I ordered room service from here while staying at The Casso, and the highs were high, and the lows were low. I ordered the She's Spicy, Truffle Fries, Caesar Salad, and the Butternut Squash Ravioli. The She's Spicy was super delicious. Not too sweet and very balanced. It took about 45 minutes for the order to arrive, which is a hefty wait, but not a dealbreaker if the food is good. It also came boxed up like take-out, not served plated like real room service. The truffle fries were delicious. Hot, well-cooked and lots of black truffle. The aioli was also delicious. The Caesar salad was really good with lots of fresh greens, and the dressing was solid. My only desire would be a better crouton or breadcrumbs for another take and extra dressing. The butternut squash ravioli was TERRIBLE. It wasn't served as listed. It was swimming in sauce with a massive chunk of undercooked fennel at the bottom. There were poorly cut chunks of pear, and a sticker was still on one of the pieces. The dish had no salt or seasoning whatsoever, and the ravioli were undercooked. Thankfully, I filled up on the fries and the salad. Additionally, the meal was not cheap at all. It was super disappointing to have to stay in and order room service. read more

They offer brunch lunch and dinner options along with delicious cocktails. We enjoyed samples of items such as: - ceviche style salmon bites with microgreens (my favorite) -fried risotto and pork belly balls - -The Casso Burger with sweet yet zesty bacon jam - and for dessert and incredibly creamy Colombian coffee shot with heavy cream, lime, and raspberries. Cute brunch spot a casual, fast, breakfast. We were in town for a girls weekend and needed a bite to eat before heading home. Everywhere we went had a 1-2 hour wait and we were searching to find something with good food, good drinks, and accommodations for a group of 5. We stumbled upon Good Day Good Night, which is inside of The Casso hotel. It's so cute, quaint, and super chill. It was also busy but to our surprise we were sat immediately. If there's one item that I can 100% rave about it's the grits-they were amazing! So much so, I had to order them as a side after I tasted my friends. We stayed at the Casso hotel for the weekend and thought we'd try the brunch at their restaurant on the Sunday we checked out. When I pay $16 for an omelette, I expect it to be freshly prepared. What I got instead was a uniform rubbery slab of egg-like substance, folded over with the freshly prepared filling inside. The egg part of the omelette was clearly pre-packaged and reheated, and not at all flavorful. Very disappointing. read more

Don't overlook this restaurant and don't assume it's just another "hotel restaurant." Good Day Good Night is in another league with their use of fresh ingredients, innovative recipes, comfort foods, and house made syrups, sauces, and juices. Their new chef, Andres Cortes, seems very talented and creative. I am looking forward to trying more of his creations. Most recently I tried the Peruvian chicken and crispy fried ribs for takeout. I meant to order the pan roasted half chicken but for some reason I mixed up when I ordered but boy am I glad I did. The Peruvian chicken was phenomenal. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Nothing was bland or overwhelming just balanced and satisfying. The chicken was accompanied by similarly perfectly cooked peppers, potatoes, and green tomatoes. I wasn't sure about the green tomatoes, but they do complement the dish well and add another texture. Not many dishes are worth a trip to downtown Raleigh and dealing with traffic and parking...the Peruvian chicken dish definitely is. I placed the order with a waiter while enjoying an El Corazon (tequila, blood orange, passion fruit, pomegranate, lime juice, and orange liquore) then Pink Cocktail (strawberry anise syrup, vodka, lime juice, and sparkling wine). They really nailed the flavors on these cocktails. I'm hesitant to try vodka based cocktails and typically go for tequila. I was intrigued by the anise syrup so I gave the pink cocktail a try and loved it. Their mixologist definitely knows how to balance flavors. The cocktails are surprisingly strong so one is enough, I just couldn't help trying another after how good the El Corazon was. With the excellent service, accurate orders, and ingenious menu I highly recommend Good Day Good Night to others and look forward to returning! read more

Good Day Good Night is tucked inside The Casso Hotel in downtown Raleigh. The service was excellent as well as the ambiance. This was part of a Yelp Elite event! I liked the food and thought the dishes served were flavorful :) As someone who prefers non-fried food, I wish the dishes could have had more variety (including some salads or tapas) that the full menu offers. However, my gin and tonic mocktail paired well with what was served and finished the night out well. I would come back with friends looking for a modern place for a drink! read more

They don't even sell pancakes. I had the French toast and it was slightly weird. I've never had French toast like that before. Service was cool especially since it was dreamville weekend. I was really disappointed coming back here tonight and seeing how different the experience was. I always praise this restaurant because it was a fun experience but it seems like the food selection and service is getting worse. They change their menu around occasionally, and right now their menu is very weak. A burger, a mediocre grilled chicken sandwich, a piece of salmon over some peas, and dry penne with marinara were most of the options tonight. We all got something different and there was not one dish that was great to anybody. The marinara pasta was the worst dish by far. It seems like there was no quality or flavor in anything. On top of that, we waited 45 minutes just to get margaritas. Neither the restaurant or bar was packed, and even if it was, 45 minutes for 3 drinks would still be ridiculous. We told the manager of the restaurant how long we were waiting, and he went off to "check on it" without returning to give us an update, our drinks, or an apology. You can start it with coffee and teas or pastries or visit for a healthy, plant-forward lunch. A good night ends with adult beverages and a tasty dinner. Had a voucher from Offline Raleigh so decided to try this place out on a Wednesday night. The menu seemed interesting but nothing jumped out at me. I definitely underestimated the food and was glad we decided to go. There is parking attached to the hotel. Cost us about $4. The atmosphere is really nice and they were not too busy. We tried the Vegetable Lumpia from the Dirt List (specials) and I had the Veggie burger. It was definitely one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had. It was more along the lines of an impossible burger vs black bean, etc. with a devious bun, sauce and fried onions. Food was left and diners were left to their own devices... It's not a good look when diners have to get up from their table and ask to place orders or for the check. Such a shame such a cute vibe nicely decorated but the service was so slow with only one person serving tables. She was nice but didn't have a good system. We had a table of 4 and it was too much for her. We waited 45 minutes for a cup of coffee and an orange juice. We had to ask several times if she was coming back with it. Took over an hour to get our food which was not good . The oatmeal was hard and crusty as it sat under the heat lamps We watched them make it 20 mins prior but she never brought it out. The eggs were over salted and the grits were dry and crunchy. The omelets were not good and sadly the coffee tastes cold and bitter and she brought one cup to one of us and then helped the other tables so she was servicing everyone at once instead of bringing one table their food and moving on so if you came in after us you got your food before we did and we didn't get our food together it was an odd experience very bad I would find another place for food. I'm Placing this review without having even dined at this establishment yet but that doesn't mean I can't already be impressed with the level of hospitality I experienced. I made reservations for dinner on short notice, made them in the morning for that same evening. In the notes for the reservation I listed two severe food allergies my date has, not voluntary dietary restrictions but full blown physical reactions. A few hours later I received a call from the restaurant with the explanation that while they would to have us for the evening they were unfortunately working with a limited menu that evening and they feared it would be in our best interest to make reservations elsewhere considering the items they were offering. This saved what would have been a very disappointing evening upon arrival as we scrambled to find somewhere else to dine well into service hours for most restaurants. I was incredibly grateful for the attention to detail they exhibited and look forward to making reservations again as soon as possible. read more

Food here is good, but there are some misses on the menu unfortunately. They have really good brussel sprouts, and the soups are good. But the pad thai is flavorless, and nothing like real pad thai. It took us a long time to figure out where to eat dinner but I am glad that we chose this place. The restaurant has an interesting lay out. There are tables in a corner and then a lounge area with couches and stuff on the other side. The restaurant shares a building with another business so it can be a little confusing. My husband and I both ordered drinks that were delicious. For an appetizer we ordered the roast garlic spread which was multiple cloves of roasted garlic and a tomato jam served with a few pieces of bread. I wish that it had initially come with more bread because the amount of toppings was way more than what could fit on six pieces of bread. The waitress did ask us after though if she could bring us more bread which was nice. Both of us got the Mushroom Asada tacos. They come with a side of sweet potato fries which were good because they didn't taste like sweet potato they tasted like funnel cake lol. My husband substituted his sweet potato fries for truffle fries instead which honestly ended up not having much flavor. Overall though we enjoyed our dinner very much. I ordered the Sole de Puebla cocktail, which was good, but very strong so be prepared Of course as a yelper I did some research prior to going and realized their menu has changed a lot from what has been posted. I ordered the Good Day Good Night Burger and it was delicious. The jam and onions added a nice sweetness and the gruyere was not overpowering but still added enough saltiness to the burger. The bread was also so soft. And the fries, OMG! The fries were seasoned, crispy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. Those fries are memorable. My husband ordered a steak that was way over cooked, but his potatoes must have been prepared the same way as my fries because they were exceptional.
