Always come here to get my boba fix. What stands them out from other boba places in the city is the different flavors they have. I always enjoy their marble matcha tea with boba and foam. Sometimes I add pudding and always make sure I order it with no ice and no sugar and I still enjoy this very much!!! The workers are young and don't expect much from them so can't really say they provide exceptional customer service. But can't say they are rude either. We are simple tea drinkers who enjoy the flavors of teas so when I ordered the straight green tea with no add ons I wasn't disappointed in its authentic flavors. Great base tea for other drinks. It was quite warm yesterday afternoon at 91 degrees. We would be visiting a friend at his office and thought to pick up some drinks to keep cool while waiting for him to finish work and to bring him a drink for after work. Folks at home wanted to try the new tea place to us and we brought a cooler to transport their drinks home. Since we were ordering so many drinks, we wanted to place our order while we were en route. We started placing our order at 4:25 p.m. while still on the freeway. Since it was our first time ordering, we had to open an account. After we did, we placed our order of a large milk foam green tea at 70% sweet with 50% ice, a large lemon juice with white pearls & Ai-Yu, a large Earl Grey milk tea with 3J, a large lychee oolong tea at 70% sweet and 25% ice, and a medium QQ Passion Fruit Green Tea at 70% sweet and 50% ice. We reduce the ice because we don't what the tea to get diluted nor the flavors. We don't like our tea overly sweet and 70% is usually good for when we drink green teas. We received a notification with our order number and a time of 4:50 p.m. for the drinks to be ready. We arrived early and watched the customers going in and out until the time our drinks were ready. There were just one or 2 customers during that time coming out with one or 2 drinks. When we did enter, our drinks were ready in a bag. The straws given are an interesting material being biodegradable. I needed to use the restroom. We weren't sure if that would be possible as some shops only reserve the use to their employees during the pandemic. We thought to ask. They were having a shift change. There was someone in the restroom from the last shift. The young lady from the next shift was kind enough to let me go first even though she had been waiting. I felt so much more comfortable to enjoy my drink and drive on to the office. Kind treatment of customers alone would convince me to return again, but the drinks were also excellent. My daughter gave her drink of lemon juice with white pearls & ai-yu 5 stars out of 5. She really enjoyed her drink and finished it while waiting for her friend. I liked my milk foam green tea also as it was not too sweet and tasted like it was brewed fresh. Our friend was more familiar with the tea shop. We liked how pure the ingredients were. Older daughter was suitably impressed with the amount of toppings in her Earl Grey milk tea with 3J. The pearls, pudding, and herbal jelly filled up half the cup. This is one of many tea & boba places in the Cerritos/Artesia area. I have driven by this location many times and mentally put it on my long list of places to try. Then I saw a photo of a brown sugar milk tea that Jane L. posted for a different Gong Cha location and it made me move it to the top of my list. The next time I was in the mood for milk tea I headed over to Gong Cha. I ordered the brown sugar milk tea with boba. The older man and young woman working here were really nice and quick to prepare my drink. I liked that they asked how much ice I wanted. There are two small tables and a window counter with a few stools if you want to sit inside (it's a tiny place) but I took mine for the road. I guess I was expecting more of a brown sugar flavor but it just tasted like a sweetened milk tea. Above average compared to other milk teas I've had from the various establishments in the area. The boba had the proper texture and there was plenty to be had in the bottom of the cup. Definitely an option when considering where to get your next milk tea if you're in the area (they also have a few food items like popcorn chicken and fries). read more

Very upset with the customer service at Gong Cha tonight in Cerritos. Ordered my drink on the website to be ready for pickup. When I arrived I received a text it was ready , when I went inside I was told it would take a few more minutes. I waited , then went inside again to check on my drink and told me again a few more minutes, so I waited again. At this point I was waiting for my drink for already 25-30 minutes. When I went inside for the third time they told me they couldn't make my drink because they ran out of milk tea and boba. This was truly disappointing because instead of letting me know , they made me wait all this time , just tell me they couldn't make my drink. As someone who loves gong cha, this location really disappoints me. They are extremely unorganized which is a clear sign that the management is bad. In addition, the place is not clean. I have sat there and my eyes start burning after a couple hours. The tables are always sticky and things are always dirty. The drinks are mediocre at best. Gong Cha always amazes me with it's consistency and fast service, but it really blew me away with the texting order option. I was able to order my drink, received an accurate time estimate, and was able to pick it up and pay at the counter with no fuss. A lot of stores have the calling and ordering option but texting makes it easier because you have an actual record of your order. My personal go to is the Lemon Juice with White Pearl and Aiyu Jelly at 0% sweetness (because I always get it late at night and can't deal with the caffeine) but I hope I can stop by on an afternoon to try all their other drinks! read more

We always come here when the Sharetea across the street is super busy and we don't want to wait to fulfill our milk tea cravings. This Gong Cha is much more calm and there is almost never a line when we come. The workers are nice and attentive, always gets the order right and done quickly. The decor is chic and cute, a nice ambience if you want to sit down and hang out with friends. There isn't a lot of seating or big tables inside though... My favorite drink is the strawberry milk tea, 50% sweet, 25% ice! It has a nice hint of strawberry that compliments the black milk tea very nicely. This place just became my new favorite place for milk tea! They have a wide variety of options where you set the sweetness and ice levels but so far Ive only tried the Early Grey Milk Tea and Oolong Milk Tea both with Milk Foam. My favorite of the two is the Earl Grey Milk Tea with Milk Foam with 30% sugar and 50% ice. Since trying this one I likely (and so far haven't in the 5 times I've been here) won't try anything else since this one is just perfect. The earl grey flavors subtly peeks through the rush of flavors among the milk, sugar and super awesome sweet and savory combo of the milk foam. I highly suggest the milk foam addition and to drink it when it's fresh. The milk foam has a salty yet sweet flavor and a soft, creamy foam texture that complements the early grey milk tea just perfectly with every sip. Most cups are sealed in plastic and you pop the straw through. My milk coffee with foam came with a lid with a little hole you drank through. Service was super friendly. I am now all about the taro milk tea with coconut jellies. Both the boba and jellies are chewy and well cooked. I love the fact that you can customize your ice and sweetness level by percentage. Some of the teas are generally prepared pretty sweet. For example, the taro milk tea (which is actually milk free) I order 50% sweetness and 25% ice so I can get lots of yummy tea!!! Gong Cha is the newly opened tea house in Cerritos (opened last month). Gong Cha is a chain tea house from Taiwan and is slowly making their way to the US. My husband, our little girl dog and I were in the area and came by here last Saturday, around 1:45 pm. After looking over the menu, we ended up getting: Large Wintermelon W/ Fresh Milk, $4.25 prior to tax- My husband ordered this for himself with 50% sweetener. He liked the nutty flavor of this drink. I also liked the flavor of this drink and thought the sweetness level was good. Large Fresh Milk W/ Herbal Jelly, $4.50 prior to tax- I opted for this drink to be made with no ice. Sweetness level cannot be adjusted with this beverage since it is just milk and herbal jelly (which the jelly has already been premade). I thought this drink was good but would have been better if it was mixed with black tea (unfortunately that isn't an option on the menu but would probably ask if I was to order this again). I thought the herbal jelly was perfectly made and had a nice flavor. ----------------------------- (Total= $8.75 after tax) Wait time for our drinks to be made wasn't too long. We came at a good time because there were a lot more people that came in after we made our order. 3.5 Stars. I haven't had the best experience here in the past but I must admit I was surprised today. I haven't been here in years, but I decided to give this Gong Cha location another shot after seeing photos of their earl grey tea and milk tea. First and foremost, I'd like to highlight how Gong Cha has really stepped up the game amid this pandemic crisis. The store had three mini tables outside to place prepared drinks on for customers ordering from various online services (each table was labeled by service). They also had a sign on the door with the store's phone number to call, order, and pay over the phone. When I called to inquire how it works, the employee explained to me you can pay with card over the phone or if you only have cash, complete payment inside after they take your order over the phone. It makes sense if you're ordering and paying completely over the phone but not so much if I need to go inside anyway to pay in cash- seems a little redundant that way. But I Definitely appreciate the store's efforts in taking precautions to keep everyone, customers and employees alike, safe while still conducting business and meeting our boba needs. Now onto my actual drink, I ordered a large Earl grey milk tea, regular sweetness, less ice, and with milk foam. The milk tea was surprisingly good. It was really sweet, way sweeter than I was thinking an earl grey drink would be but I love sweet drinks so that didn't really bother me (though I will get 70% sweetness next time which might be better). The milk foam was salty which I wasn't expecting (I thought it would be sweet like cheese foam), so it didn't pair as well with the earl grey milk tea as I was hoping it would. But overall the drink was good, just a bit too sweet, even for me, but that can be adjusted. Service was also fast and friendly. I'm glad I gave this Gong Cha location another try. UPDATE: Next time came sooner rather than later. I went back and tried the matcha milk tea creme brulee, one of their current specialty drinks. I liked the creme brulee cheese foam, but sadly was not a fan of their matcha drink, which tasted a little bitter and watered-down. The milk foam wasn't super heavy like the salted cheese some boba places have. Been coming into Gong Cha a lot during the pandemic. They have their system set up with GrubHub pretty well, so perfectly contactless for payment and pick up. It's always a tough decision for me when deciding between Gong Cha and Sharetea, but the craziness with the Sharetea pick up system makes Gong Cha a lot more palatable to deal with on weekends. The only issue that keeps coming up is that when I'm ordering on GrubHub, the sweetness and ice levels keep getting reversed when the staff member types it into their internal ordering system. I would caution that anyone ordering online to double-check your drinks before driving off. If you discover it to be erroneous later, you can always call them and they'll either remake it for you (return trip required) or they'll give you a credit for next time's order.
