Cheese-wrapped Volcano Wing
Airi G.

I'm about to get on my health grind by eating Korean oven-baked wings instead of fried ones. I tried all of the flavors they offered except pepper crispy and my favorites were definitely the volcano, soy garlic, and sweet and spicy. That said, the galbi and original dipped in the sauce wasn't bad either. What made the saucy wings even better was the cheese dip. I've seen so many people try this on Instagram and even one of the waiters recommended that I wrap the wing with the cheese. It was actually a lot better than I thought because the cheese was pretty tangy and sharp as opposed to mild. I wish I knew what type of cheese it was because it was delicious. The interior design is stunning and the space is huge. There's a seating area downstairs with plenty of tables but also a beautiful private blacked-out room. Then, as you go up the staircase, there's more tables indoors and a spacious outdoor patio. They're having the grand opening this weekend so I can't imagine how packed and popular this place will get within the next few months. Street parking is tough but they do have valet for $3.

The pricing is pretty steep for chicken wings. At $34.99, that is almost $3 per wing. The sauces were okay, but likely contradicts the 'healthy' marketing aspect. The gochujang chicken pasta ($19.45) was pretty good. The mac and cheese ($4.45) left a lot to be desired. The pickled radish ($2.00) lacked crunch and portions were small and you have to pay extra for more servings. Add a 9.5% tax and the typical Korean restaurant service, you may question whether or not this Korean chicken experience is worth it. It was nice to try this Korean chain restaurant and see what the hype is. Plenty of seating and the restaurant is quite spacious. Mandatory valet parking fee even if you parked the car. Total: $90.29 post-tax and tip

I had Goobne since I've already tried lots of great Korean FRIED chicken places before but this time I wanted to go for a healthier alternative, and this place did not disappoint at all. A Korean American friend was the one that recommended it. I tried the boneless galbi seasoning one but there's also the Sweet & Spicy and the Pepper Crispy one. The flavor alone is totally worth it. Although I still love deep fried chicken, I think with this roasted method you get more actual meat per pound. The boxes that the chicken come in are also super cool and practical for takeout and overall it was definitely worth the price (the portions are so big, you'll definitely have leftovers for the next day as well!)

everything I had here was sooooo delicious!! my favorites were the soy garlic and the galbi . even though these wings are healthier because they are oven roasted instead of fried, the texture is so amazingly crispy and delicious, and even better than the classic fried ones imo if you're looking for a healthier but delicious alternative to your favorite fried foods, this spot is for you!! When I first walked in the servers were so so friendly and enthusiastic about what they served, eagerly pointing out what flavors they recommend. The interior is very sleek and modern and there is actually a ton of seating! I loved the patio on the second floor, it was really nice to sit outside and enjoy the meal. In addition to the chicken, I was able to try their fondue cheese, which was so amazing with the chicken. The cheese pull was *chefs kiss* and so chewy. The Mac and cheese was also a good addition to the salty, sweet chicken. All in all, I had a great time and would highly recommend goobne!

Tried out this new Ktown location both takeout and dine in. I would have to say food was amazing! I originally was not fond of oven roasted chicken but this place is recommended. We ordered the pepper chicken, galbi and soy garlic boneless and was flavorful. Also try out the garlic pasta and the chicken tacos they are new on the menu and go well with the meal as well. Service was awesome, staff were friendly and the interior provided wide open space. Great vibe overall.

Staffs are extremely friendly but apologetic as it took over an hour to get the food to our table‍ But it seems like that s how it is all the time (as I attempted to visit multiple times - always 30-60min wait to get the food) regardless of how busy they are. BUT THE CHICKEN IS OG I tasted a bit of Korea here. The sauce lacks of bit compared to what I use to have in Korea but just glad to have Goobne in KTOWN. But the onion rings and waffle fries are waste of money. Too much breading and rather soggy than anything near crispy.

2024.04.27 pepper crispy and soy garlic (half & half) liked soy garlic better.

Food: 4 stars Service: 5 stars (for take out only) My sister told me about this place, and we finally tried their chicken this past Saturday. Ordered takeout on early Saturday night, and both phone and in-person services were great. Our food was also ready when I arrived. Took about 20-25 minutes for phone order. Overall, I would say this place is a hit or miss since our family all gave 3 - 4 stars and said they would go back to other Korean fried chickens. We ordered two half & half as follows: original & volcano wings, and soy garlic & pepper crispy wings. Of the four, my first pick was soy garlic. Other family members picked pepper crispy and volcano. Original barely had any flavors, it was too plain for me. Wings are definitely bigger than other places, and all wings were cooked perfectly. But unfortunately, it was a miss for our family.

I had the creamy chicken burrito and korean pesto pasta! I had gotten delivery from this place ever since they opened, but when their side menus opened up I just had to come in to try it in person. The service was amazing, all the servers were really sweet and attentive, and the food was even better! The vibes and ambiance is so much better than the pictures. For chicken I recommend the original or soy garlic, and for the sides you HAVE to try the pesto pasta. Highly recommend this new hot spot in LA!

Def top tier korean fried chicken place. I've never seen that thickest juicy chicken wings in my life!! But wish the price was bit lower than that.

I really enjoyed the creaminess and how it just came together with the sliced pear and candied walnuts. Wish i ordered one bowl just for myself haha. Was sad that the zabuton was not on the menu but they had the chuck flat. Still think the zabuton tasted better! Service was great. Music wasn't as loud as when we first went. It was a great family meal! Can't wait to come back.

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
