GCW is in the food hall at H Mart at Beach, just South of the 405. They specialize is roasted & fried chicken. However, they also have fuzn items like galbi pizza. We ordered 20 wings: 10 sweet & spicy, and 10 of another flavor. We both noticed that the wings had a nice fry job despite not being battered, and they were moist & meaty. Nonetheless, I would have liked more heat with my wings. The lady who took our order was super friendly & nice, and our order came out fairly quickly. As I mentioned in my other review, the food hall area is large and clean. No carts are allowed, that leads to more space to walk around. I would definitely return to GCW the next time I am at H Mart. There are a number of other eateries in the food hall I would like to try also like Korean street dogs, noodles and an egg sando place.

We checked out Goobne Chicken, a Korean chain known for oven-roasted chicken (they proudly advertise that they don't fry anything - healthier vibes!). The location isn't the best because it's tucked in the corner right next to the restroom in the food hall of H mart Westminster but Goobne is actually a pretty big name in Korea, especially around Jeollanam-do and Jeju. Their U.S. expansion started in Texas, and California now has about five locations. I tried the chicken skewers, and they were pretty good. Lighter flavor, not greasy, and definitely on the healthier side compared to typical Korean fried chicken spots. Overall, a nice option if you want Korean chicken without the deep-fried guilt.

Located inside the Hmart supermarket's food court. I thought it was fried chicken but actually roasted chicken. Picked up 10 pcs garlic soy chicken wings $20. It was very flavorful and juicy. I waited about 20 mins for my order. We came on Sunday night around 6pm and were able to find parking and a table to sit. Definitely will come back to try out the other menu items.

Goobne Chicken makes the best Korean oven roasted wings. Not fried! So if you are craving wings but want a healthier option then this is for you. Goobne is a small little spot tucked in the corner spot located in Hmart. They have wings in a variety of different sauces. I went with their volcano sauce which was described to me by their worker as a similar budak spicy flavor but less spicy. She was absolutely right. It was also on the sweeter side which I didn't mind but I do want to try their other flavors. The chicken was moist and perfectly cooked. It did take some time to make but worth the wait. Besides their seven different flavors of wings they also have pizza, onion rings, fries, baguette bowl, and rice bowls. Pricing was decent and my only regret was not ordering more.

Korean fried chicken without the deep fry! Their oven - roasted chicken is crispy, tender, and so delicious. And it's not just chicken on the menu -- they also have rice bowls, pizzas, salads, fries, and more. Everything was very flavorful.

This location is inside of a newly constructed and very large Hmart. This is the food court where you can grab lots of other food too! Service is fast and you are given a buzzer to let you know when the food is ready. Do note that the chicken here is oven roasted. This IS healthier but in my opinion, not as tasty. I do not get the satisfying crunch I get at BBQ or Pelicana. Because I prefer the crisp, I'll be going back for BBQ or Pelicana chicken.

If you want water, ask for a cup and fill it here.

These are not double fried chicken. These are oven roasted chicken. We got volcano flavor and Soy garlic flavor then added waffle fries. My fiancé said it reminds him of Pizza Hut wings. I loved the waffle fries because it had a hint of honey sweetness. The wait was about 20 minutes, they give you a beeper so you can walk around the area until it beeps. There are also mini claw machines to keep the kids or adults busy. If you want water, any of the vendors will give you an empty cup and you would fill it up at the water fountain by the restrooms which is next door to this chicken place.

Good, healthier alternative to fried chicken, but I love fried chicken so much, this did not fulfill the craving, LOL. I got the sweet soy flavor and it was really good. Although oven-roasted, it did have a slight crisp to them, but it just doesn't hit the same as a FRIED chicken. It is also quite pricey for the amount that you get... cashier at the front was super nice though and food came out pretty fast. Not sure if I would try it again, but I also saw they had pizza and the people of Yelp are raving about it, so maybe I will try that next time!

Goobne Chicken is know for its oven roasted, non fried chicken. The chicken is flavorful, juicy, and a healthier alternative to traditional deep-fried Korean chicken. Popular flavors include Soy Garlic, Galbi and Honey Butter Crispy. I also love the Galbi Chicken. The Soy Garlic Wings have a sweet and savory glaze. The Galbi wings are sweet and Smokey. The Honey Butter wings have a sweet and savory dry rub. My personal favorite is the Honey Butter. The chicken is crispy and pairs well with the buttery baguette bowl. They also serve Korean oven baked pizza and chicken rice bowl. I love their soft pizza dough. Goobne Chicken is a popular choice for those seeking a high quality, healthier version of Korean fried chicken. Goobne Chicken inside H Mart Westminster -- 16450 Beach Blvd. Westminster, CA 92683

The chicken here was crispy and saucy. Service was really good. Staff were nice and friendly. They are located in the H mart. Lots of seating available inside the food hall. They are giving out a $10 of coupon on your orders!

Stopped by this weekend during an H Mart run and decided to give this place a try. It was a perfect for a casual meal. The chicken was fried fresh, so there was about a 20-minute wait, but it felt reasonable knowing it was made to order. The service was friendly and patient throughout. We ordered two types of chicken--while the original had no sauce and was a bit plain for our taste, the sauced options were the clear favorites among our group, adding more flavor and appeal.

10 piece wing - this for $24? Not worth it to me.
    Brent P.

Had 10 piece meal, half volcano and half crispy sesame or something. Chicken was ok but nothing special. Volcano should be spicier. For the price, I'd rather get wingstop and get fries, a drink and delicious ranch. Girl neglected to tell us there was a charge for splitting the 10 wings into 2 flavors so 10 wings ended up being $24 before tax... meh. Like others, it's in a food court so not much to say about ambiance.

Meeting spot: H-Mart for us! So yummy for these foodies!
    Josie T.

We ordered the galbi and garlic soy chicken. Liked it so much we tried to get more flavors: the butter and the lemon dry with butter bread. Oh my! All good and the service was only a few minutes. It's definitely healthier since it's not fried but oven baked instead! Great ambiance for a tasty fix for your hunger being in H-Mart. See you again Goobne!

What brings the experience to another level is their pickled vegetables, kimchi, and scallion salad, which brings acidity to balance out the fatty pork. The servers are aunties that won't check on you after every bite but will come over the second you raise your hand. I took my mom for lunch and we dug in a little too quick - photos were snapped after we've made a small dent on the food. We got the Seolleongtang and soondae platter which was plenty to share between two people. We ended up taking half of the soondae platter home and enjoying it for breakfast the day after. For those not familiar with Seolleongtang, the soup comes out very basic. You're given a bucket of scallions, a little pot of salt, and shaker of ground pepper to season the broth as you please. I recommend adding a few spoonfuls of the radish kimchi sauce. Speaking of the banchan, Jong Ro prepares some of the freshest and most flavorful banchans on the street. I wish they offered a menu option that was just a bowl of rice and bottomless banchan. The soondae was perfectly springy, paired with a salted shrimp sauce and flavored salt dip. The platter also came with boiled (or steamed?) pork belly, pig ear, and other pork innards that were nicely cooked. I love restaurants like this because they are simply good at what they do. Nothing is over-the-top. There is always a constant stream of customers. The times I've gone have been during your typical slow hours and the place was always 60% full. I imagine the house is full during dinner time or on weekends and rightfully so. Definitely stop by if you're looking for a heartwarming and belly filling comfort meal.

This place is a charming aesthetic when you walk in. It's got some good lighting, not bright, just calm, at least to me. The decor is itself is beautiful, simple, yet beautiful. Service is good! Everyone is nice, they're always on the move, but always willing to help when needed. Food, I never had a bad thing here. And oh my goodness, a one page menu, decision fatigue has lessened! The simple go to for a lot of us has been the Katsu Curry. It's big, but never skimps on flavor. The texture is perfectly crispy, and the meat is juicy! The curry is full of flavor, and all of that with rice, is served in a big stone bowl. So it stays warm your whole meal. Garlic Su Yuk has been a comfort dish since say 1 for me. It's just comfy, with the toppings, I just need to add rice and that's my happy meal. Tofu Stew is that thing I get if I'm either craving soup, or I really need to open my chest because asthma is a pain in the booty. You get that bowl of rice, so I like to add the fried egg to that, let me say that yolk from the egg is an enhancement. The dish is perfect, but egg elevates it! So overall, this one of my comfy food spots. I know the Katsu is viral, but try the other delicious foods here too! You won't regret it!

We ordered the chicken katsu curry, beef soup (galbi tang with glass noodles), and dawa chicken. All three dishes were shared family style and we had a good amount of chicken katsu curry to take home as leftovers for my friend's partner to eat for his dinner. Can you believe that a group of seven women only had to pay $71.86 total (including tax and the automatic gratuity for our party size that was 5+ people) for that much food? We each paid $10.27 for our portion and that's highway robbery in this economy. In terms of customer service, I'll say that our server was incredibly friendly when he was present, but he admittedly came by literally only three times during our visit: when we had to dramatically flag him down to order, when he dropped off our food when it was ready, and when we had to flag him down to pay for our check. I'm so glad they had a handheld terminal for us to use for checkout because we might have passed out from heat stroke if we waited any longer, lol. There are always trade-offs in this life, I suppose. We'll be back soon!
