Stopped by for dinner after a concert and was glad to see they were open until 9:30 PM on weekends. The waitress was very friendly--she greeted us right away, invited us to seat ourselves, and brought over some menus. They offer a few combo meals, including an all-you-can-eat (AYCE) option for $22. Like other Mongolian BBQ spots, you build your own bowl with meats and veggies, and they cook it fresh on the large grill. Meat options included pork, chicken, beef, and lamb--though they were running low on lamb during our visit. The veggie selection had fresh picks like broccoli, zucchini, bean sprouts, lettuce, and more. There's a helpful guide for how many scoops of sauce to use. I followed the suggestion and went with a mix of garlic, strong sauce, and one scoop of oil--it turned out great! Cooking only took about three minutes, and after that, I topped my bowl with sesame seeds and chili oil. The meal came with egg drop soup, rice, egg rolls, and biscuits. Food came out quick! While the ambiance is a bit dated, it's a no-frills, satisfying spot for a quick and hearty meal after a long day.

Got to say, great services by the folks working there. Very friendly, helpful, cheerful and attentive. Prices for adult and kid are very reasonable, especially for AYCE, you pick your protein (lamb, beef, pork, chicken, or seafood (limited) and veggies) then you take your bowl to the cooking station and they will cook, stir-fry for you w/ your choice of sauce or not and if you want noodle, they will add it in. The foods are not bad at all, for me, it's heavy on the grease (oil) and the sauce. You do get compliment, egg rolls and breads, which are not bad at all. The place is with basic decor but family feeling vibe. Easy parking since it's big. Overall great reasonable dinner.

The food is so delicious and the portions are great. The staff is friendly and welcoming as soon as you walk in and the food is prepared quickly from fresh ingredients. I highly recommend option C that comes with rice and shrimp in addition to your bowl. The restaurant is clean, open and well lit. It's a tiny place but a gem!

My visit with friends was two sundays ago on 5/10/25 for lunch. Bang recently got a pay raise at work and decided that he was going to treat our friend Mike and myself to lunch. The staff were friendly and promptly seated us, got our drinks and took our meat orders. When we got our meats we were awarded with a basket of their pocket bread and appetizer plate consisting of mini egg rolls and cream cheese wontons. We then proceeded to the veggie bar, the sauce bar and then to cooking station. If you want noodles you have to request it from the chief when he cooks your food. Overall the food was good and tasty and if you like Mongolian BBQ you need to give this place a try. This place is ayce and our bill came out to $75 and change. Comes out to roughly $25 per person which isn't too bad. Kids may be cheaper. I ended up getting 3 bowls. First bowl was lamb, second bowl lamb and pork, and third bowl was beef. I would return and recommend.

OVERALL : As a kid, I used to get Mongolian BBQ every time I went to the mall at the food court. It's super nostalgic to me, and I had a random craving the other day that NEEDED to be satisfied. I got there for dinnertime and it was a full house, full of locals grabbing dinner (a good sign)! The restaurant itself was pretty dim, no frills, and simple -- but service was fast and friendly! Their dinner menu includes egg drop soup for every order. Mongolian BBQ is offered a-la-carte or AYCE. They take your order, and then work on bringing out your sides like rice, pocket biscuits, baby egg rolls, fried shrimps/wontons etc. depending on which combo you ordered, The meats, veggies, and sauces for the actual Mongolian BBQ is self serve in a buffet style line, and you bring your bowl to the cooks who will add noodles and cook it for you. PARKING : There's a parking lot here, not too much else going on in the strip mall so it was not hard to find a spot when I visited! FOOD/DRINKS : I got the a-la-carte option since I wasn't too hungry. I packed my bowl with lots of beef, broccoli, and other assorted veggies and followed their sauce guide on the wall to add some flavor to my bowl before passing it to the cooks. I got the freshly cooked bowl and topped it with the chili + sesame they had at the cook stations. This meal def hit the spot! Loved the savory flavor of the noodles, big pieces of beef, and the crunchy veggies. I wish it came with more noodles to balance out the other ingredients I got, but they do have an option to add more for $1 so I may get that next time. The pocket biscuits were kind of like tortillas. Soup was pretty bland, but it was a small free bowl with every meal so I was not complaining. I put the rice in the noodle bowl when I was done to soak up the extra sauce after. Very filling meal, even after my 1 bowl!

Great food, great service, place is small but make up the great tasting Mongolian Bbq I really can't say enough about this place but eat here. My wife and I have looked for a Mongolian BBQ since we dated 30 years and hasn't been one that rates until. Thank you!

This place moved from where I grew up in fountain Valley and I haven't been able to visit. They said they moved over six years ago and it's the same good quality and good service and all you can eat is a real deal at $24 for all the meat and bread pockets you can eat!

    Jamie P.

Looking for a quick dinner and this place hits the spot as well as bringing back the nostalgia memories when these type of food can only be enjoyed at the mall. Great service! The cashier was sweet and the cook was efficient. It was nice that they also offer ayce option!

Just okay was over cooked and smothered in soy sauce and one note I do not recommend this at the food court with so many better selections

This AYCE Mongolian bbq is a hidden gem of Westminster. Located on garden grove and knott and next to a bar, it's very easy to miss and pass by many times. Parking is limited during its peak times so it's best to go at night. There is a Yelp check in offer so take advantage of it For first timers, it's very simple. You pick your selected protein and variety of vegetables. For the sauce, there is a guide on how to each one yourselves but feel free to experiment it if you need more juice. Sodas are fountain and water is free. It's AYCE so don't expect any servers interaction. But at least once, tip the hardworking chefs who is cooking the food for you...despite of how many times you come back for more. Overall, it is a hit or miss for some people but I recommend on giving this place a chance.

I've been telling my family about this place for years and finally we made plans for dinner to come…read morehere. We got here on Friday night 4/3/26 around 5:30pm. All the tables were full and there was one party of 11 just ahead of us. Our wait for a table was like 30 minutes or so. Once we were up we were guided to a table towards the back for five. Our server asked if we been here before and if we wanted anything else besides water to drink. My brother and his fiance split a full order of the beef ribs and side order of sauteed garlic green beans. My mom and step dad split a full order of beef ribs while I ordered a full rack of baby back ribs which came with two side orders. I picked coleslaw and onion rings which I shared with the family. The food came out promptly. Everyone enjoyed their food. The baby back ribs were moist with flavor, smoked and went well with their bbq sauce. The rest of the family really like their beef ribs. And they even commented that it was better than the other bbq places we been to. Definitely will return and highly recommend.

*** SCAM ALERT *** I…read moredon't use the word "SCAM" lightly, but that's what this was. My adult son called in a $281.62 order off the menu for Mother's Day. They would not accept the order or payment over the phone because the order was "too big." They asked that someone go there and pay up front for the entire order. Since it was the evening before Mother's Day, I drove to them and paid for the order. Yes, I was also presented with a minumum 20% TIP screen, which I declined. When I got there at pickup time (4:00pm) on Mother's Day, the price changed to $325.51. I was told that, for some reason, they had cut about 50% larger portions than the menu specified (see the line items, which should have been 1 lb. each), so they charged me for the difference ($325.51 - $281.62) which was $43.89 (about 50% more for the 2 items they cut heavier). No, there was no mention when I placed the order that the total cost might change due to extra meat. Neither is it shown on their web site or printed menus. When I protested, there was no option. If I don't pay the $43.89 difference, I don't get the Mother's Day food. After about 20 minutes of bickering at the counter with two different clerks (note the time stamp differences on the credit card slips), I was given my original order, with a net price reduction of ($281.62 - $254.93) $26.69. My persistence had paid off. On a positive note, the cook did, twice, walk up to me and quietly apologize for what was going on. I know many folks would have folded in this situation, but that's not my nature. I don't stand for dishonesty. Yes, it was embarrassing, other clients in line were not happy (I let them skip ahead of me so as not to inconvenience them). None of them had price increases. I don't know if the clerks wanted a tip because the management doesn't pay them much, or it this goes deeper and is standard operating procedure that assumes most clients will simply approve of the overage and pay up. In any case, from this client's point of view, this is a SCAM! When it was all over, I took my 11 and 12 year old grandsons (who had been sitting patiently waiting for grandpa to pay) and my food package to the car, drove home and proudly presented the meat to my family. After all, I am a hunter-gatherer; and the food was great!

I was totally thinking I was going to let my family down and have to figure out something else. I was shocked that he even offered because I know they are a small shop and can get busy. I assumed they partnered with door dash or Uber eats for their delivery. The cherry on top was that the food got here faster than if I had used door dash Anyhow, it is rare to experience this kind of hospitality these days and thought they deserved the kudos. We went when prices were still like $18.99/each AYCE at night but now I heard it's $23/each, which is understandable but unfortunate for us students. Both times we went, the portions each order was solid and the meat quality was good, better than expected. We ate tons of meat and some of us ordered sides, the wait for the orders weren't too long and the grill was being changed frequently. The staff were nice and the service was relatively quick even when they were busy. One order seemed to be forgotten but another server checked in on us and they went back to make sure everything was proper, which was nice. When I went with my friend, the two of us were challenging each other and we ended up being the very last party to leave. Unfortunately, we ordered more than we could eat due to our competitiveness and it was already past 12 p.m. They decided not to charge us the leftover fee so I tipped more to compensate. Shoutout to the kind staff that watched me try to scarf down the food at the end and seeing a duo last longer than a party of 11 . I recommend going here late at night to try out their, now $23, AYCE from 10 p.m to 12 p.m and note that their last call is 11:30 p.m. Another thing is that you have to sign up on the waitlist via their tablet in-person, so come around 9:15 p.m if you're going with a large party and hit up the H-Mart across while waiting!

there are so many kbbq places in garden grove, so i hadn't had the chance to try sookdal before,…read morebut i wish i had tried it sooner bc the meat quality is so good !! my friends and i came here on a saturday night, and the wait was about 1 1/2 hr since the restaurant is pretty small and doesn't have many tables. when we finally got in tho, the servers were super efficient and attentive to us for our entire meal. they also cook the meats for you and display it nicely on the grill, so it's one less thing to stress about while dining! my group of 4 decided to split combo D, which comes with pork belly, pork collar, beef brisket, choice of stew between kimchi or bean paste, and cheese to eat with the meat. this was plenty of food for all of us, and we left pretty stuffed and satisfied! my favorite meats were definitely the pork belly and collar, which had the perfect amount of fat without tasting too greasy. it is probably my favorite bite of pork belly of all time! i also love how sookdal has a "tutorial" to show you the 7 best ways to enjoy the meat with all of the side dishes and sauces, and my personal favorite way was with the garlic oil sauce! it was a pretty unique and fun experience, and i would definitely come back!

Is this what dreams are made of? Intoxicating aroma of caramelized pork, umami flavor, juicy meat,…read moreand perfectly charred edges? Must be! The pork jowl and pork belly are DIVINE - clearly high quality. Workers hand us a sticker with specs about the preparation and aging process, which is oddly charming and shows how much pride they take in their meat. The staff even cooks everything for us, so we can sit back and stuff our faces. The sides are great too. Tangy pickled or fermented veggies, sweet pineapple, mushrooms, and soups help cut through all that richness from the fat. The pork and kimchi soup especially hits - it's super comforting and balances out the meal. This is also a great alternative if you're craving BBQ but don't have the stomach space for AYCE. These portions leave us full and satisfied every time. Overall, an amazing spot for a casual, pork-centric feast!
