Do NOT go to this shop. Took truck in for smog didn't pass the first go just because didn't have enough run time after a check engine light. Drove around put miles on it l, brought truck back 2 days later. Charged full price for smog after the lady who wasn't there said she'd take care of it. Shit for customer service which isn't anything really new. Lots of smog shops around town I'd recommend finding one that has some appreciation for their customers. *side note, I told the owner I was going to leave a shitty review, he asked that I please do that. I would give 0 stars I brought my car in today for a smog check. Prior to coming in I had no warning lights on in my car and it has been well take care of. As soon as they got done I had a check engine light on and my car kept cutting off. They swear they didn't do anything. 20+ years! I can not, I repeat...CAN NOT say enough great things about Good Guys! I mean I feel like they are family with how long I've been taking my vehicles (and sending friends and family too) to them! This time it was my Corolla...the ol' 2004 just would not start one morning...so here I am you tubing and searching the Internet like you would do for some weird aliment and a quest for self diagnosing on web MD for the answers....oh it could be my starter...oh my it might be my ignition sensor...then again it could be my battery....hold up what am I doing????? So I did the most logical thing, I took it in. 2 days later....(in my sponge bob narrator voice) I got the call. The car is fixed. My mom's car was taken in for a oil change . A month later the car stalled out. Not knowing what was wrong we had a mechanic come look to put a code reader on it. The mechanic said the car had zero oil in it . They put 4 quarts of oil in the car. The car never leaked oil and still does not, no oil spots in driveway at all. My fiance who took the car in went and spoke to the owner. He said he realized he didn't put the oil in . They had a long conversation about the issue. The owner said for my fiance to have the car towed to his shop and things would be worked out as he felt bad about the whole situation. The owners wife was not there at the time of the conversation. When she came into work. She called us for the date on the paperwork. Which they should of had a copy of. She states how it's not there fault the car would of never drove with no oil. Funny how the husband was taking responsibility when she was not there. Then his while story changed. I asked for his insurance to try to deal with it further which he denied giving to me . I had used this business for about 20 years and referred them to many friends and family . Which I will definitely no longer do. I will be contacting the BBB and continuing with this issue. I came here to get my car fixed in order to pass smog and I gave them the paper with the reason for it failing and they still wanted me to pay for a diagnostic when there's no need. When I asked them why they need to do a diagnostic when the problem is on the paper in front of them to be fixed, they got mad and offended and told me to pick up my car and take it somewhere else. I didn't notice until after thy ran my card. When I questioned the said I had a heavy duty truck. I said it's a pick up truck. and a diesel at that. Do not take your car here! I dropped my car off for failed smog repair and the next day the owner says he can't diagnose my car because he couldn't get it started because of the battery and I need to come pick it up and fix it. When my husband and I arrived to pick it up , the car fired right up! Plus you can't understand a Damn thing he is saying! I am going to try Ryans Automotive. We brought in our car because we were having problems passing smog. The check engine light kept coming on. Good Guys told us that it could be the ignition coil. However, if we wanted that changed out, they would need to order the coil from the Toyota dealer directly, so we would have to bring our car back in a couple days. We brought it back and they changed up the ignition coil. That same day, the check engine light came back on. I had to go to work so I brought it to another mechanic close by my job. He said that the coil that they put in there was not from the dealer and that it was a generic one, and that was causing the issue. The coil they put in there was really loose and it had to be one from Toyota. So I called Good Guys and asked them about it. The mechanic at Good Guys admitted to me over the phone that it wasn't a coil from Toyota. read more
