This Gong Cha location is, indeed, minuscule small retail space as there is no space should there be a line full of customers incurred. It is extremely tiny and thus, no space for seats and not even a ledge by the window can sustain customers. I concur in agreement with fellow Yelper Jenn P. with the size of this retail space and great customer service. Despite the minuscule size, customer service is a one woman staff who is competent functioning as associate, cashier, and cleaning. She got this and was doing it all! There was no space for a garbage bin to dispose the plastic straw wrapping, but a medium size brown paper bag. This 2061 Broadway, New York currently sits under aggravating scaffolding which I nearly missed while walking. Peach green tea, medium $7.00 30% sugar regular ice herbal jelly The female cashier Zhe Liu heeded all my requests to the tee. Order fulfillment is accurate and correct. I am a verifiable tapioca pearl hater and voiced my desiderium for these unwanted black balls of starch. Gong Cha can certainty kill me with herbal jelly starch! I always have a predilection for green tea or Oolong tea. My favorite default topping grass jelly (aka herbal jelly) loeng4 fan2 涼粉 is my standard request for $0.75 which was good, but not served chilled. The herbal jelly was blatantly measly paucity for quantity. I did receive a sales receipt. The ice melted entirely during my long-haul subway ride home. "Brewing happiness" is written on the cup lid. This place is tiny. It's so tiny most times you have to wait outside cause the inside only fits like 3-4 people max, and that's being generous. If they only had some seating. Kids love the strawberry boba, now should toddlers be having boba is a different question altogether, but they love it. I like the Earl Grey 3J or something - it comes with 3 different toppings, it's worth it. 2 bobas usually costs around $15. read more

I love Gong Cha. Everyone who works here is so nice and the bubble tea is very good. I especially like the peach tea. Their rewards program is decent too. The shop itself is extremely tiny (roughly 100 square feet - maybe room for 3 customers in there and of course no tables) but I think that also helps to keep things moving along quickly. The staff here usually goes the extra mile. Right after I had a baby, I was struggling to get used to opening doors and pushing her through, plus I was worried about germs. One time, I was standing outside of Gong Cha trying to figure out how to get my caffeine fix, and one of the staff members actually came outside to help and took my order out there instead. The young lady working here was SO kind and helpful! This was my first time trying boba. My granddaughter loves this place, so I told her that d try it with her. This meant, I was not knowledgeable about anything!! After receiving great detailed information for the young lady working here, I decided on the Crème Brûlée tea drink, knew how much ice & pearls o needed to order as well as how sweet to make it! I'm t was delicious and perfect!! The crème brûlée topping and cream/foam was AMAZING!! Grand had the Brown Sugar drink and she loved it as well! The location itself is tiny. Drink was bad, boba was soggy, practically no ice so it was lukewarm. I've been to other gong Chas but this location was just not it.

I know New York is already saturated with bubble tea shops but I still excited when a new one opens. Gong Cha, a well-known tea brand from Taiwan, recently opened a new location in the UWS near where I work, and boy was I happy to try them out. This location is teeny tiny. There isn't really any place to sit and hang out, in fact, the space can probably only fit two customers at a time. This is mainly a takeout and delivery service. I do like that the décor is simple, clean, and bright. The menu isn't overly large and surprisingly, there aren't many pictures of what the drinks looks like. I think I only saw one poster in the shop showcasing their top 5 drinks. I ordered a medium Taro Milk Slushie which cost a little over $8. As with most bubble tea shops, you can customize your drink with ice and sweetness levels. The drink had a nice creamy snow-like consistency, was not overly sweet and had a lovely nutty Taro flavor. The boba was on the chewier side. Overall, I found the drink really refreshing and wasn't disappointed. If you are needing a boba tea fix and are in the area, then you must try them out. read more

I'd seen them all over the city, but had actually never tried it. This Gong Cha location is extremely small--you could have 2 customers inside at a time and there is no place to drink inside, even standing. One of the things I like about Gong Cha is that there are many options for customization--which can also be a bit overwhelming. In addition to the drink itself, you can choose: - Size: Medium or Large - Level of sweetness: 0%, 30%, 50, 70% or 100% - Ice: None, Less (25%), default (50%) or More (100%) - Toppings: Pearls, Jelly, etc. I ordered a Medium Milk Foam Dirty Brown Sugar Milk Tea with Pearls, 75% sweetness and no ice ($6.26 incl. tax). I wish I could say I loved the drink, but it was a bit watery and the boba wasn't amazing either. When I first saw the drink, I thought it was for someone else, because it looked nothing like the photo. I've never had Gong Cha at other locations, so I'm not sure if this was a one-off or if this is standard. For this price point and quality, I'd go elsewhere. read more

I'm a boba newbie, but I really enjoyed the Wintermelon flavor. It's caramely and sweet. Very tasty. There was a lot of pearls in the bottom which I wish there were a little less, but maybe that's just my preference. This location is tiny. There is only room for you to stand and order. No seating. Very much for people on the go. But the workers were very nice and the drinks came out fairly quickly. read more

I'm a big fan of bubble tea/Boba, so I was excited to see that Gong Cha opened up close to me. I stopped in and ordered a medium oolong milk tea with Boba, and the drink came out very quickly. The drink was delicious, and the boba had great texture. I ordered mine at 70% sweetness, but it still felt pretty sweet, so would definitely recommend reducing the sugar. That being said, the store itself is very small, and essentially feels like a counter. You can probably reasonably accommodate 3 to 4 people standing inside waiting for their drinks. It seems like the menu at this location has a smaller selection than the other ones in the city, but generally still has the classics, and will definitely scratch the itch. read more

We just ordered two dirty brown sugar bobas with pearls. The drinks arrived with no pearls. When we called the place, we were rudely told "I'm pretty sure we put pearls in the drink". Which was crazy, because we would have known if we had literal balls in our drinks (see photo we took abt being excited for boba for reference) Anyways, when I told the person on the phone that we're sure there's no boba in our boba drink.. they told us they can't issue a refund or do anything about it. When I asked for store credit they said can't do that either. Anyways, this person on the phone told us they wouldn't even replace our drinks.. they then said they would not charge us for the boba (aka 70 cents) if we re-order... why would we reorder and pay 20$ again (+ delivery and taxes) only to save 70 cents.. when in reality we just wanted our boba. I expressed to the person on the phone that that wouldn't really work and we just want our drinks replaced for the correct thing and they said there's nothing they can do about it.. Terrible customer service, very disappointing (especially being told that they're sure they put pearls and we're basically lying.) Very disappointing experience overall. read more

I'm not a huge sugar person, but.. GAWDDD DAMNNNNN! Ordered the brown sugar foam tea hot, only 50% sweet... and I honestly don't know how to describe it. The foam is next level sweet but in the best of ways. Can't pin the flavors. If you like sweet and want a hot drink, go for it!!! I apologize for this rating (really a 2.5). I saw some negative reviews on google about the taste & incorrect orders, but thought what I was going to order was basic enough. Got an Earl Grey Milk Tea with Tapioca pearls and it was extremely watered down *cry*. I've ordered from Gong Cha in multiple other locations before & the same drink too, none of them stood out to me as this bland. Staff was nice. Love the location, super convenient to stop by before or after heading to Trader Joe's. Would really want this location to stay, but please check on the mixtures/ingredients used for these drinks. Yelp doesn't have that many reviews yet since it's quite new, but Google already has similar negative reviews. Pretty average place. I usually get the lychee oolong tea with tapioca. The passion fruit green tea is also good. The matcha doesn't have a grassy flavor though and just tastes like milk. Service is fast and the drinks come out very quickly tho. I come here once in a while since i'm always in the area. It's a small shop with no seating. The area can fit about 2-3 people at most so you just grab your drink and go. read more

Worth the hype! I only came in to get one of their viral gingerbread boba cups and honestly it did not disappoint. Beside the adorable cups, the drinks were so good. They have so many options to choose from drinks, milk, sugar level, to toppings. The shop was very clean and neat and service was fast. Overall it was a 10/10! read more
