like water? Like if I blindfolded you and asked you what drink this was the answer would be "water with a hint of tea." It wasn't creamy like typical fresh-milk type of drinks and had absolutely 0 sweetness. Which was weird because I usually have to lower the sweetness levels, but I hadn't modified it at all. The brown sugar isn't overpowering or too sweet, it's the perfect amount, and it is seeped into the boba so that the boba has a nice taste as well. 10/10 would recommend the brown sugar milk tea at gongcha it's the best one i've had in socal. Gongcha used to be my #1 boba place, and it's still great for a light milky tea and boba, since all boba places have their own taste and gongcha has its unique attractiveness. Howeve, today was my first time getting gongcha since march and I'm getting the feeling they changed something. There's a slight lemon-y? aroma coming from the tea and it's super light but i can tell they've changed something.. maybe it's the sugar syrup.
