For those who are unaware...you can order teas without boba & aloe jelly (which is too caloric for me!). Plus, you can also request different %'s of sugary & flavored syrup /sweetness. They also list the calories content of their drinks. My LOVES: Grapefruit & Strawberry @ 30% sweet level, Champagne Grape Aloe (w/ fresh aloe jelly & bits of grapes) & Fresh Watermelon Slush (w/ NO sugar), which is my absolute #1 fave..especially refreshing on a hot, summer day! Another MUST TRY: the BEST POPCORN CHICKEN in NYC - a popular Taiwanese street snack in a small paper bag eaten w/ lil' wooden sticks. You can choose from Spicy, (the original classic) Pepper Salt, Curry & Basil but my fave is always the Garlic, which is less salty than the classic flavor. You bite into a non-greasy, super-tasty & crunchy garlic batter followed by a juicy & tender dark-meat chicken morsel. It's 1 of the BEST (Taiwanese) Popcorn Chicken on UES & IMHO, compared to other popcorn chicken versions (eg. Popeyes,' KFC, etc), it's the tastiest of the bunch & doesn't require any sauces! Fulfillment achieved. Desideratum attained. Taste. Currently there is a promotion if payment is cash for my order to be upgraded from medium to large for the same price. "Upgrade to large" written on my sales receipt received. My default topping herbal jelly loeng4 fan2 涼粉 for $0.75, obtained is included in my order was well worth the price. The herbal jelly was a joyful delight, but very infinitesimal paucity quantity. I believe the quantity of toppings embedded should be in accord to the cup size. My 30% sugar level request was a good choice for this particular drink as it was not entirely sweet. The ice did sustained my drink to be chilled enduring my long-haul subway ride home. Again, Vivi Bubble Tea's sugar skull female character appears ubiquitous on their cups, drink sealant lid, and wall decor who is wearing pink. My friend said her passion fruit was pretty good and though I didn't take a picture of it, my boyfriend got a strawberry slush, and that was amazing. Came here on a Friday after work because I was craving brown sugar milk tea. I ordered ahead for pickup. The store itself is small but cute. There are so many different menus on the walls. There isn't a seating area but there is a long couch and a counter against the opposite wall if you'd like to stay for a few minutes. The girls who were working there were nice. I arrived early so they just politely let me know my order would be ready in a few minutes. I got the flaming brown sugar milk tea, popcorn chicken (pepper salt flavor), and fries. I took my food to go and meet someone nearby. The chicken and fries came in bags with longer toothpicks to stick and eat, almost street vendor style. This would make it convenient to eat on the go. I actually prefer this packaging to take the food a short distance because no condensation forms. By the time I got to the location, they were still crispy. The flaming brown sugar milk tea was exactly what I was hoping it would be. It was sweet without being too sweet. You can also adjust the level of sugar and ice you want. I just got normal for both. The fries were good. They didn't do anything different to them so they were just normal fries. The flavor of the chicken was good. I'll probably want to try the spicy flavor next. Both the fries and chicken were crispy and I could tell they were freshly made. I think the price is fair for what you get. The portion for the fries and chicken were good and could be shared between 2 people. They were $7.95 and $8.95 respectively. I paid $8.75 for the large brown sugar milk tea. It's a bit pricey in my opinion. However, it was for a large and tasted delicious. It honestly might be the same price as other shops nowadays. For what I ordered, I give a 4/5 star experience. I got the strawberry slushee and their curly fries. The fries were seasoned, nothing overwhelming and hot. The packaging it comes in makes it pretty convenient to eat on the go. The slushee was refreshing and delicious without being toothache sweet as most berry slushees are. The service was good. They were nice and polite which is always appreciated. I can't tell if it was because I came during their slower hours but their chairs and decor seemed to be moved to the side, like an afterthought. This was a super friendly Vivi, and I took shelter here from a rainstorm in New York's beautiful, wet asphalt smell and soaked streets. Such nice people, and lovely teas that they made me as well. Right next to the Q, it's a small, cramped shop with booth seats without tables and a countertop without any chairs. There's cardboard on the floor and the menus cover the entire cash register. The servers are all teenagers and look like they barely want to be there. So the usual vibe for a take-out chain boba place. I was expecting the drinks to be mediocre, but honestly they weren't bad. And given that the UES lacks a lot of good bubble tea, they do hit the craving. Would recommend the blue galaxy/pea drink for tea lovers, and oreo creme brulee for the diabetics. It's incredibly refreshing with the type of ice inside, a slushy texture that goes easily through the straw. Delicious and refreshing! The inside is pretty small and was crowded the entire time. Wow! The best popcorn chicken I had outside of Taiwan! Came here and got the matcha red bean milk tea and the salt and pepper popcorn chicken. The popcorn chicken was very crispy and loaded with flavor and super yummy. I'm craving for more now just thinking about it. The matcha milk tea was good too. Only complaint is it was very busy when I got there and it's a small place and everyone waited inside. No social distancing. This is going to be a huuuuuuge money sucker. After Yogurtland closed down, hubby and I haven't quite found a good place to go to for a close after dinner snack. Sedduto is good but a little too far (7 blocks) and I don't always feel like ice cream especially in the dead of winter. Kung Fu is good but still a little far (we are lazy! haha). Vivi is the perfect addition now. The drinks are a little sweeter than other places; 50% sugar is too much, so try 30% to get to a level that tastes like 50% at other places. There are so many different types of drinks to try; so far, I have tried the milk tea with bubbles (cold), matcha tea with red beans (cold), kumquat tea with basil seeds (cold) and Logan honey tea (hot). My favorite is the Logan honey tea - it has pieces of Logan in it! Since this place has opened, we have already gone there enough times to get our stamp card filled. Aside from the bubble tea, Vivi also serves food. The prices seem pretty good for the food. They offer a ramen combo with popcorn chicken for only 9$! I haven't tried the food other than the popcorn chicken. The best flavor out of the ones I tried (spicy, basil, salt and pepper) is the spicy. They give you quite a bit of popcorn chicken too (only 4.50$!). It is rare to find a decent bubble team place in the UES, so you gotta appreciate that Vivi expanded its territory to the neighborhood. I am not a big fan of "bubble", so I always ordered the oolong float (oolong tea base topped with cheese foam), the tea was refreshing and the cheese foam added a creamy texture that enriched the flavor. If you are not a milk tea person, they also offer a lot of fruity tea. Besides the tea, they had Taiwanese street food and bento box on the food menu as well. I only tried the Taiwanese bbq sausage, it was $5 for two pieces, pretty tasty, they always made it fresh (but a bit greasy). I have not tried the bento box yet, not sure if it is good. The waitresses were pretty nice, after you ordered, they would give you a ticket for pickup. You can take away or eat there, they have four tables. This place is like a diamond in the rough in my eyes! I had though the Upper East Side had no bubble tea chains (as my last work location had none sadly) but lo and behold a Vivi's right by the train station! They really chose a prime spot to open. Props to them! It's a small space inside with four tables and seating on both sides. There's also a standing area across from the tables for when it gets crowded I supposed. The order is taken quickly and they have a stamp card! Someone may or may not have already 4 stamps on their card within the span of a week. With the hot summer weather coming soon, I will probably be redeeming my stamp card within the next three weeks. I've only tried the milk tea and strawberry yakult from here. The milk tea is your typical chain store milk tea. It's definitely from a powder. It's a bit more on the sweet side. The strawberry yakult has actually strawberry...pieces inside it! It was a bit off putting at first as I didn't expect it but it's pretty tasty! I will definitely be back to try their other flavors and the popcorn chicken! read more

Horrible attitude. I normally dont write reviews but I have been noticing this behavior for YEARS. I know employees here have long days but EVERY. SINGLE. TIME i order, each female gives some type of attitude. And its not just toward me. It is toward other customers as well. They are rude over the phone as well. I have worked customer service before and I know it's difficult but at least have a decent attitude. Most employees at the vivi locations in Manhattan have bad attitude. Was initially happy to see this place open up by my job as I've taken a huge liking for bubble tea recently. I finally came in to and tried the passion fruit tea with "bubbles". The bubble tea was super sweet and I'm not sure if that's the whole gig here at this spot but I guess I'm used to Kung Fu's tea that tastes like it was made using actual tea bags. I also ordered the popcorn chicken on the side to munch on. Maybe it's just a personal preference but I always feel like boneless chicken, chicken strips, or nuggets (popcorn) should be made with chicken breast and nothing else. The batter was crunchy which I liked, however I found the chicken to be overly salty. The meat was mostly good but I bit into a lot of fatty pieces which absolutely disgusts me. I don't care for fatty pieces of ANY kind of meat so I was turned off by that. I do plan on giving this place another shot to change my mind about my first experience. They offer lots of variety and flavors of bubble tea but I have not had the chance to try them, so this is only a review of their ramen. They offer ramen and ramen combos which comes with your choice of protein on the side. I had the tonkotsu ramen combo with Taiwanese pork chops. The ramen was mediocre but it did come with an egg which other places charges extra for. The pork chop was delicious but don't make the mistake that I did in placing it into the ramen. All the crispy goodness became a soggy mess. Considering the area, the price is pretty good. Ramen costs around $7.50 and the combos are about $10. It feels like this Vivi popped up overnight! Located right at the opening of the Q train entrance on 70th, it's in very close proximity to the major hospitals and academic centers in the area. This Taiwanese bubble tea place is sure to be competition to the Kungfu Tea on first avenue. There are a few really great qualities. The ample seating and relatively spacious interior make it a comfortable place to catch up with friends. They also offer hot snacks like popcorn chicken and rice plates. The drink menu is enormous! At our visit, we got the popcorn chicken, which comes with your choice of flavoring (basil, garlic, curry, or pepper) and two slushes - lemon kumquat and lychee. The popcorn chicken came out piping hot and fresh. It was well-seasoned but a little on the flour-y side. Prices are reasonable and perfect for a midday pick me up. Service was also speedy and efficient. Some drawbacks - the slushes were overly sweet and one dimensional. The lemon kumquat had very little lemon or kumquat flavor and tasted like generic citrus syrup. The cashier also gave us the little straws instead of the wider ones for bubble tea , which made it hard to drink the slushes. Next time I come, I would definitely skip the slushes. If this Vivi's is similar to their other locations, the fruit teas are definitely the way to go especially because you can usually adjust the sugar and ice levels in your drink. She gave us drinks with ice and boba, we told her we wanted all of the drinks to be blended, she said the price is different, I said that's fine, as long as the drinks are blended, she gave me an unpleasant look and kept asking me if I'm sure, I said I'm sure. I don't understand why she doesn't understand that slushy is blended, I ordered off the menu right in front of her. She started to redo them, to prevent any missed understanding and waste the drink and time, I softly reminded her that one of the drink is half sweet, OMG she was pissed. She stopped mixing and turned around with nasty looks and told me "I GOT IT". It was like she knew what's she doing leave her alone. It was bad, even my daughter felt it that she was not happy to redo the orders.
